27" Delivery time thread.

Looks like my iMac is on FedEx flight 1419 from Memphis to Oakland, which will arrive at 6:06 am. That flight left Memphis at 4:18 am, and my tracking just updated to say that my package "Departed FedEx Location" at 4:18 am. So about three more hours before my iMac lands in California.

By the way, I'm not up because I'm excited about my iMac. I'm up because it's windy and my dog is scared of the wind and will only stop crying if I put her bed right next to my computer and sit up with her. I can't complain too much because it was also her fear of the wind that woke me up at exactly midnight on 11/30. :) Not that it helped that much.

Mine is on flight 1439 to Philly im only thirty minutes away from airport i hope we get them today

I've been using http://flightaware.com. I just looked up all the flights between Memphis and Oakland and kept an eye on them as they took off. Then my FedEx tracking updated to say it left at 4:18 am, which was the same time as one of the Oakland flights. Abbreviation for FedEx on FlightAware is FDX. For example, here's the info on my flight: http://flightaware.com/live/flight/FDX1419.

We are complete obsessed. I feel like I am part of an epic journey, fellowship of the iMac or something.

I did not get an update that mine left Memphis, it says "clearance delay - import" twice. At 1:38 and 2:38am Memphis time. We got a snow storm in Michigan, I'm sure that helps

Oh that's it, then. Michigan was one of the states FedEx said had deliveries impacted by the storms.
 
This is BS..... I'm giving up trying to track via ups site.......it wayyyyy delayed & not updated enough. Just making me frustrated. When the macs shows up... It shows up.

Of course we get snow when our iMacs could be here :(
It's not that bad where I'm at. I'm hopeful it could still be today and the tracking is just not updated yet.
 
Mine spent the night in Memphis but must have acted up. The tracking info today shows 'clearance delay' in red.

the delivery date remains 12/24 though.
 
Looking online, they make it sound like missing or improper paperwork will cause the clearance delay. :confused:

Not sure. I got the same message and I'm in SoCal. Anyway now it says departed Memphis so I think I'm on one of the flights headed out west so whatever clearance import delay was resolved.

Mine is still in Memphis .... they didn't change the delivery date though. So much for 2-3 business day shipping.

Yeah, our iMacs were grounded for bad behavior on the flight over. There were 2 FDX flights from Memphis to Detroit last night, mine missed them both.
 
Frustrating...

Ok, so I ordered on November 30th at around 3PM GMT.

27"/i7/8GB/3TB Fusion/680MX w/ Battery charger, Apple Care & a TB cable.

It was "processing" until last monday around 11AM GMT.

Now it's "Preparing for Shipment" since monday (4 days!) and hasn't changed.

So I called Apple. And the girl tells me that my iMac is still being built and that the "Preparing for shipment" status doesn't mean your iMac is finished...

I don't get this...

Does this mean that "Processing" only means "yeah we got your order, we'll get to it as soon as possible"? :eek:
