Hi guys,

I know a lot of people are asking for this and as I seem to be one of the first with one I want to put a few benchmarks/info in this thread so that we can compare against the m390 & m395x as people get hold of them.
I will be including temps, power consumption, noise as well as the benchmarks themselves. I will be running the benchmarks in bootcamp as it is easier to monitor the gfx card plus there are more 3d benchmarks available.
If you have any requests, please fire away (as long as they are free) and I will do my best.

First things first, just installed gpuz, what is odd is that there is no temperature. but the clocks are:
gpu - 834 mem - 1365

OK running heaven benchmark, with the screen at 30% brightness it is pulling 150w from the wall.
temps rising very slowly and topping out at 88c with no noticeable increase in fan noise.
What settings should i choose for the heaven benchmark?

Hmmm... Fewer shaders is disappointing, like you say.

For Heaven, please:

1.) 1920x1080, Fullscreen, 8x Anti-Aliasing
2.) Ultra Quality
3.) Extreme Tessellation

and

1.) 4K, Fullscreen, 8x Anti-Aliasing
2.) Ultra Quality
3.) Extreme Tessellation

Cheers, not that great with AMD cards as I am used to NVidia, so any help appreciated.

3dmark11 default run scored: 8305 which is a bit lower than I was expecting. It was only pulling 140-150 from the wall and there was no fan noise so I am hoping there is plenty of overclocking headroom 3dmark11.JPG

Thank you. It would be interesting to have a direct comparison for TopGunn's Unigine benchmark of:

Render: BOTH openGL and Direct3D11
Mode: 1920x1080 8xAA fullscreen
Preset: Extreme HD

Yep, will run that shortly. Then I will do a few steam game benchmarks and if I get time I will play with drivers and overclocking

Yeah, will see if I can give that a boost with drivers and overclocking later

Now just downloading some games

Your OpenGL score in Windows is comparable to my results in Mac OS with the difference likely due to driver maturity. Its a shame. The M395 is behaving like the M295X.

What I wouldn't give for a 5K iMac with an nVidia 980m.

Yes, like you and many others I'd too like to see a bit of form-factor sacrificed for better cooling etc. allowing for meatier GPUs.
