I happened to be on the phone with Apple(another issue) when i saw the "(excl. gift cards) - Free" had been added to my estimated shipping window, so I ask her what that was all about? She looked up the order she did not see it on her end & had no idea what i was talking about

It simply means your shipping costs are free.

Mine was shipped yesterday morning in China. It is still in China, like all of those who were shipped yesterday non-expedited, and UPS had no flight to ANC today so its still there. Given this, all those of you who've been complaining that theirs had not shipped yet and was still processing, I think we'll see some more prepared and shipped to make the flight from Shanghai to Anchorage tomorrow night. That would put these machines into Louisville late on Wednesday night/early Thursday morning.

It doesn't seem like that is it. I, too, have the '(excl. gift cards) - Free' thing on my order, but when I view order details, it still says they are charging me $30 for 2-3 day shipping.

In the past when I've gotten gift cards from Apple (back to school iPad), the gift card appeared on the receipt as $50, but, they never actually charged for it. I think it's there to keep a record of value.

Mine changed to preparing for shipment this morning. Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada.

So for those of you who's status has changed to shipping approximately how long did you have to wait to see that change and get your tracking number ?

Really annoyed at this point that people who ordered after me (3 am eastern) and live near me (Toronto) with the same config (maxed out) have shipped and mine is still processing.

I would try tracking by reference number (using your phone number) on both ups and fedex and see if anything shows up.

dont feel bad

Don't feel too bad, I ordered my BTO at 8am EST and its "processing" as well.

The first batch that everyone is so excited about were made early by robots who were still groggy and hadn't had their coffee yet.:D

So... unlike most of you, I did not order my 27" right when it came out. I ordered on Dec. 6th, and my estimated delivery is Jan 7-11. However, it seems there are cohorts of deliveries: 21st-28th, (?) 1st-7th and now 7th-11th? Obviously mine is still processing. I'd just be happy to get before the end of the year...

So, if the 21st-28th people get their Macs on 13th-16th, maybe there's hope for all the rest of us?

When my card was charged it was charged everything sans the $30 for 2-3 day shipping.

We are in exactly the same boat. It's a real "#firstworldproblem" situation I know, but what's the point in:
• getting up in the middle of the night to make sure that you preorder 'first'
• ordering a non-BTO config system with no variations or additions in the hopes of minimising delays to the order,
If everyone & their dog seems to be having their orders processed first?
It is just a frustrating, kept-in-the-dark situation where every Apple employee claims to know nothing to clarify or help. Hardly a 'premium' experience.

So they come to Louisville KY after Anchorage? That's good new because I live in Ky, now I just have to hope mine ships before that first flight leaves.

I guess what it comes down to is that Apple never stated that it would be first come, first serve... We just assumed this because when items are released in stores, people line up... and that is actually first come, first serve...

It seems to me that they are paying attention to what day you ordered it, just not the time. It seems like everyone who got tracking numbers ordered on 11/30. We just have to wait and be patient... Hopefully the rest of the 11/30 orders will go out within the next couple days.

For me, it sucks that I stayed up til 3AM to place my order, but the bright side of it is that I was early enough to be in the "delivery before Christmas" window... If I had just ordered it in the morning, there would have been a possibility that it would ship later, as they switched it from 2-3 weeks to 3-4 weeks at some point on 11/30.

No love in Apple's home state of California. Order still 'processing', no pending charges on my credit card.

Ordered 11/30, 7am PST from California:
i7
680mx
1tb fusion

I may just take the 1 hour drive down to Tim's house to ask...:)

I ordered 12:40am PST, also in California. Had estimated delivery date of Dec 24-31 and got apple to expedite it to Dec 20-27. My order still says processing although the full amount showed up as a pending charge to my credit card this morning. As much as I'm holding out hope it'll ship today and arrive by Friday, it feels more likely that it'll arrive Monday or Tuesday.

i5-3.2, 680mx, 1tb fusion for me.
