I’ve always been interested in the idea of leaving the phone at home and just having a watch particularly when jogging. However this thing is beyond fugly.
The history of the company is not good. I stand by my comment.Lots of nobodies who haven’t created anything except bad jokes in their comments, with lots to say. If you can do better, let’s see your product. It’s a solid first step. And it’s pretty fun. Get over yourselves.
I’m afraid tech. innovation is ultimately no good if the product never gets delivered. In this case, after taking people’s money as far back as 2016 and still not delivering in 2020. The other issue is that the developers really quit communicating until recently to their early KickStarter buyers. Still no ETA for delivery for this buyer.Lots of nobodies who haven’t created anything except bad jokes in their comments, with lots to say. If you can do better, let’s see your product. A quick follow up. I just received via FedEx a package from WristCam. It contains a tin box with the camera watchband. So it is real. More later maybe with some example photos. And yes the band is ridiculously thick.A few points:
This is the same company that crowd funded an Apple Watch wristband camera in 2016. They were CMRA now they are WristCam.
This is bulky and pretty ugly. Why would anyone buy it? Because back during the original crowd funded campaign it was a much sleeker design that was advertised. So anyone who didn’t cancel their order will now supposedly get this.
Are they a scam? It is hard to tell. In 2016 they took my money in a crowd funded campaign and didn’t deliver anything. They’ve claimed all along that you could get a refund but when I looked into it, it looked like a lot of perseverance would be required. I gave up quickly. But it is interesting that they seem to still be pursuing the same goal despite what are obvious design setbacks.
I got a notice last month that they are going to ship. I’m very interested to see if they do. Given the modified design, it is unlikely I would use this but I’m truly interested to try it if it wasn’t a scam all along. We’ll see.
For anyone who actually wants this, if it actually ships, mine will be for sale shortly thereafter.![]()
I appreciate the update. Thank you. It won't be "real" too me until the box is on my deskA quick follow up. I just received via FedEx a package from WristCam. I haven't had a chance to do much with it yet but it is charged and it works. I've taken a couple of photos in low light and they have a distinct greenish cast. Probably fixable with white-balance adjustments. I'll try to make time tomorrow to get something with better lighting.I appreciate the update. Thank you. It won't be "real" too me until the box is on my deskThen I'll ship it to my nephew as a gift!
When they delivered mine, they just have to see your face and ask is it you. Doesn't seem like much security but whatever...Well I just got notice mine has shipped, it it is so fantastic it requires an indirect signature....not very wise I think during a Pandemic.
I'll be shipping it onward to my nephew. He go a young child, and a dog, so maybe they can have some fun with it.
I would love to see your review, as I am gifting mine, I won't even open it. This is kind of like a Back To The Future movie...since I ordered it 2016When they delivered mine, they just have to see your face and ask is it you. Doesn't seem like much security but whatever...
I still mean to do a mini review except the thing is so ridiculous to wear that I haven't had much ambition to try it out. It is currently sitting in its tin box. It's quite a strange product.
Found my invoice. Dated November 2, 2016. $149.What was the original KickStarter price of this device?
