Wow I have a delivery date of Dec 21-28 as well that would be some BS if that is the case ordered maybe 5-7min after 12:00

Odd tracking info...

This doesn't make sense. Makes it look like my iMac went back to China. :) Still shows delivery on the 13th, though.

That's crazy. I'm scared to call now, lol. Keep us informed on how your order is going. After we all get our iMacs, we may need to start an online therapy group for PTSD. :D

Sadly yes have you tried calling Apple? maybe it's the chat reps who are clueless

even calling not sure they know anymore than what your status says, lady told me today I would be lucky to get it by X-Mas then 7 hours later its preparing to ship, but obviously non of this matters until it ships

May have something to do with time differences

The online reps can't access your account. They don't know anything. I tried chatting with one the other day and they redirected me to the phone number.

The crazy thing is the exact same thing happened with the iPhone 5 preorders.

Apple seemingly picks AT RANDOM which orders to fill and it is not based on the chronological timing of when the orders were placed.

I preordered three iPhone 5 on the first day with the last order being placed nearly 24 hours after the first. Guess which one shipped first?!? Yes, the last one.

Go figure...

My 27" ordered at 3AM PST Nov 30 is still showing as "processing items". Will it make it under the tree this year? Only Apple knows...

UPDATE!!!!

That chat rep was full of S.

That's all

Ps, Lets hope us who still on the processing stage get it moving soon

It really is a joke, and I'm not quite as time constrained as some people (though fairly so - it needs to show up by the end of next week if possible). While the delivery date does say what it says and Apple isn't lying (at this point), it is maddening that the orders are being shipped seemingly randomly.

I'm telling you people in china are picking numbers out of a hat

I'd not be surprised if there's rhyme/reason based on build. Don't forget, this is assembly-line stuff, so they're going to take LOTS of orders with the exact same build and do those - to generate momentum in the build process. Exactly what that entails, - I don't know, - but that's how I'd do it.

It's funny though people with specd out machines who you'd think would take more time are being shipped out...

If I had to guess, my guess would be that your iMac made a 'paper' trip to Anchorage . . . either that, or it actually did physically go to Anchorage and there is just so much chaos in the pipeline that the unit cleared Chinese Customs after it had already departed; and the paperwork will catch up with the box.

If anyone can take anything away from this thread it is one thing, the order processing, unit production and unit shipping process is one Chinese Clusterf#@K of a drunken Frat Party where things are hanging from light fixtures and orders are folded into paper airplanes. I would guess that Long Duck Dong is involved somewhere in this. :D

At this point, Apple seems to be fulfilling orders randomly.

At this POINT ? ! ? ?

You haven't been reading this thread, have you.

Has to do with time zones, change it to destination time zone. It is on the way from Alaska to another USA hub.

It still doesn't make sense to me. No matter what time zone you choose to display, the activities should appear in chronological order, with the most recent ones at the top. The most recent two events, which show Shanghai as the location, should have occurred after the preceding three events, which show Anchorage as the location.

It's too bad Apple doesn't let you turn on "Find My Mac" until after you get it. :)

Anyway, I'm not going to lose any sleep over it (or at least I'll try not to).

Yeah but machines with the same exact built has been shipped to other costumes and not some. Some even got their order later and still got shipped first. How could you explain that

Different factories?

I'm really trying, here! :D

Really have no idea why my order says "Next Day" delivery. I wonder if that's holding things up? Or I'm just looking for some logical reason where there is none.

This thread... drug.... addiction...

This forum is increasingly making my blood pressure go up, but I can't stop checking it!

I'm hoping to see those of us in the First Ten Minutes Club finding their PROCESSING turning over into PREPARING FOR SHIPPING. It's got to come soon, right?

Honestly, I'm very irritated with the fact that those who ordered first aren't the first to see theirs ship. Now I ordered mine relatively late, at least I think so. I ordered it around 3:30 PM Eastern time on the 30th and received a 28th-4th window. I know that I may actually have had a better shot with the random order their doing than them strictly going in order, but the principles of it still upset me. Plus the fact that I'm still processing, :(
