And just like that on the very day about them, the Cubs lose their shot at paying in the World Series (let alone winning).
Just add one thing: Lorainne asking Marty to the dance is one of those jokes a lot of people missed the first time around. She tells Marty that she doesn't like his girlfriend because she called him for a date (to the lake IIRC) and that in her day, a boy called a girl for the date. And then...The only things I don't like with Back To The Future esp in 1 & 3 is how easy the women are in it. Lorraine Baines is a bit floozy. She falls in love after a peeping Tom (George) falls from a tree or her own son in Calvin Klein underwear that was probably removed by her. Then she actually asked out Marty to take her to the dance, threw herself at him inside the car, and asked a kiss from George while they danced. But all is forgiven when you see Lea Thompson naked in All The Right Moves (1983)! Celebrity Movie Archive is your bff, all you George McFlys! Short Tom Cruise got luckier than short Michael J. Fox! She's petite but I like it that way in all her right areas!
Then Doc & Clara falling in love in a matter of a few days. I don't believe in quick romances like that. Not the Jack & Rose/Titanic-way. Felt so forced in to end the film series quicker. The only couple I liked in BTTF3 was seeing Michael J. Fox and Lea Thompson finally together. They make a cuter couple than watching Lea with that real-life weirdo, Crispin Glover.
After further reflection, I probably will rank Back To The Future Part II as my #1 favorite movie of all-time followed by the og BTTF. No other movies I have seen more than both along with Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure. They are hardly perfect movies and have their plotholes but I am still cool with it. Nothing is perfect. There is positive messages in all of them.
My new Top 5 (involving older favs)
1. Back To The Future Part II (1989)
2. Back To The Future (1985)
3. Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure (1989)
4. Maverick (1994)
5. Let It Ride (1989)
I will always love The Shawshank Redemption (1994) and probably seen it like 30 times. But its replay value is a little less now compared to that Top 5. I think Maverick (1994) which I saw before TSR is probably the one movie from the 1990's I watched the most times. It is a FAST-moving 2 hrs with funny dialogue and nice Randy Newman score. I have looped it many times even more than Kingpin (1996) which I have seen alot too. The difference between my 1-20 favorites is very incremental.
"Who you calling spook, peckerwood?"
With Casino (1995) and Goodfellas (1990), maybe the coolest to me when I was a teen and during my 20's. Casino taught me the term "sand ni**er" is for Arabs and saying the f-word a few hundred times like a Scorsese film would do. Yeah, it is like Tarantino where the film uses the n-word so freely. Maybe in your teens and 20's, it is pretty cool and funny. When you start having children or getting older, not something you would loop in front of them or yourself and deal with so much negativity and bad influences. At least Bill & Ted 1 was teaching me about historical figures like Socrates instead of despicable people from the mob.
So my Top 5 became more PG-rated and ones I probably loved the longest (circa 1990). The innocence was lost after the 80's. Back To The Future Part II got me into loving technology and sneaker. Back To The Future got me into skateboarding. Harmless interests instead of watching gangsters stealing and capping dudes in the head. And BTTF franchise is probably one of the few franchises I would buy from merchandising. I remember owning a Micro Machine Delorean bought at Universal Studios Hollywood in 1995 right after I rode on the BTTF the Ride.
BTTF 4 life!
Nike delivers Back to the Future style-power-lace shoes to Michael J Fox
Sportswear firm turns science fiction, first predicted in 1989’s Back to the Future 2, into reality in aid of actor’s Parkinson’s research foundation

Back to the Future Day may not have yielded flying cars, hoverboards or drone dog walkers, but shoemaker Nike has delivered Michael J Fox his very own pair of genuine power-lacing trainers to commemorate Wednesday’s global celebration.
Fox’s charity foundation posted a photograph on Twitter of the actor wearing the silver-grey sneakers, which appear virtually identical to the futuristic footwear he sported in Robert Zemeckis’ 1989 film, on Twitter. The MAG shoes will go on sale via auction in spring 2016 to aid the Michael J Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research, according to Nike.

The sportswear firm confirmed in January that it was working on the power-lacing technology, which follows Toyota’s efforts to deliver a car that runs on rubbish – again mimicking science first predicted in 1989. In a letter to Fox, shoe designer Tinker Hatfield wrote: “Although the project started as science fiction, we’re now proud to turn that fiction into fact ... We wanted you to be the first to receive a living pair. If my calculations are correct, your pair should be with you shortly.”

Wednesday’s Back to the Future Day celebrated the point in time to which Fox’s character Marty McFly arrives – 21 October 2015 – in Back to the Future 2. Though other mooted technologies such as instant pizza, life-extending rejuvenation clinics and self-drying jackets have also inexplicably failed to manifest in time for the real 2015, seriously hardcore fans can purchase bottles of the futuristic beverage Pepsi Perfect – as seen in Zemeckis’ film – for $20.15 from the drinks manufacturer’s website.
Thanks for sharing these. As nostalgic as it was to watch these, it did leave me feeling rather sad. To me Michael J Fox will always be a teenager. To see him as he is now with Parkinson's just seems wrong.I'll just drop these here.

How much do you think these will go for? My autistic daughter (13) will never learn to tie up laces. She could really do with a pair!Oh.. one more thing.

We have enough issues finding shoes! Slip ones don't work for her. Velcro don't tend to be long enough for her high instep. What about velcro fasteners for her, or slip on shoes?

I'm pretty sure they will be out of my price range! Still give it 10 years, and we will probably be doing up our shoes from our iPhones! My understanding is that they'll be first going to auction in the spring of 2016. Here's Fox putting them on for the first time:

And also wrong. Can't think of many film franchises we will be talking about 39 years after they were made. This is heavy.

Agreed. I don't see people 30 years from now praising the likes of the Pitch Perfect, Twilight, Divergent, or the new Transformers series like you would the BTTF, Star Wars, Star Trek, or even Ghostbusters series. Harry Potter, yes, but not the others; they don't have the staying power let alone sense of adventure, fun, or plot that these older movies do.

Planning to watch Back To The Future Part II next Wednesday, October 21, 2015. All three are on my phone now and I've seen Part 1 and 2 at least 100x or more since I was 9. BTTF Trilogy is easily my favorite movie franchise of all-time even though I don't like Part III very much. It is pretty good and I love the ending but all that regret Doc said about time traveling ruining history and lives became moot once you saw that locomotive time machine. Part III had this major plothole that always bothered me. Where was DeLorean that Doc traveled back with to 1885? What was the whole point of that train sequence if Marty's DeLorean he got in 1955 ran out of gas?
I was wondering if I could still watch BTTF Part II (my fav of the series) ten years from now seeing how alot of the future envisioned 26 years ago are inaccurate now. I think I will. It has a lasting charm to it that endures and my love for them isn't solely based on nostalgia. Like Final Fantasy VII with the outdated graphics now. Helluva alot better than watching any BTTF than crap like Pixels (2015), Elf (2003), and that overrated Scott Pilgrim vs The World (2010) with an acting hack like Michael Cera! That guy has a personality that makes Frodo and Threepio look macho!
For the poster who said BTTF was overrated - Hello? Hello? Anybody home? Any movie can be called OVERRATED, BUTTHEAD! Pulp Fiction, The Big Lebowski, Fight Club, Forrest Gump, The Godfather, Citizen Kane, The Shawshank Redemption, etc. Any of them can be called overrated by distractors and all movies have them. And the ones with low scores probably deserved it,so don't hype up crap like Donnie Darko, boring Chris Nolan films, or The Matrix to me anymore. Alot of crap become cult classics.
Anyhoo, why don't the BTTF haters make like a tree and leave? Hit a manure truck while you're at it.![]()
I still want that hover board though
Why would a future self know about who's coming to visit from the past? I don't think that can be related in reality.
They'd know when u told them... but i can't see why they would just know without u telling them, unless your future self knows more than u do... (that's what u call out-smarting yourself)
I'll just drop these here.
