Yeah, I think the UPS tracking data does not update frequently enough to match actual location ...

Excited for Monday delivery!

Im still sitting in Anchorage, Alaska. I have all the same info as everyone else up until Anchorage, WTF. I seriously hate UPS.

OMG almost a whole day and still preparing to ship! I CAN'T TAKE IT ANYMORE!

Rumor has it that next year the late 2013 iMacs will have different shipping procedures/statuses.

1.) Processing
2.) Still Processing: No we WON'T give you any free accessories.
3.) Still Processing: One more phone call and we cancel your order.
4.) Still Processing: You have reached your daily limit of F5/CMD+R - try again in 24 hours.
5.) Still Processing: We're maybe going to build it today...., or next week.
6.) Building: Trying to find the right screw size for that hard drive caddy.
7.) Preparing for Shipment: Now where did those boxes and shipping labels go?
8.) SHIPPED!
9.) Just Kidding!
10.) Really Shipped!

*EDIT*

And in the time it took me to post, my iMac has shipped! Thankfully, step 10, rather than step 8. Whew! :D

And there was great rejoicing in the land! And by land, I mean my house.

Shipped via FedEx from Shanghai. Now how do I obsessively check when it will show up? :D
*checksdeliverystatus*

Damn still in Shanghai:(

Actually, a little further away, I think. Never went to Memphis.

My guess is that maybe there is no Fedex flight from Memphis to Denver, but there is one from Indianapolis to Denver? Who knows! I mean for me, the closest airport where Fedex lands is Newark... Fedex doesn't land at the two NYC airports. Luckily they can just drive from NJ to where I am in about 30 mins.

Cool! What's your estimated delivery date (on Fedex)

WilliamG If yours gets on one of the flights leaving in a few hours (which hopefully mine will be on) you should get it by Monday :)

If not it will sit for several hours in a warehouse like mine and some others' did, and ship 31-34 hours from now :(

Do we know why some are sent FedEx and some UPS? Which is better?

My guess is speculation that UPS gets orders without upgraded shipping.

Now that would have been me, except that I called Apple on Saturday afternoon (December 1) and asked the CSR to take my money and upgrade my shipping--with an emphasis on not doing anything at all if it would upset my order and arrival dates.

As for FedEx vs UPS . . . not even close. UPS is a horrid company when it comes to logistical execution. They either over-sell their system to the point of saturated failure, don't have enough equipment to service their package volume (same thing as first), or refuse to hire enough bodies to do the work--my money is on a combination of all three.

My tracking schedule serves as evidence that FedEx knows how to run things.

Did you get your 27" already? How many days it take from it first being scanned to when it was delivered?

Well, for me the ordering went live at around 2:57am EST (I'm in Canada) and I ordered as quickly as humanly possible -right down to the fact that I ordered the basic 27" system with no additional items etc and checked out immediately. It took me 2-3 minutes maximum to complete my order.
I received the actual confirmation email with a time stamp of 3:05am EST.
If you are still in processing, you should consider placing your order again. I ordered the standard config, no options -- I literally pressed Continue in the order page -- on 13 December and it went straight in Prepared for Shipping.

Ups ,wtf???

Mine was shipped today by UPS World Ease.
Delivers December 24th on apple shipped email.,got to be kidding me UPS

So anybody here Knows realistically how long will take this to get here in Hawaii?
By the way i choose free shipping .

I will call apple tomorrow... :apple:

Screenshots of order confirmation email and status page or it didn't happen! :D

Actually... It could have happened... maybe, if you're from some country other than the US

There isn't one! :D . I just got an email from Apple, though, that says the 19th for delivery, but who knows if that's right.

Awesome! Will keep fingers crossed. :D

It seems that most people are beating Apple's estimate by 1-2 days. Mine said 12/18, but Fedex says 12/17. I could have had it tomorrow if it made it onto the flight!

So basically, if yours leaves on the flight departing about 5 hours (or 7.5hrs from now you will get it Monday. If not, it will probably arrive Tuesday.

That sucks but probably just why it's free shipping it can take however long. I don't think apple can do anything to get it to you quicker.

How is there not one you didn't get a tracking number yet?

There just isn't! There's no estimated delivery date via the FedEx tracking info.

Well I won't hold my breath too much. :) It says it left the FedEx origin facility at 2:41pm, Dec. 14.

You're definitively so British! :p Love it!

Well - yesterday, while reading your post about going to bed and finally getting your status changed to preping for shipment, mine also went to that same status.

So, don't change a winning team! And continue to write fun quotes here!
And as usual, I hope that, while writing this post (not omitting to quote yours of course - it's part of the deal :D), I'll get my status also updated

Please, William G, keep on bringing luck to all of us, still waiting for delivery of their Xmas gift! :)

Your iMac basically ships with a bunch of others as one package, which is separated when it gets to its first destination. Here is an explanation on the FedEx site:
