I Thank you I used some app called Deeper from the Onyx developer to restore the Dock and then re-open cDock at first it relaunched the same 3D dock but after 3 seconds the 2D dock just popped up.

/Library/Application Support/SIMBL/Plugins/ is always empty, I found BlackDock.bundle in ~/Library

Yes v2 switched from using

/Library/Application Support/SIMBL/Plugins/
to
~/Library/Application Support/SIMBL/Plugins/

Avoids the problem of accounts that can not write to /Library/Application Support/SIMBL/Plugins/ and also makes it work like I had originally intended where different accounts on the same computer could have their own custom dock installed.

Thank you again, any way to donate?

Not at the moment nope

Thanks for making this!

However, I don't get a separator with the square dock  It shows with the rest.

Any ideas?

Yeah I'm aware. If you want it to have a separator make your own, name it vertical.png and place it here /System/Library/CoreServices/Dock.app/Contents/Resources/

This is what I used in the screenshot:

Please do create a PayPal account or provide another way to donate.
I really appreciate your app and would be glad to donate a small sum!
If you want to, send me a PM with your correct name and address, so I can send a Post Office money order. Checks for small amounts are too much trouble (often cost more to cash than they are worth, or take the longest time to clear), but PO money orders should work with no detriments, except you have to actually go to a PO to cash the money order. :D

2D Dock in OS X 10.9 (Mavericks)

Hi, I'm new to this forum. Like many people, I want to find a 2D dock solution with Mavericks...after installing SIMBL and cDock and do the trick to show the new 2D dock at startup, everything work perfect!! But my question is how can I edit the dock to give it more effects such as shadow? Which file do I have to edit, where is this file in my HD and what program should I use to edit this file?
Thanx!

Read the bottom part of this post I made earlier in the thread.

Hi,

Thanks for the App, but sorry, this is not working with me (10.9.1). Trying to update to 10.9.2, reinstall cDock, not working.

Now i'm using 10.9.2.

No error at _app.log and _simbl.log (it's only like before installed).

Thanks and sorry about my english.

I'm sure using latest, cDock_current.zip.

I'm trying with:
- install cDock with 10.9 and transparent (I see password permission then splash gray wallpaper and dock)
- nothing
- logout, then nothing
- restart, and nothing again
- run cDock, remove Custom dock and Remove SIMBL

This is log after uninstalled:
_app.log
Code:
Removing SIMBL and Custom dock

launchctl remove error: No such process
rm: /Users/pakpenyo/Library/Application Scripts/BlackDock: No such file or directory
rm: /Users/pakpenyo/Library/Application Support/SIMBL/Plugins/BlackDock.bundle: No such file or directory
rm: /Users/pakpenyo/Library/LaunchAgents/com.w0lf.BlackDock.plist: No such file or directory
rm: /Library/Application Support/SIMBL/Plugins/BlackDock.bundle: No such file or directory

_simbl.log
Code:
launchctl: Error unloading: net.culater.SIMBL.Agent

Looks like it never installed.

Are you able to enter your password before the dock restarts?

How do you put shadow?

Read the whole thread.

Still no option in Dockmod for a 2d dock at the bottom though the UI is better now. Wolf's docks are good but the spacing and dock size to icon ratio is all messed up compared to the originals when they are orientated to the bottom.

Yeah, I tried everything I could think of to make the Dock draw the icons lower so I could pull the Dock in tighter around the icons, but I couldn't figure it out. (There probably *is* a way, but I have no idea how to do it. It's not like Apple publishes info on how to modify system apps in memory.) The main problem with the way it is is that in order to make the Dock look balanced, I had to make it taller than it really should be - but as a result when you swipe over to a full-screen app and the Dock slides down, it kind of "hangs" a bit before completely hiding. Annoying.

Knowing Apple and their customisation policies', that glitch was a little eff you to anyone who tried to poke the dock in memory.

What drives me mad about the 3d dock is it actually impacts the frame rate of the G.U.I . Compare the U.I framerate before and after this terminal command (probably will only be noticable on slower GPU's) : defaults write com.apple.dock hide-mirror -bool true;killall Dock
Having the Dock binary be hard coded and then have it actually impact performance is a nice one-two fυck you by Apple. :)

Wow...! Someone actually sees my problem... :D

I didn't meant to be rude. I apologize. However, this solution is not very practical for what I am looking to do.

Bad link?

Edit: I found the link in the other thread that works okay. It's pretty coo! I just wish the apps didn't sit so high up and that it was all grey.

Clean & Mean Mac Screen !!!! ;)

cDock (transparent dock) worked perfectly for me on 10.9.2 with all my GeekTool and icon mods.

Cheers!

Are you able to enter your password before the dock restarts?

No. It's just restart.

Just info, i'm using Launchpad Manager for manage launchpad, Launchpad Manager require dock restart after change/modification the launchpad (hide app, etc).

Sorry I really have no clue what the issue is on your end.

I'd just try manually installing everything from the app.

Right click > show package contents

Contents/Resources/Bundles/Transparent.bundle >move to> ~/Library/Application Support/SIMBL/Plugins/BlackDock.bundle

Contents/Resources/2d >move to> ~/Library/Application Scripts/BlackDock/2d.sh

Contents/Resources/plist >move to> ~/Library/LaunchAgents/com.w0lf.BlackDock.plist
Open in text editor
replace the (username_here) with your actual username in this line
Code:
<string>/Users/(username_here)/Library/Application Scripts/BlackDock/2d.sh</string>

Open Contents/Resources/SIMBL-0.9.9.pkg
This part will require a password

Open Terminal.app
run these line by line:
Code:
killall Dock
launchctl load ~/Library/LaunchAgents/com.w0lf.BlackDock.plist
launchctl start com.w0lf.BlackDock

I tried this on 10.9.3 and no luck. :(

What exactly did you try?

Did you use version 3.3 of cDock?

The mod definitely wasn't broken with 10.9.3 because I'm using it right now just fine.

If you did use cDock 3.3... did you get anything unusual in your _app.log?

If not, I think I should update it so all the commands are verbose. Hopefully that might help identify any future problems. I still can't tell why it isn't working for pakpenyo.

Wow, mind = blown

This is really, really amazing. Great work. I wish there was a way to donate.

The only thing that would make it better is if you could get the background blur effect like on the default side dock. It's a subtle but important difference, imo. Especially for those of us going for the iOS7 look.
