IM so angry...

the UK gets some of these models but the USA gets NONE??

Almost all of us were in the first 3-4 minutes, so this means Apple didn't prepare one god damn 38mm space grey for the USA? How is this goddamn possible?

I'm so angry i could scream, and don't quote me the "delivery window." Everyone else is getting theirs shipped except our ONE model? How is that even possible?

Ugh, Apple really screwed this one one up big time.

I agree. Out of all the freaking different models and on top of that most people said they didn't want the 38 cuz it was too "small" but of course they have none for us on launch day. Incredible

Deep breath. There, good.

Having said that, I was excited when the UK had a lot of movement on the 38mm SG, figuring the US would too (as I recall some with fairly "late" order times got theirs into pre-shipping). I took it as a sign that the line for the 38mm SG wasn't as long as I had thought. Now, who knows?

A lot of people reported next day shipping from UPS, so there could be an avalanche later today yet (or at least a few wayward falling rocks), and maybe the UK ones were just earlier because they had to go further.

(Meanwhile, millions of drones hover just out of sight above the homes of america, waiting to swoop in and deliver watches, like owls delivering letters to the Dursleys.)

Surprise drone delivery! LOL

IF they do end up screwing over the 38mm people, I'm going to send a letter to the top Apple brass reminded them what it means to be a true day one Apple fan and supporter. It will fall of deaf ears, of course, but it will make me feel better. Nothing inflammatory, but more of a "I'm so disappointed," thing.

The 38mm is even worse than the 42. It's harder to get than a freaking UNICORN!
Plus it didn't help the confusion that Apple decided to try a new pre-order system. YAY!

I said this over in another 38mm Space Grey thread but I figured I'll go ahead and post it here too as I see it as relevant.

Seeing that I haven't seen a single account of a 38mm Space Gray Sport being dispatched in the US, the only logical conclusion in my opinion is that we'll see some movement later on today. I am in the 5/13 - 5/27 group, but I haven't lost hope for getting my watch very soon. Apple was likely using the same algorithm for each Sport model to calculate the shipment dates; to me that means that there is something that they know that we don't. Apple has some impossibly fast shipping methods that can seem like magic. Also keep in mind that we haven't seen any pink bands ship either. Judging from what I've seen online, there doesn't seem to be a great negative disparity between shipment times and estimated shipment times of the Sport models - except for the Pink and Space Gray (so far). It seems like models have been shipping one at a time regionally and we should at least see some accounts of Pink and Space Gray model shipping today.

Just my thoughts.

Guys...relax about the UK having movement. You have to realize their like 6 hours ahead of us.

AKA 6 hours closer to launch day. Cool it jeez. You want to see movement in the UK because that means there will likely be movement here in the US later today.

Just realized something...So originally I had planned on ringing the UPS/Fedex customer center to allow them to hold my package once I knew it had shipped so I could pick it up early on Friday. Obviously that was before the EOD.

Let's assume that we all get incredibly lucky and there's an avalanche of overnight shipments later today. The closest distribution/customer centers near me close at 6 PM. As long as my unicorn watch ships and notifies me before 6, I should be able to call UPS/Fedex in time for them to hold it. After 6, I'll have to miss the shipment as I will be at work and pick it up at the center after work. Or just skip work.

The movement was a day or two ago, not today. That's why it is actually a bad sign.

I got my order confirmation at :01.

Still processing. AppleCare charged around 3:30pm EST yesterday.

Received email of death last night.

I cannot wrap my brain around the fact that my order was confirmed within 1 minute of the pre-orders going live and it's still processing.

Same here! I'm just glad I didn't tell everyone at work that I woke up and successfully preordered it so early, I'd probably be bragging that I'd have it tomorrow...

Ordered at 3:02 EST, 38 mm space grey, to NYC

No email of death
No amex charge
Still processing

Does anyone know if any planes are coming in with shipments this afternoon? You think they would be done with the 42 haul and move on with the first window of 38's..

Yes, there are 4 planes headed from China to Anchorage due in about 4-5 hrs. Over the past few days, people got charged and status changes when the shipments are processed at that UPS hub. Hope it's all the missing 38 SG!!!

The OP is partially correct, there are actually 11 cargo scheduleds and charters (KAL, Polar, China Cargo, UPS) arriving from Shanghai PVG to Anchorage today. I posted detailed FlightAware Pro data on the 4-6 week and Space Gray threads last night. However, it doesn't necessarily mean that our 38 SGs are on any of them. It doesn't even mean that they are necessarily Apple charters.

Don't bother using the /iphone link - it's useless. Don't know why it's even still up. iPhone 6s were assembled and shipped from Shenzhen and Hong Kong. The Watch is being assembled by Quanta outside of Shanghai, halfway across the country. Two completely different supply chains.

Someone non-trollish on the forum spoke with Apple Online Store Executive Relations earlier today. There is reportedly a production/logistics challenge with our model. Optimism for a big bunch hiding in a distribution center aside, it's really the only explanation for how slow this one has been moving. Thread.

"There have been some issues with my "specific configuration", meaning the 38mm Space Grey Sport, and they are working as fast as they can to get them out. She re-iterated that the two week delivery window is very much an added cushion, and it will be very unlikely first wave orders will be delivered later than next week."

Thanks for the clarification. Guess I'm a glass half-full guy, hoping the issues were resolved and we'll get our watches tomorrow, even with the EOD :p. I heard in the past they did do same-day delivery - true?

I'm totally with you and would love to see movement on our watches too. Just being realistic.

Update: Just ran a scan on scheduled cargo arrivals to PANC and it's not looking great for Friday - lots of very late Thursday arrivals, tomorrow, and an unusual amount of weekend traffic.

If I were a betting man, I'd say that they are staging for a big push next week. (The last column is arrival time in AKDT).
