They have a very good track record, they beat my 6+ estimate by quite a bit.

Earlier this month I ordered a BTO 2015 13" MacBook Pro (just upped the RAM) and got a delivery estimate of April 8-10 and it arrived on the 9th. Still pretty good.

I ordered a retina imac and it was due 17-23 december and it arrived 2 weeks early....

I've never wanted a company to take my money so badly...lol

Best part about being in this group, my flight home from college is the 14th...

So it's a tight deadline. I hope I can get my order just a few days earlier or I'll have to change my order address last minute.

I got my iPhone September 26th. I can't remember what the original ship date estimate was.

You were probably in the October 1-6 group with me.

----------

The amount of people here who think they're owed a watch in the first batch is incredible. Regardless of how quickly you ordered, your delivery estimate is May 13th-27th, so don't get your knickers in a twist unless the watch fails to arrive by May 27th.

I get what you're saying, but I also find it a bit hard to fathom that a one minute delay (it seems like the cut off between wave one and wave 2 was 3:04-3:05) sold out an entire run of SG watches and has a two-week delay.

Which is why my money is on us getting something next week.

I (wrongly) consider myself in the first batch because I ordered my watch in 3 minutes and got stuck with a May 13th date. I want to believe that I am part of the first batch since I ordered so fast. Had I ordered at 8am and got this date, I probably would accept it.

As you yourself admit, you wrongly consider yourself in the first batch. It's clear that the first batch supplies were severely constrained, and that demand for this watch was simultaneously very high. I promise you Apple didn't put you in this wave out of spite. If they could get everyone who wanted a watch a unit on Friday, they would gladly have done so and taken all that money and run a victory lap on their amazing launch. But that's not reality.

Again, you are not owed anything, regardless of how quickly you ordered, except for your watch delivered within the window they provided. Do you think I like being in the second wave? Hell no! My wife ordered me my watch as a birthday present, and my birthday is in the first wave shipping window. So the present is going to miss my actual birthday. But you know what? I'll still have a great birthday anyway, and I know my watch will arrive soon enough.

The sad thing about that is you can never tell if someone is telling the truth or not.

The way I tell is when I see 10 or 20 posts like this, not one or two. Around 3 million people preordered the watch. Safe to assume a few hundred of them (at least) are MacRumors members. If Apple is really getting ahead on filling orders, we'll start to see a lot of posts with confirmation.

When it's just one or two people saying it, I assume they are just messing with us, because with everyone going nuts on this forum, it's just too tempting (heck, I'm even tempted sometimes).

Hit the nail on the head. Our deliveries are scheduled from May 13-27. We will get our watches then. Crazy getting upset that you aren't getting it sooner, when you ordered knowing you'd get it May 13-27.

Yep, the number of people whining about it is insane. I ordered at 12:03am PT, and guess what! May 13-27. It is what it is, and Apple clearly didn't have some models available for April 24th. So it goes.

Yeah, it's pretty easy to fake for many people. I'm not really sure why launches such as this one bring out so many trolls.

Because we set ourselves up for trolling. If we all just chilled and maybe checked our order status the week before the specified shipping window that we were given, then we wouldn't be so ripe for trolling.

I'm in this delivery time frame and I ordered at 4:01am PT and still hoping it gets here earlier lol.

How does Apple own my life though?!

You will not get your watch Friday. Sorry.

Sorry to be the voice of reason, but the 4-6 week folks (which includes me) will not get their watch on Friday. You will get it earlier than May 27th but not Friday.

Here is why.

The dumb thing Apple would do is lump an additional hundreds of thousands of product fulfillment of a BRAND new watch on day 1 when they do not have to. They have calculated the day 1 numbers and anticipated the level of support they will need once this is released into the wild. They will send ALL the batch one's to be delivered by Friday and not a single one more. They will evaluate the support calls to their call centers and support trips to the stores after the weekend. They will make adjustments, then release the next wave when it strategically makes sense. After these two batches, I would then expect them the have an accurate handle of what they can support in future waves and would expect the June orders to come in much earlier.

My point is. For us in the 4-6 week group. Save yourself the heartache and come back to the forums next Monday.

Good luck!

I'm not sure it's driven by support calls. I think its driven by inventory control. To meet all the initial demand on the release date, they would have had to guess at what the demand would be for each watch combo months ahead of time, which is impossible (they have never sold a watch before and have no data to look at). If they did this, they would have ended up with excess inventory in some categories, which is a business risk that Apple simply doesn't take. So they are handling this in phases. Today they have a much better sense of demand and are undoubtedly ramping up production of the different lines accordingly. But yes there will be a delay and customers have no reason to believe their watch will come any sooner than the window they were given.

Why doesn't TouchID work when checking the order status page on the iPhone? Would really make my obsessive checking much easier.

I have a May 13-27 delivery ESTIMATE.

If my watch arrives sooner, I'll be happy. If it arrives. ON TIME according to the ESTIMATE, I'll be happy.

By the estimate I will be able to read on some of the bugs that pop up and get more ideas on how to use the watch while I wait.
