All I can imagine is support people going home, curling up in bed crying, sobbing "It says April 24-May 8. WHy do they keep calling? Why do they keep calling? We all float down here, Georgie. We all float."
Seems the only people getting early delivery are watches with sport bands, doesn't surprise me they probably made a lot of those bands.
Not entirely true. I got a sport band and I haven't been charged yet. In one of the other threads someone with the link bracelet was charged and order changed to preparing for shipping. Not sure what method to the madness Apple is using but it's certainly madness!

My theory now is they randomly try to process a little of everyone's order. Based on date and type of watch. It's not sequential. It's like a hodgepodge of I will complete a few of these, a few of those. Etc. So that at least they try to hit everyone. Some from April, some May, some June. And next week they will do the same again. And so on.

My theory is that they look at your social media and judge whether or not you are worthy of receiving a space object.
My theory is now that they are not having the watches available this Friday in the Apple stores they are going through the time intensive process of allocating that inventory to all the preorders that would have been delayed.
I would imagine this is a logistics nightmare on a global scale.

Ordered a 42mm Sport (White band) at 3:40am ET on 4/10/15. Was given the May 13-27 window.
Credit card charged today at 7:21pm ET.
Order is now Preparing for shipment.

Ordered a 38mm Sport (space grey) at 3:19am ET on 4/10/15. Was given the May 13-27 window.
That one is still processing. As is a Milanese band with a 4/29-5/12 window and a black sport band with a generic May date.

I guess I am being unrealistic. I'm getting agitated watching everyone else get 'preparing for shipment' while I am still processing. I ordered at :04am and I'm getting out-shipped by some people who ordered different models hours/days later.
I've participated in around five preorders for iPhones/iPads in the past and I pride myself on being very fast and always getting the Day 1 delivery date. This is the first time ever that I've been pushed back and I can't handle it.
i think I'm not getting mine on launch day anymore.. its space gray 38 mm black model and that is one of the popular ones and still have not even shipped for those who have 4/24 - 5/8
