Nothing about this device screams 'premium'. First of all it is way too cheap - now anyone can buy one. I don't like that at all, it is very non-Apple catering to the casual consumer.

Double checked: in Poland (member of the EU, not eurozone) the phone pre-tax costs 462$. This is just crazy. This 63$ is a premium paid to Apple for living in Europe.

Isn't 20% of the UK price the VAT? $399 in the US is before tax. Each state has different sales tax, from 0% to 9.75%.

Yes, on the Apple Store online they list a SIM-free model right off the bat.

If that was the case then it'd be $459 in NZ instead of $749. The exchange rate is definitely considered... and a considerable "buffer" is added too.

I think the starting price of £359 is very reasonable. What's not reasonable is 16GB internal storage.

So then we have £439 for 64GB. 64GB- much better. Bit of a steep price hike though.

I'm still unlikely to return my Galaxy S7 that I paid £489 for as I really like the camera. If this SE were to have a better camera than the 6S I'd be all over it but of course I knew that was never going to happen!

Sure, but in Poland (member of the EU) the price is 463$ before any tax. The 64$ go directly to Apple, don't blame that on local politics.

Taxes are one thing, and you don't see anyone complaining about them here. The problem is Apple is taking any chance to increase their profit in Europe. The prices before taxes have gone considerably up.

it won't effect the prices of the iPhone 6 plus or 6S plus due the difference in screen size. People will pay more for larger sized phones.
