your iMac is sitting there with mine and quite a few others ready to fly out in the morning

Your tracking is identical to mine - except yours got picked up 2 minutes earlier. I got the same 10pm and 4am update 'at local fedex in Shanghai'...I guess they want to tease us a bit and remind us it's still over there. Fingers crossed we both get ours on Monday :D
So probably about 4:00am their time they'll go out? I'm not sure what that is for us will have to check. I will be checking it closely later tonight for sure. The FedEx lady I spoke with said they'll go to Alaska next. How it'll make it to our local FedEx's and to us on Monday I have no clue...maybe they'll be moving through the weekend.

well it came online around 11:56 pst. received my confirm at 12am pst. im in your club... sucks that people who ordered in the morning are receiving theirs while we are still processing. ughhh:mad:

Yeah that is so wrong my confirmation time was 11:34 am 11 1/2 hours after you guys, that is not right anyway you slice it I hate that for you guys. I really hope you all see yours shipping soon.

Search a few of my posts in this thread... I explained how it works.

The packages (yours and mine included) should be going out in about 8 hours. (almost 9PM their time)

here is some info

I was bored so I did some research AKA stalking. It looks like there are two FedEx flights that leave Shanghai every day.

FDX28:
-Leaves (Shanghai) ~7:51AM EST
-Arrives (Alaska) ~3:55PM EST

-then-

-Leaves (Alaska) Various times after arriving from Shanghai
-Arrives (Tennessee) ~1AM EST the following day

FDX90:
-Leaves (Shanghai) ~10:22AM EST
-Arrives (Tennessee) ~10:44PM EST same day

called apple aus to try and get my 2-3 day shipping turned to express. but it's not an option in Australia.

oh well :(

I just noticed that even though my iMac shipped early this morning, my cards haven't been charged yet

Same here. But don't worry (or celebrate) too much; sometimes it takes 24 to 48 hours for charges to be applied, depending on your card issuer.

Anyone else been sitting in Kentucky since yesterday morning?

Yeah, I think the UPS tracking data does not update frequently enough to match actual location ...

Louisville, KY, United States 12/12/2012 6:52 A.M. Arrival Scan
Anchorage, AK, United States 12/11/2012 9:10 P.M. Departure Scan
12/11/2012 7:29 P.M. Arrival Scan
Shanghai, China 12/12/2012 4:45 A.M. Departure Scan
Shanghai, China 12/11/2012 11:13 P.M. Export Scan
12/11/2012 4:40 P.M. Departure Scan
12/11/2012 1:29 P.M. Origin Scan
China 12/11/2012 12:08 A.M. Order Processed: Ready for UPS

Excited for Monday delivery!

or if they get on FDX90 they don't even hit Alaska :)

Where are you guys located? My thought is that they want ours to go on FDX28 for a reason. Logistically, it prob. doesn't make sense for ALL packages entering the US to go to Memphis.

If the packages hit Alaska first, they can be split up and put onto different flights which land closer to where you live.

For example (I may be completely wrong), I would think that all California orders will go on FDX28 to Alaska, and then a different flight to... LAX(?) or whatever airport Fedex uses near you. It really doesn't make sense to ship them all the way over to TN and then backtrack.

For me, it makes sense for them to ship it to Alaska, and then put it on a connecting flight to Newark, NJ... After which they just drive it to me :D

I'm in western NC, so Memphis is very close to me. My closest sorting facility is actually in SC though, so it will hit a few stops and take an extra day even though it's a 7 hour drive from my house to memphis

Yup, saw that so if there's no movement over the weekend it can go and arrive Monday;):p

That makes some sense. I'm in California so if that's the case I should see some movement by the early morning.

As long as it ships this morning (or even tomorrow morning) you should still be good to go for Monday since Fedex does work on weekends... They just don't deliver (to Apple customers that is... must be part of their contract).

It should be on its way by 5AM your time, and then on another flight toward you shortly after it lands in Alaska around 1PM :)

Fedex sent my iMac from Alaska to Indianapolis to be delivered to Denver. Never had anything go through Indianapolis before.

Weird... It didn't continue to go on to Memphis, but went to Indiana... It's a little closer to you but not by much. Maybe there aren't any other airports near you that connect with Alaska?

Actually, a little further away, I think. Never went to Memphis.

Mine is showing stuck in KY for almost 2 days now!

Mine looks just like that except that it has not updated to Kentucky yet. But it was on its way there. Figure they are the same and will get broken up from there. Im in pittsburgh. So Monday it is, unless it changes back to the 18th or then changes back to the 24-31, lol. We should all be very happy as we are still getting our machines at least a week early. Could of been even more than a week depending on when it delivered under the first delivery estimation. Enjoy and Merry Christmas!

OMG almost a whole day and still preparing to ship! I CAN'T TAKE IT ANYMORE!

Rumor has it that next year the late 2013 iMacs will have different shipping procedures/statuses.

1.) Processing
2.) Still Processing: No we WON'T give you any free accessories.
3.) Still Processing: One more phone call and we cancel your order.
4.) Still Processing: You have reached your daily limit of F5/CMD+R - try again in 24 hours.
5.) Still Processing: We're maybe going to build it today...., or next week.
6.) Building: Trying to find the right screw size for that hard drive caddy.
7.) Preparing for Shipment: Now where did those boxes and shipping labels go?
8.) SHIPPED!
9.) Just Kidding!
10.) Really Shipped!

*EDIT*

And in the time it took me to post, my iMac has shipped! Thankfully step 10, rather than step 8. Whew! :D

And there was great rejoicing in the land! And by land, I mean my house.

Shipped via FedEx from Shanghai. Now how do I obsessively check when it will show up? :D
