I think so too. My hypothesis will be proven if we can see an arrival scan in Alaska in the next 4 hours on our tracking - before the same plane continues to Memphis.

mine went straight to Memphis with no stop in Alaska. Shanghai > Memphis > San Antonio.

I think it depends upon which FedEx flight it catches. FDX90 is a straight through flight to Memphis, FDX28 (?) is the one that has a layover in Anchorage where they do import clearances and divide up the cargo for west and east coast hub distribution.

Mine came over on 90 so it went through Memphis.

Mine will be delivered tomorrow.:D

There's a flight on its way to Memphis now, but it's not landing for about seven hours. If my iMac didn't make the Anchorage flight, I'm hoping it's on this one.

Hope not! I want mine to come to the UK :D

LOL - I never look at where people are from.

Presuming my iMac actually left China, I'm guessing it's on this flight. I'm not sure it could have made the earlier flight into Anchorage, but I'll know sometime today, I guess.

Presuming my iMac actually left China, .

Right. I noticed other people's tracking information as another step after "left origin facility" before they actually leave so they might still be there and leaving on one of tonight's flights. Really need that next tracking update email to know for sure

Confused

I ordered my 27" BTO iMac on the 30th of November approx 2 hours after orders opened - I had David Jones (apple reseller in Oz) vouchers to use so placed the order through them. Details were submitted and I was informed by the sales manager that I would have my order "at the latest" on the 20th December.

With iMacs ordered via the Apple store being delivered on the 17th December, I followed up with David Jones yesterday to find out when they expected to receive my order – At this point I was informed that unfortunately my order was now not expected to arrive until "January". I WAS excited about this purchase, now I am just pissed off with Apple and David Jones.

I spoke with Apple customer support and they informed that if I have any grievances, I really need to take them up with David Jones as they are unable to provide any support for sales made through resellers.

Pretty sure it is Apple that has failed to get their order to David Jones, which has caused the delay and made a liar of the salesperson that served me.
In any case, in this situation, is it Apple or David Jones that are guilty of misleading and deceptive sales techniques by guaranteeing delivery before Christmas?

Im in the ordered on the 30/11 and still processing club. My order went through at about 11am on the 30th for delivery between 27/12 and 4/1. I feel like the processing stage will never change...

I had to change an aspect of my address, but the delivery estimate remained the same. Do you guys reckon that has pushed my delivery estimate towards the 4th of Jan rather than the 27th?

BTW, anyone on here purchased from Australia? Keen to get an idea of the delivery times and such.

What do they mean by this?
"Left FedEx origin facility"

I assume it means a FedEx building in Shanghai, if so, will we receive any notification when package is on a FedEx Flt?

Apart from the David Jones co(k up described in my previous post, I also purchased a BTO 27" iMac on the 30th November and it arrived on the 17th of December - Melbourne, Australia.

At this point, I'm tired of tracking my order. It's gotten old seeing the processing status for over 3 weeks now, and I'm no longer enjoying the process of anticipating my order changing to preparing for shipment. I just want it to change now. It's gotten old and annoying at this point.

Can't say that I blame you. This whole roll-out has been kind of a mess, and left a lot of people frustrated. I hope yours changes NOW!

Thanks for the good luck, bayleaves! Still processing, but hoping to see some movement very soon... I'm glad yours finally changed a few days ago.

Ordered on Dec. 3 and entered preparing to ship status. In the U.S. Check out the December orders thread for more information!

Just got an email form Apple:
Dear,

Your order has left Apple and you will have received a Dispatch Notification email advising you of the expected delivery date.

Please note your items are shipping from different locations and will be merged, for your convenience, so that you will receive one single delivery.

As a result, please allow up to 4 business days for your Order Status to be updated online. You can view this information at any time by clicking here.

Kind regards,
Apple Online Store

Does it mean that my package is already on its way? Will it come earlier?

I don't think I understand how the iMac production line works. Last week when they started shipping the iMacs, a couple people said their iMacs were built in week 49, and some said week 50. I just checked mine, and it said week 49. I would have thought mine would be week 50 or 51, since mine just shipped today. Maybe they finished mine, and it just sat there for a week or so. ;)

Phoenix

ordered 11/30 BTO
shipped today after being in preparing to ship for < 24 hours
FedEx 2-3 business day
Delivery date 12/24 10:30am
