Typing this on a 2007 24inch imac (with 3gig ram) that still holds strong to be honest. Looking forward to the new one and it's improvements![]()

Always non believers here
Now could it be happening sooner ???
That shows you are still on "processing items"....The same as the rest of us lol.
Next to processing items - status changed today from processing to available to ship ....
Im not saying it shipped, but any change is good, no???
It says Available to ship in 2-3 Weeks.
It says Available to ship in 2-3 Weeks.
I was laughing after Dustless posts the screenshot for a good while.
Then I looked at my own order status, it changed from
'Dispatched in 2-3 weeks' to
'Available to ship from 2-3 weeks'.
I have no idea what the difference lies between the two.
But doesn't matter.

I think Apple is playing around with wording and layouts in the order status screen. As noted a couple days ago, my screen doesn't have a cancel button and other parts are different than most people's, and yet another person's screen was slightly different from mine and everyone else's. My screen has said "available to ship" from day one, never said "dispatched".
I ordered 3.04AM EST Nov 30th from Brooklyn, NY, paid my $30 for 2 day shipping, and got a delivery date of 21-28 Dec.
This is all supposition and guesswork and I offer it only as food for thought...
- The Cancel Items on Apple's Your Order page is to do with your Credit Card company's practices.
- Everyone will be at stage 2 "Processing Items" until the shipment from China clears customs in Long Beach, CA.
- Only when the units are in the hands of UPS will we get to stage 3 "Preparing for Shipment".
- 21-28 Dec for a standard 5 day delivery implies the shipment arriving in CA. around Friday 14th. Then say, 2 days to clear customs, and get to UPS on the 16th.
- Therefore: if all goes well, and Apple undershoots the deadline they've promised, first deliveries of the 27" iMacs will come between Tuesday 18th and Friday 21st.![]()
The only part I'm watching is where it says "Processing Items"... when that changes to "Preparing for Shipment" I'll jump up and down
Changed my order to the flash ssd. Thought I'd be able to squeeze it in before the end of December. Looks like it will sometime "January". Sucks, oh well. Happy regardless. Just excited to have computer.
In fact I'm very much like you in that I have no interest in keeping up with the guy next door. I too tend to keep my tech until it becomes almost antique. I do however like to get the most current model at the start and not see it replaced within months which is what I think may well happen this time. I also think that the latest iMac launch is one of the worst managed events in a long time by Apple. Because of their almost cult status they now take their customers for granted.
