i doubt anyone would actually spend $700 for a phone. problem with that is that even though the canadian dollar is at par with the U.S., prices are always higher in canada, so that would probably make a 32GB iPhone around $750-$800 and when you can get a blackberry or a HTC Touch for 150-200 tops i doubt anyone would go for an $800 iPhone, no matter how good it is.
The fact that the iPhone will be using a single 32 gig flash chip makes sense in the other pricing. They are not cheap.
Assuming the case is redesigned, which all speculation and rumor seems to point to, it should mean they could easily fit two 16GB flash chips in.
Ignoring the price for a minute...
How do you think video conferencing would be implemented? Would this be an option when on a call, or would it work with some kind of messenger?
Videos would probably upload to YouTube seamlessly - too bad, I'm way more into the new Flickr video.
GPS would be interested. One thing that would absolutely rock is Google Street View integration. That's a tall order, though - I wonder what an Apple-designed GPS would look (and sound!) like.
Unfortunately the prices sound right to me! $699 is steep but the Functionality will be out of this world! Other phones may have 3G and GPS etc but when it is implemented correctly it is effectively allowing you to replace a multitude of devices with your iPhone. That appears to be the angle taken so far and could very well continue. Steve will spell it out and sell it in such a way that it wont sound so bad!! LOL
$699 for 6 devices
Phone
iPod
High Speed Internet Device
Portable/Automobile GPS Unit
Video Communicator
32Gb Flash Drive![]()
as much as I'm excited for this phone there is no chance in the world I will pay more than the 400/500 USD price point Apple has set now...
I was one of the suckers who bought the phone for $600 -- fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me
I actually called Apple and one of the workers there had told me that "The new iPhone will be 3G, with GPS, video calling / video chat, video recorder, better camera, will be slightly thicker, flush headset jack, and there will actually be a function for you to be able to watch t.v. from your iPhone" altho these rumors from them are not confirmed thats what most of them told me. And yes there will be a black iPhone from the rumors that ATT had told me. They said there might be a 8Gb iPhone a 16 for shure and maybe a 32GB. The price range they have quoted where around the same price range as the old iPhone but Apple and ATT are working on making the phone available for upgrades. a.k.a Lower price with a new activation or a extended plan.
3G-8GB-$299.00
3G-16GB-$399.00
3G-32GB-$499.00
8GB-$199.00
wait and see...
That is the only way to sell over 10M in 2008

You know what you here in a basketball game when the referees make a bad call? Bull ****.
"I called Apple up" yeah, oldest trick in the book. How does it feel that even Steve Jobs is laughing at you at the moment?![]()
The gap of 16 GB storage in the iPod touch shows a $100 difference.
16GB iPod touch = $399
32GB iPod touch = $499
8GB iPhone = $399
16GB iPhone = $499
32GB iPhone = $599
Apple holds a $100 difference between a 16GB iPod touch and a 16GB iPhone, $100 for the phone. 32GB iPod touch $499 32GB iPhone $599.
