Not yet - shall I? :)

I'm a little bit confused...

Can you make steps with download links and some settings to be made so that I can OC on my macbook pro 13'' 2010 using windows 7 64bits?

Which registry hack is need and etc..

Thanks.

why do people still use 3dmark06 for benchmarks? it is completely outdated, it does not really test your gpu all that much anymore with today's hardware. Vantage is where it is at for gpu testing just make sure you disable PhysX. your 5300 gpu score in 06 will probably drop to somewhere around 2 to 3k in vantage as it tests todays hardware better.

Aren't the default frequencies 450/950 for that GPU? That's some pretty serious overclocking! I've also got my CPU overclocked to 300 MHz FSB for a total of 2.85 GHz. You can probably do the same without a hitch...

How do you apply the settings for the CPU? I can change the slider in ntools, and press apply - But the system monitor stil says 266mHz FSB :S

OP: If you just clock it up in the program, and closes it - Will it run the OC'ed speed constantly?

Sorry I didn't react before. Here's the nvao.inf

Note to others: if you attach the relevant strings below to a nv_disp.inf or nv4_disp.inf, you should be able to use any driver with your video card with the "have-disk" method through device manager.

nvao.inf relevant strings: (the first was mine..)

NVIDIA_DEV.08A0.01 = "NVIDIA GeForce 320M"
NVIDIA_DEV.08A0.02 = "NVIDIA GeForce 320M "
NVIDIA_DEV.08A0.03 = "NVIDIA GeForce 320M "
NVIDIA_DEV.08A0.04 = "NVIDIA GeForce 320M "
NVIDIA_DEV.08A0.05 = "NVIDIA GeForce 320M "
NVIDIA_DEV.08A4.01 = "NVIDIA GeForce 320M "
NVIDIA_DEV.08A4.02 = "NVIDIA GeForce 320M "

Thanks for that one...the nvao.inf file looks pretty good, actually, and compares well with the modified nvision configurations.
What overclock frequencies have you finalized for the 320M using the Boot Camp drivers? I would recommend sticking with those rather than fiddling with modified desktop versions until NVidia officially releases a notebook driver update which includes this GPU.
I only play IL-2 Sturmovik 1946 regularly and would be glad to post frame rate comparisons between the 13" MBP 2009 and 2010 models as soon as mine arrives.

Core Clock: 706Mhz
Shader: 1309Mhz
:)

Everything runs great. Bootcamp nvidia driver 196.81 (I think it was .81)
Are there newer official drivers out there I might use, ssn637??

And do you know reasons as to why my ntools config does not allow FSB tweaking?! I am totally clueless in that regard :eek:

This only allows to overclock.

What about underclock for battery purposes, do you know a way to do it?

Same here. Got my 9400M Stable at 450/900 but no changes on the CPU takes effect :S

Wow, that's pretty impressive! I don't know if I'd take them that high...but so long as temperatures are under control then why not? When I try to push the 9400M that hard I end up with the dreaded "your system has recovered from a serious graphics problem" message after frequent blackouts.

There are no official NVidia drivers available which support the 320M GPU, at least not yet.

I don't know why the option to modify the CPU FSB settings isn't available, but when I receive the new model I'll verify it for you. Seems a bit strange since it's the same CPU family as the mid-2009 MBP.

Underclocking is only possible, as far as I know, in the Mac OS X operating system. I use CoolBook V2.17 for this and it works quite well, although someone reported having problems with the 2010 models.

Allright thanks for the input :)

Prolonged gaming session tonight - everything (PES2010 2hours, ModernWarfare2MP 0.5hours) ran fine. Macbook Pro is a little warm, fans are at 4000rpm.

So this should be fine for prolonged use, am I right?

TF2 looks BEAUTIFUL.

Even desktop 9600GT can't do DX 10 well. You need to play Crysis on Very High? 3DMark06 is DX9 only, and most of games you can play on that little 64bit VRAM integrated GPU should be using DX9

I'd love to see some GPU-Z action.

Same here.

This is actually looking pretty promising for gaming, more than I was expecting. I may very well have to get one of these when the back-to-school discount comes out. RTS and RPG should perform fairly reasonably. And good to know that you can indeed overclock.

Finally got my MBP 13" yesterday and have just finished a clean installation of Windows 7 Ultimate x64. Overclocking the GPU with NVidia System Tools is working just fine, but I cannot adjust the CPU FSB Frequencies either. Not sure what to do about that one...if anyone has a suggestion I'd appreciate it! Although if I recall correctly, when performing benchmark tests while gaming the overclocked GPU had much more of a positive effect on frame rates than the CPU did.

With the 320M overclocked to the same frequencies as the GT 330M (575/1265) I scored 5279 points in 3D Mark06 (2.66 GHz CPU, 8 GB RAM). That's more than double my previous score with the overclocked 9400M and a faster running CPU (2.53 overclocked to 2.85 GHz)!

With the new 13" MBP I can report the following test results:

CPU Intel P8800 2.66 GHz (Unable to overclock)
GPU 320M Overclocked to 575 / 1265 MHz
8 GB RAM
750 GB 5400 rpm WD Scorpio Blue HDD

3D Mark 06 Score : 5280 (1280 x 800 No AA)

My previous 3D Mark 06 score with the 2009 MBP 9400M (overclocked) was 2567

IL-2 Sturmovik 1946 Benchmarks :

Track "The Black Death" 1280 x 800 resolution
Perfect settings
Frame rate test results

9400M (2.53 GHz 2009 MBP) Overclocked to 575 / 1265 45 fps

320 M (2.66 GHz 2010 MBP) Default 450 / 950 72 fps

Overclocked 575 / 1265 95 fps

Highest recorded temperature using GPU-Z was 82° C with Lubbo's Fan Control running

I've effectively doubled the frame rate with the 320M GPU...

Finally installed Battlefield Bad Company 2 and I am very impressed with this integrated card.

With AA/AF at 1x, high detail, low shadow, medium for everything else I am getting very fluid, smooth framerates in multi-player (at native resolution).

I haven't' tweaked the game's config file yet, nor have I shut down any Win 7 services so I expect I can squeeze a bit more out.

I'll be doing some FRAPS testing later today but I am surprised that the experience is so smooth. I played the same game on my M11x (335GT, SU7300) and it was very difficult to tell which machine was better.

I have a digital copy of Mass Effect 2 waiting in the wings so I'll be posting some thoughts, fps specs on that game as well.

Bad Company 2 isn't running great on mine. Care to provide a FRAPS-screenshot?
