The only things I don't like with Back To The Future esp in 1 & 3 is how easy the women are in it. Lorraine Baines is a bit floozy. She falls in love after a peeping Tom (George) falls from a tree or her own son in Calvin Klein underwear that was probably removed by her. Then she actually asked out Marty to take her to the dance, threw herself at him inside the car, and asked a kiss from George while they danced. But all is forgiven when you see Lea Thompson naked in All The Right Moves (1983)! Celebrity Movie Archive is your bff, all you George McFlys! Short Tom Cruise got luckier than short Michael J. Fox! She's petite but I like it that way in all her right areas!

Then Doc & Clara falling in love in a matter of a few days. I don't believe in quick romances like that. Not the Jack & Rose/Titanic-way. Felt so forced in to end the film series quicker. The only couple I liked in BTTF3 was seeing Michael J. Fox and Lea Thompson finally together. They make a cuter couple than watching Lea with that real-life weirdo, Crispin Glover.

After further reflection, I probably will rank Back To The Future Part II as my #1 favorite movie of all-time followed by the og BTTF. No other movies I have seen more than both along with Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure. They are hardly perfect movies and have their plotholes but I am still cool with it. Nothing is perfect. There is positive messages in all of them.

My new Top 5 (involving older favs)
1. Back To The Future Part II (1989)
2. Back To The Future (1985)
3. Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure (1989)
4. Maverick (1994)
5. Let It Ride (1989)

I will always love The Shawshank Redemption (1994) and probably seen it like 30 times. But its replay value is a little less now compared to that Top 5. I think Maverick (1994) which I saw before TSR is probably the one movie from the 1990's I watched the most times. It is a FAST-moving 2 hrs with funny dialogue and nice Randy Newman score. I have looped it many times even more than Kingpin (1996) which I have seen alot too. The difference between my 1-20 favorites is very incremental.

"Who you calling spook, peckerwood?"

With Casino (1995) and Goodfellas (1990), maybe the coolest to me when I was a teen and during my 20's. Casino taught me the term "sand ni**er" is for Arabs and saying the f-word a few hundred times like a Scorsese film would do. Yeah, it is like Tarantino where the film uses the n-word so freely. Maybe in your teens and 20's, it is pretty cool and funny. When you start having children or getting older, not something you would loop in front of them or yourself and deal with so much negativity and bad influences. At least Bill & Ted 1 was teaching me about historical figures like Socrates instead of despicable people from the mob.

So my Top 5 became more PG-rated and ones I probably loved the longest (circa 1990). The innocence was lost after the 80's. Back To The Future Part II got me into loving technology and sneaker. Back To The Future got me into skateboarding. Harmless interests instead of watching gangsters stealing and capping dudes in the head. And BTTF franchise is probably one of the few franchises I would buy from merchandising. I remember owning a Micro Machine Delorean bought at Universal Studios Hollywood in 1995 right after I rode on the BTTF the Ride.

BTTF 4 life!
Just add one thing: Lorainne asking Marty to the dance is one of those jokes a lot of people missed the first time around. She tells Marty that she doesn't like his girlfriend because she called him for a date (to the lake IIRC) and that in her day, a boy called a girl for the date. And then...

October 21, 2015 came and went. Memories remain stay the same. Back then, kids only thought about a hopeful future since we didn't have a long history on Earth yet. Now that we've reached 2015, Back To The Future Part II is a Blast From The Past. Alot of us look back at it with nostalgia rather than hope during a more innocent and mysterious time before Internet cynicism. It is probably a film series that could've had more than three films considering Universal made several The Fast And The Furious and American Pie films but BTTF also ended at the right time.

The 1990's and everything after is bland. Are there as many 90's retro nights as 80's? Back To The Future Part IV set in 1995 or 2005? No personality. Harder to distinguish 1995 from 2005 than 1975 from 1985. Hill Valley becomes grunge, hip hop, or emo? BTTF2 had the better vision of 2015. Teen comedies followed the Porky's or John Hughes formula. Either too raunchy or cheesy. BTTF Trilogy had the perfect balance. Give me a Cafe 80's over Cafe 90's anyday. The 1980's content endured and BTTF will always be part of that greatness and charm.
_

Back To The Future - A fish out of water film where Marty meet his parents in another distinguishable decade. The greatest BTTF of them all and one of the most original, unique teen comedy/adventures of all-time. All time travel films that came after this should always pay homage. The GOAT and most popular movie about time travel. Think of the originality this film brought in for a family/teen flick during the 1980's that were already flooded with them. Then think of Michael Bay, Michael Cera, and then laugh how bad originality is right now.

Back To The Future Part II - My personal favorite with the most actual time traveling of the series. The truest to time travel movies. It was bizarre, frenetic, and fun all at the same time. Underappreciated for its time like Temple Of Doom in 1984 for being the darkest of the series. It gambled on what the future would be like and the stakes were the highest here with several characters' fate hanging in the balance. My #1 favorite film ever because the influence it had on me.

Back To The Future Part III - A western romance film with a good final message that nothing is written in stone. Opposite of Zemeckis' most popular 90's film, Forrest Gump, where stupidity, luck, and destiny win. It was also the most laidback and quietest (lesser music in the background) BTTF ever with a very chillaxed atmosphere. Has the second biggest heart behind the og, and the one Christopher Lloyd enjoyed filming the most. Emmett & Marty reversed roles here.

My love for high-top shoes during the early 90's and anything with cool, future technology started with these scenes...

Just like my thirst for world history began here with "Bob" Genghis Khan...

Movies I've loved for 25 years and still counting before mature content and online started corrupting my mind with cynicism. I will still love BTTF and Bill & Ted until the day I die. If I could only travel back in time to be ages 9-10 in 1989-1990 all over again...

Nike delivers Back to the Future style-power-lace shoes to Michael J Fox
Sportswear firm turns science fiction, first predicted in 1989’s Back to the Future 2, into reality in aid of actor’s Parkinson’s research foundation

Back to the Future Day may not have yielded flying cars, hoverboards or drone dog walkers, but shoemaker Nike has delivered Michael J Fox his very own pair of genuine power-lacing trainers to commemorate Wednesday’s global celebration.

Fox’s charity foundation posted a photograph on Twitter of the actor wearing the silver-grey sneakers, which appear virtually identical to the futuristic footwear he sported in Robert Zemeckis’ 1989 film, on Twitter. The MAG shoes will go on sale via auction in spring 2016 to aid the Michael J Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research, according to Nike.

The sportswear firm confirmed in January that it was working on the power-lacing technology, which follows Toyota’s efforts to deliver a car that runs on rubbish – again mimicking science first predicted in 1989. In a letter to Fox, shoe designer Tinker Hatfield wrote: “Although the project started as science fiction, we’re now proud to turn that fiction into fact ... We wanted you to be the first to receive a living pair. If my calculations are correct, your pair should be with you shortly.”

Wednesday’s Back to the Future Day celebrated the point in time to which Fox’s character Marty McFly arrives – 21 October 2015 – in Back to the Future 2. Though other mooted technologies such as instant pizza, life-extending rejuvenation clinics and self-drying jackets have also inexplicably failed to manifest in time for the real 2015, seriously hardcore fans can purchase bottles of the futuristic beverage Pepsi Perfect – as seen in Zemeckis’ film – for $20.15 from the drinks manufacturer’s website.

Thanks for sharing these. As nostalgic as it was to watch these, it did leave me feeling rather sad. To me Michael J Fox will always be a teenager. To see him as he is now with Parkinson's just seems wrong.

How much do you think these will go for? My autistic daughter (13) will never learn to tie up laces. She could really do with a pair!
I'd like some too!

What about velcro fasteners for her, or slip on shoes?

My understanding is that they'll be first going to auction in the spring of 2016. Here's Fox putting them on for the first time:

And also wrong. Can't think of many film franchises we will be talking about 39 years after they were made.

Agreed. I don't see people 30 years from now praising the likes of the Pitch Perfect, Twilight, Divergent, or the new Transformers series like you would the BTTF, Star Wars, Star Trek, or even Ghostbusters series. Harry Potter, yes, but not the others; they don't have the staying power let alone sense of adventure, fun, or plot that these older movies do.

Everyone's entitled to their opinion but I agree with you guys. BTTF is one of if not THE all time favorite of mine

100% agree. Maybe the hunger games but that's about it.

Certainly agree yet I think LOTR trilogy will become a true classic as well (not the Hobbit, only LOTR ;))

Planning to watch Back To The Future Part II next Wednesday, October 21, 2015. All three are on my phone now and I've seen Part 1 and 2 at least 100x or more since I was 9. BTTF Trilogy is easily my favorite movie franchise of all-time even though I don't like Part III very much. It is pretty good and I love the ending but all that regret Doc said about time traveling ruining history and lives became moot once you saw that locomotive time machine. Part III had this major plothole that always bothered me. Where was DeLorean that Doc traveled back with to 1885? What was the whole point of that train sequence if Marty's DeLorean he got in 1955 ran out of gas?

I was wondering if I could still watch BTTF Part II (my fav of the series) ten years from now seeing how alot of the future envisioned 26 years ago are inaccurate now. I think I will. It has a lasting charm to it that endures and my love for them isn't solely based on nostalgia. Like Final Fantasy VII with the outdated graphics now. Helluva alot better than watching any BTTF than crap like Pixels (2015), Elf (2003), and that overrated Scott Pilgrim vs The World (2010) with an acting hack like Michael Cera! That guy has a personality that makes Frodo and Threepio look macho!

For the poster who said BTTF was overrated - Hello? Hello? Anybody home? Any movie can be called OVERRATED, BUTTHEAD! Pulp Fiction, The Big Lebowski, Fight Club, Forrest Gump, The Godfather, Citizen Kane, The Shawshank Redemption, etc. Any of them can be called overrated by distractors and all movies have them. And the ones with low scores probably deserved it,so don't hype up crap like Donnie Darko, boring Chris Nolan films, or The Matrix to me anymore. Alot of crap become cult classics.

Anyhoo, why don't the BTTF haters make like a tree and leave? Hit a manure truck while you're at it. :p

I wondered about that too, but if you think about it, if they went and unburied the car still in the cave, then that car would not be there in 1955 for Marty to use to get to 1885 and therefore Marty would not be able to get back to 1885 to rescue the doc. It would be like one of those paradoxes that could destroy the universe. As soon as they unburied the car, the Marty who just arrived in 1885 would disappear from 1885.

But what gets me, in the second movie, when they take off for 2015, and Biff sees the car and says "what the hell is going on here, wouldn't the Marty in 2015 be expecting his 1985 self to be coming to 2015? For example, if you got in a time machine today to head 5 years into the future, surely your 2021 self would know about it.

I still want that hover board though :)

Why would a future self know about who's coming to visit from the past? I don't think that can be related in reality.

They'd know when u told them... but i can't see why they would just know without u telling them, unless your future self knows more than u do... (that's what u call out-smarting yourself)

Okay, let me expain. If today you went and got a tattoo inked onto your hand which said "Apple", would the tatto be there in 5 years time? Answer is yes. Anything you do from this point will affect your future. As soon as Marty gets into the time machine to travel forward, he changes the course of his future so the Marty in 2015 will remember 30 years ago that he got in a time machine and travelled forward.

Yeah it breaks my heart seeing J Fox like this but saying that I did not know how bad it had become for him as I haven't seen him since Spin City. I still love the guy. Such a shame he has to suffer. :(
