If I am to get mine like FedEx states on Monday (Dec.17) all the way to the west coast, how in the hell is that possible if its sitting in Shenghai right now?

Yep mines the same, the 17th. Mine is currently in Jordan!!!!

I don't think it's in Jordan. TNT reuse shipping numbers, and mine said "AMMAN" for a while. This quickly changed to be "Shanghai - Shipment Collected From Sender" which makes more logistical sense.

TNT are rubbish though, mine has been in transit from Pudong International Airport for about 2 days now, which is worrying. Maybe it's flying the long way round to Sydney?

If I get saddled with UPS, I'm not seeing it until late next week. UPS blows putrid goats milk.

. . . and yes, I realize that there is a International Date-line involved here, but still, friggin impressive job on a delivery Apple estimated for 12/17 and FedEx slotted for 12/14, on an order that Apple promised delivery on by 12/21-12/28.

. . . . and the packaging . . . there's Apple, and then there's everybody else.

Scrap, was yours out of AK at 9:10PM on 11/11 and arrived at KY at 6:52AM 11/12???

Mine has been at "Arrived Scan" in KY since 6:52AM yesterday with now change.

As of tonight, mine still says AK at 9:10pm. But, I live in Washington state so mine probably doesn't go to KY.

This is what I got via email:

This notice alerts you that the shipment listed below is scheduled for delivery tomorrow.

Scheduled Delivery Date: Friday, 12/14/2012

If the scheduled delivery needs to be changed, select the Tracking Number below or log on to ups.com to request a delivery change from the tracking detail.

100% agree. Apple probably got cheaper UPS standard rate. In return UPS using even cheaper contractor. Going to take 1 week for those who had iMacs shipped from china the 10th.

I've had standard FedEx shipping for my MacBook Air ship and arrived from china in 3 days including weekends. The Chinese work weekends.

Hmm nice there is hope then that is a total of 3 days delivered from Shanghai...mine has been in route since yesterday so a Monday delivery would be 3 business days total.

I did call FedEx earlier and asked if the estimated delivery dates usually stand true she said yes most likely I'll have it Monday unless it gets held up in customs. I doubt it would though, right?!

Oh yea confused who's delivery tracking did you quote somebody else's? UPS does blow im always buying stuff and FedEx always seems quicker

FedEx vs. UPS -- What to Expect

So, for those of us in the USA who decided not to fuss with whatever standard shipping Apple decided to offer when initially ordering, it looks like your package will ship UPS "World Ease" (which seems to me they'll take their time getting it around the world).

From what I've been able to glean from my own UPS experience and those who posted on this thread, it appears that you should expect your package to be in transit about a week from the UPS origin scan (local time). Just in case (like me) you've watched others with FedEx shipping get theirs in a few day's time and thought you might be one of those guys, if you have the default shipping, you aren't likely to be one of those guys.

My advice: if you can beg the Apple guys to upgrade your shipping without it affecting your order, do it.

Not true. I have standard shipping with UPS World Ease. My iMac exported from Shanghai on Dec 12th. My UPS delivery date is Dec 14th. I did not phone Apple to expedite anything, just ordered on the 30th with standard shipping.

Apple's Monkey Experiment

I now realize that Apple is conducting an elaborate experiment, much like the one in the link below. Except in Apple's experiment, we're the monkeys. The the iMac shipping notifications are the grapes, and the lack of shipping notifications is the cucumbers. See that monkey on the left? I feel just like that monkey. Most of you are now like the monkey on the right, either enjoying the grapes or knowing you will soon. :D

27-inch iMac
3.4GHz Quad-core Intel Core i7, Turbo Boost up to 3.9GHz
8GB 1600MHz DDR3 SDRAM - 2x4GB
3TB Fusion Drive
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680MX 2GB GDDR5

Available to ship: 2 - 3 Weeks
Delivers Dec 24 - Dec 31 by Standard Shipping
Called and got shipping changed to Dec 20-27 via 2-3 day Business Days

After reading so many posts with so many permutations and timelines, I have no idea if I will get my iMac before the window Apple projects. Seeing so many already delivered or in the pipeline is very disheartening. <sigh>

No, no, that is my FedEx trace from Wednesday (my Tuesday night) in Shanghai thru to Thursday afternoon at my front door.

My Shipped notification email from Apple hit my inbox at around 22:30 PST Tuesday evening.
Sweet, here's what mine looks like considering the weekend do you think I'll see it by Monday like they say? I called and got 2-3 day delivery shortly after putting my order in. It'd be pretty damn nice FedEx usually keeps their scheduled delivery dates so I'm pretty stoked.

your iMac is sitting there with mine and quite a few others ready to fly out in the morning

Still processing for me too :(. My order confirmation email arrived 12:03 AM on the 30th, so I guess I'm in the 3 minute club?

well it came online around 11:56 pst. received my confirm at 12am pst. im in your club... sucks that people who ordered in the morning are receiving theirs while we are still processing. ughhh:mad:

Your tracking is identical to mine - except yours got picked up 2 minutes earlier. I got the same 10pm and 4am update 'at local fedex in Shanghai'...I guess they want to tease us a bit and remind us it's still over there. Fingers crossed we both get ours on Monday :D

Mine shipped out very early this morning. Apple is predicting a Tuesday arrival, while FedEx is saying Monday by 10:30am.

Ahh, so 7 minute club ;). I agree that it sucks. Although it will probably still arrive Dec 20-27 like it says, it would feel more fair if they went in order.
