Just changed my billing info so hopefully that will help my order process faster. They already charged $49, I am assuming for my Apple Care

Looks like you were a minute after me on your order. Let's hope we both get ours next week!
 
Just to update:

I received my confirmation at XX:17, and I still haven't received a charge or shipment notification.

Seeing all the movement today in the XX:15s and XX:16s has me hoping that I'll wake up to good news tomorrow though.
 
Are there more planes tonight? Ever since my bank denied my charge I've been stuck at processing. Never have moved to preparing for shipment even though I caught it right away this morning and they charged my credit card and few min later.

I ordered my 38mm SG during the evening of April 10th with a confirmation email time of 11:45 pm central. My original shipping time frame was June but on April 27 I got an email saying that my watch is shipping sooner and my new time frame was May 21 - Jun 4. I'm so excited for it to come I just wish I wouldn't of waited so long on the 10th to order it.

Delivers: May 21 - Jun 4 by Standard Shipping

I didn't realize that they had a tier starting in 5/21. I guess that should mean that those of us in the 5/13-5/27 window should realistically expect shipment before 5/21.

Yeah, a lot of people who were just in the "June" group originally got bumped to that window. Apple has historically been conservative with their shipping estimates. I'd suspect that group gets them before 5/21, and that most of the 5/13-27 group gets them before 5/13.

Given that we went from xx:06's and xx:07's to xx:15's and 16's this weekend makes me think this is definitely the case.

I would assume so however it seems like they aren't shipping these watches in order of what time you ordered. It looks like a number of facts like location, model ordered and the stock for that model depend on when you get it. I've just learned not to get my hopes up when it comes to preorder shipping.

Stock of the particular model is most important, country is also huge (it seems  allocated by country), and location within the country, at least the U.S., provides some extra variability, though it seems minor, especially since it's been shown that while the email time stamp is usually in the ballpark, it occasionally doesn't match what  has in their system at all.

Plus a bunch of people are either lying to mess with us, read something wrong, or made a typo. :D

I ordered my 38mm SG at 4:33 EST. my status was recently changed from June shipment to May 21- June 4. Based on the rate things are moving do you guys think there is any chance it will arrive by May 15? Hoping to have this for my birthday.

I ordered my SG 38mm at 10:45pm April 10th and my status updated to the exact same shipping date (May 21- June 4). I think there is a good chance we could see ours shipped early because the 38mm was definitely not as popular as the 42mm and they are cranking them out a ton faster.

My UPS tracker when live overnight. Origination is Rialto CA. Destination is mid-atlantic via Next Day Saver (10a-2pm). Delivery is tomorrow. Signature required. As of now the package hasn't been picked up, but it's next day delivery so not relevant this early.

I haven't really been paying attention to Apple's shipping methods this time, but looks like Apple is flying them over from CA in bulk and doing fulfilment in the U.S. rather than drop shipping direct from the factory.
 
Anyone have a general idea of when I should expect it to switch from "Preparing for Shipment" to "Shipped"?

It moved to "Preparing for Shipment" at some point overnight... and based on what I've seen from others, I expected it to have progressed on to "Shipped" by this time.

I'm hoping it goes out soon so that I can have it by Wednesday.

Really? That would be a pleasant surprise.

They haven't even told me that it has shipped yet... so that would require overnight shipping?

It seems like others are getting it on the 2nd day after they get their shipping notification - so that is my expectation. If I have it tomorrow, I'll be very pleased.

(I actually have another unrelated shipment coming via UPS tomorrow, so I'm sure I'll hold out hope until he comes to my door without the Watch).

I have now received two watches, and they both shipped basically overnight.

For the 42, I woke up on 4/29 to find that it had gotten charged during the night and was preparing for shipping. It shipped in the evening of 4/29 and arrived on 4/30.

With the 38, it was charged / shipped on Friday (May 1), UPS flew and drove it all the way to NYC by Saturday morning, where it sat all weekend and was delivered today (Monday). If it had been going to an address where they had Saturday delivery, it would have been delivered on Saturday.

When the watch ships, Apple will give you a tracking number, and you can follow it as it moves through the UPS system, so you would know if it is coming tomorrow or not -- you don't have to wait for the UPS truck to come before you find out.
