27" Delivery time thread.

ups flights - where do they go from Anchorage for east coast deliveries?

Hi, I am trying to track my iMac and/or it's ups flight on flightaware.com, does anyone know what the next stop usually is when they fly from Anchorage for east coast deliveries (to VT)?

for the record, it's a bto 27in (bought on second day it was avail.), it departed Anchorage at 9:10pm on the twentieth ...
 
Shipped!!!!

Shipped!!! It only took a couple of hours to go from Preparing to Ship to Shipped; I guess the plane was ready to go so there was very little hold up.

Thanks a lot, we went prepping roughly the same time, now that yours went to shipping, I will be refreshing the status page every minute the rest of the day:eek:

Seems that most all of them are going to the Memphis hub, then out from there. FDX28 is the China to Anchorage to Memphis flight. It should have been scanned in Memphis this morning after 3am eastern time...

You're lucky! Mine is "Preparing for Shipment" since monday. So it's been more than "a few hours"...

I do hope you'll receive yours soon and that you'll be able to enjoy it during the holidays! :)

Hey Macrovertigo, our IMacs must be flying together! .....or at least they were up until Anchorage.

Hope yours changes soon, though, it seems almost random how shipments are handled or at least I have not been able to discern any logical pattern.

Thanks guys. It's still processing... This is no longer enjoyable, anticipating when it's going to change... I'm grateful that I'm able to afford an iMac, but at this point, I'm tired of the waiting game and just want to receive it...
 
FedEx, You're Killing Me!

So my iMac arrived on the plane from Memphis at about 6:15 am today as expected, and it is now on a truck from Oakland to Menlo Park. I know I won't get it today, so I called FedEx and asked to change my delivery address. Nope, they said I have to go through Apple to change my delivery address, so that's not gonna happen.

My office is closed on Monday, so I said I could pick it up today, but the rep said the container that is holding my package and others from the flight from Memphis will not be touched until the "promised date", which is Monday. So that means I will have to ask them to hold it at the station so I can drive up here on Monday. Hopefully the traffic will be light on Monday, because on a normal day it would take me 45-60 minutes each way. I so wish I could get it while I'm actually at the office!

But on the plus side, one way or another I should have it on Monday. Finally. :D
 
Wow. Landed in LA an hour and half ago. Going through FedEx sort facility. There is a sliver of a chance I could get it today. I'm in Orange county. FedEx doesn't deliver on Sat right?

Just talked to the mailroom and it turns out they will actually be open on Monday until 4:30 pm (!!!). I'm going to be bringing them a big plate of cookies when I drive up to pick up my iMac Monday.

I thought I saw one person say they received it on a Saturday from FedEx, but I don't know. They told me they wouldn't even touch the shipping container until the scheduled day, and I know a couple other people here have been told that as well. My computer is so close, yet totally inaccessible until Monday.

While it's possible the woman I spoke to had no idea what she was talking about, I think in this case she is right. It still seems to be on the truck from Oakland to Menlo Park, so I'll see if anything happens after it arrives at the station, but I'm still expecting Monday. :(

My delivery date went from Wed to Thur to today to now Monday. Thanks for shipping early Apple but its been a major headache. Had to call today & change the shipping address now. The lack of updates on Ups has been very frustrating too. Next time Apple release when your product is ready & Ups isn't so freaking busy. Off my soapbox now.
 
just called FedEx - 800 455 4588 number - I was very surprised, they answered instantly ! Lady was nice, but said that they are waiting for info from Apple on the entire shippment - of course i told her others had theirs released - she said that was in error- it should have been all held together. :eek:

She said as long as the info is received today from apple, it will be available for delivery Monday - she said Saturday is NOT an option. :p

called :apple: - 20 min on hold with apple was enough so I hung up.
