It appears as if most of the notifications for UPS tracking numbers and/or the bank charge occurs either when your Apple Watch order leaves China, or when the plane touches down in Louisville, KY (for East Coast buyers). In other words, if you don't get a notification around 12:30am or 1:00am(EDT), you probably won't get it until the following day. Does this sound correct?
That's hard to say. My scan was at 4:38am in Louisville enroute to Mpls. It's a Next Day Air Saver home delivery so gtd by end of day. I bet it comes today but later in the afternoon. Fingers crossed. UPDATE... just checked again and it arrived Mpls at 5:32! Today will be a good day to work from home!!

has anyone had their status changed from 'processing' to 'preparing for shipment' during the daytime hours or is all of the movement happening at night and early morning? Just curious. I'm in this group and also stuck in processing hell.

Michael I think you and I will get ours around the same time, which may not be soon. My order confirmation was 4:45 eastern.
Scoping other threads it looks like 3:10 eastern is the cutoff date for being included in the first wave of orders, 4/24-5/8. I'm hoping that there was an intense crush of orders in the first 15 minutes then it slowed down, but that's probably wishful thinking. I would be surprised to get my watch much before 5/27, my backend cutoff date.
I appreciate the reply. I've been following this thread from the beginning, but it can be difficult to decipher any meaningful information. I'm not really hoping for much of an early delivery date at this point. Its just kind of annoying. I've probably checked my order status 1,000 times.
Does anyone have this issue "Pending vs Charging" My bank was charged 4/30 and some said I'd get my watch soon after, like next day. Nothings moved and I'm on day 5

Mine changed to "Preparing for shipment" on Sunday afternoon sometime between noon and 5p Eastern.
Can someone inform my wife that she must stop ordering things that arrive by UPS during the next week or two?! I get an email UPS notification that a package will be delivered to my house tomorrow! My blood pressure rises. I get that giddy feeling in the pit of my stomach. My anticipation hits a fever peak. Only to open the email and see that, instead of my Apple Watch coming tomorrow, rather, it's a pair of shoes from Onlineshoes.com! Ugh!

I'm at 3:30am eastern for my 42mm Milanese and no movement here.
It would be nice to get it early, but somehow I think I'm definitely going to end up in the delivery target May 13th - May 27th.
My wife is at 3:04am 38mm Small Black Modern Buckle, and no movement for her either. Same range 5/13 - 5/27.

My 42mm SG Sport (XX:05:57) is on its way today.
When I ordered my iPad 3 for delivery on the drop day, UPS left my iPad on the truck that went back to a regional facility in a different city. Had to wait until the following Monday to get it. Not a tragedy or anything, but I'm hoping I have better luck today

Logged in and changed delivery address to where I work and as soon I confirmed the change, status went to "Preparing for Shipment"

Why does everybody seem to think that orders are being distributed by exact time of confirmations? This is not necessarily the case. orders are being processed by availability and location only. So if there are enough 42 mm SG Sport watches available to ship, whether the order is an xx:06, 07, 08, 09, 10 or beyond it really doesn't matter as long as the quantity is available there is a chance that all of these orders could be fulfilled at the same time or time frame.
Because people actually think their individual watch is being hand delivered from China on a private jet.
It depends entirely on the watch version. I ordered the 42mm Space Gray Sport (easily the most popular of the preorders) with my conversation at X:06 and I was well into the second wave already.
