27" Delivery time thread.

I would say that your location within the USA has no bearing on what has shipped.
Anyone got a picture of Chinese people + raffle tickets + big bowl/hat? That's about what we have here.
Speaking of which! We need some fun pictures that sum up what's going on here. I'll start by stealing a photo from earlier in this thread today.

Ordered 11/30 approx 6 am Eastern time.
i7, standard memory, 3 TB Fusion, 680, trackpad
It was in the delivers Dec 24-31 time frame, but I called today to see about expediting. I told the CSR we were waffling on keeping the order due to how long it was taking, and lack of optical drive.
Long story short, we got expedited shipping and a free SuperDrive.
Tonight, the order status changed to "Preparing for Shipment."

Damnit. I just called in talking about the lack of the optical drive. Still nothing T_T I want my free superdrive!!!! haha
On the other hand, my is still processing with a 27-2nd time frame!
I guess i am one of the lucky few but i have been reading many have ordered right after Apple opened up for pre orders for 27" BTO still seeing "processing items". I myself preordered around 8 am CST, 11/30 with 2-3 shipping and got an email monday that my iMac was on its way with a scheduled delivery on Thurs Dec 13. Really surprised me because I was expecting a delivery timeframe of Dec 21-28! Cant wait to get mine up and running!!
This doesn't make sense. Makes it look like my iMac went back to China.
I have the exact same thing. Let's hope FedEx's system just isn't stupid and it actually is in Anchorage now.

For sure!! My Birthday was today so monday when i found out I thought Apple was giving me an early birthday present.

A good theory. You know, of course, that your theory is based on logic, and as far as we can tell there's no logic to how these orders are being shipped.

I feel obliged to reply to pretty much every post, now. This is obsessions at new heights even I dreamed weren't possible.

I'm definitely excited for all those getting theirs, though. I want to see real-world numbers with the 680MX GPU!
Agreed, I feel the exact same way. I think it'll be best to avoid these forums until the iMac gets delivered. I think (part of) the problem is actually reading these forums, causing obsession over shipping and those who are receiving their iMacs versus those whose orders haven't even gone into the preparing for shipment status yet.
Just talked to a CSR. Apparently, the orders that are being shipped out (according to them) are by whichever comes in first. There's our first indication that these people are not up to date on anything thats going on.
Second, talked to ANOTHER CSR and asked them about the speed of the SSD, then asked them about how I'm going to read my CD's considering there isn't an optical drive (in hopes of getting him to send me a SuperDrive for free). He asked if it's possible for me to send the install files over the cloud. Is this an indication that they have NO idea about Apple products? I asked the first CSR about the superdrive and she didn't even know how it works. It seems like the second CSR doesn't even know the superdrive exists!
Meh..Oh well. Looks like people are just getting lucky with their CSRs when they call in.
