27" Delivery time thread.

MI here - ordered a BTO 27" on Dec 3rd with a shipping window of 3-4 weeks - delivery estimate btwn Dec 31st - Jan 7th. Hoping for an earlier delivery time as this is a gift for my son. Jan 7th he will be back up at school & am hoping the iMac will be with him...fingers crossed

Did you pay for expedited shipping? I ordered on Dec 1 with Standard shipping and my delivery is Jan 2-8. Same machine without the RAM and 680MX.

Where is "back up at school"? ;)

I got a mac for school from my parents... wonderful gift. absolutely wonderful.

So you had the option for next day? The earliest option I had when ordering for expedited (2-3 days). I'd prefer to get it next day because the computer this thing is replacing threw craps.

Yes I did get expedited shipping so hoping it get here faster :) He is a senior @ Central Michigan University - if all goes well he is planning for a Dec. 2013 graduation :D

Ah. When I think "up to school" I think of Northern or Michigan Tech. :) Congrats and yes, your son should be very thankful!
 
Europe online stores opened up about 15 minutes late...at that point I already knew that I won't recieve any of the first macs...
 
I will be happy as long as they don’t ship my iMac later than expected (between 12/26 and 01/02). Of course, sooner would be a plus but there is nothing we can do now :D

It's a 2 hour drive one way from where we live to his school - that's "up" to me - lol. He has a couple of friends that go to Tech - now that is TOO far for my liking - 12 hrs one way....no thanks:eek:

It can be done in 7.5.

I was building my own 486's when I was in college. :)
 
When the credit authorization drops off, they renew it to keep the auth alive until the imac is ready to ship and final charge.

I called it and was told there was no option for expedited delivery, but somehow my order now says Next Day on it. No idea why..

Mine has no authorization on it as of now. I never noticed one. They posted the $169 for AppleCare 2 days after I placed the order though!

When I run a customer's card for my business, after the initial approval I have 30 days to process the actual charge. When and if the "authorization" drops from the card prior to processiing is entirely at the card issuer's discretion and the merchant isn't privy to that information (nor does it matter.)
