Exactly.

It seems that each country was allocated a certain number of models, which would make sense due to differences in import policy and the likelihood for different geos to have different preferences. It certainly should not be shocking as when (for example) a new console launches, not every Target will get the same quantity of each configuration. Nor will the supply and demand for each model be equal at each store.

It seems like the queues go by...
1) Geo (US, UK, China, etc)
2) Model (SS w/ Black band, SS w/ link, etc)
3) Time (Order time at 12:01, 12:02, etc)

Agreed. Unfortunately, it looks like they definitely allocated certain models to certain countries in anticipation of "taste" (who knows how they did this, market research?), but they did this poorly. I would've expected the black sport band variants to be heavily supplied to the USA, which is the opposite of what was done.

Because we don't know how they were allocated, I really don't think we have enough information to speculate. Especially when we are not even half way through the first day on which deliveries to North America could occur. A few hundred impressions from people on this board is not nearly enough to draw any conclusions. They could have been distributed equally, but w/ demand was double on one side or the other. We just don't know.

I do agree that the forum represents a small (and biased) sample of Watch orders.

However, no one on these forums has received a few particular models in the states. We can safely assume there are definitely issues with these models, as we're seeing no movement at all.

Your point is well received though. "We just don't know." That's the problem, there is no communication.

We're in the same boat... the modern buckles don't seem to be moving at all.

Because this sort of thing gets lost in the thread, as far as I'm aware nobody in the launch countries has received any shipments of:

1.) 38mm SS + Modern Buckle.
2.) 42mm SS + Leather Loop.

Guess which two I have on order? :p

Have you at least progressed past "Processing"?

What I hate is the boutiques that now sell them. That's not fair. Verge reporter just walks in and buys it today in London. I'm 38 SS with modern buckle. Processing still.

Exactly what communication do you want?
People were given a delivery date range of 4/24-5/8.
Why would anyone assume there is an equal distribution of delivery of specific watches and dates?
It is possible that on 4/29 all of the white bands will have been delivered from the factory and no more delivered after that and at that point mainly SG 38s with 29% SG 42s and 4% SS Black, etc and so forth.

Do people expect for Apple to communicate their inventory levels, when they are receiving new shipments from their suppliers, etc, etc? People expect way too much.

What boutiques are selling these? What happened to "don't bother going to the stores because they are all reserved for online"?

Actually since you mentioned it, yea, I love that kind of stuff.

At no point should Apple have terribly allocated inventory to the point where someone who ordered a watch days ago received it today, and someone who ordered the minute pre-orders started still won't have one through May 8th.

Pending charges but no change in order status

I've been away with work for a couple of days and just checked my credit card status (AMEX).

I ordered a 42mm SS, brown leather loop at 8.03am (GMT) on 10/4 and an additional charger on 18th April.

The pending charge for the watch is showing on my card as being present since the 22nd April but still shows as processing on the order page. Interestingly, my additional charger changed to preparing for shipment yesterday and the pending charge appeared yesterday.

Anyone else in the same situation?

I think orders were definitely fulfilled on a first come first serve basis, however we're seeing that certain models were definitely allocated to certain countries before this.

For example, we can't find a single person that has the BBSS 42MM in the states, but there are a plethora of photos on Instagram in China with this model. On the flip-side, there are WBSS in the states being delivered today.

So obviously even if you ordered after the first pre-order date but chose a model that was in lower demand, but Apple allocated most of the inventory to your country, you still received one on launch day.
One person in the Florida thread got his 42 SS BSB delivered today. He is in JAX.

So I ordered two watches (38MM SS White Sports Band and 42MM SS Black Sports Band) at :08 on launch day. Both orders showed April 24 - May 8 or something like that. Both orders then adjusted to May 13 - 27 a few days later. Well, last night I received a text message telling me I was getting a UPS package from Apple. I also received a "shipped" email from Apple. My wife's watch (38MM) will be arriving today. Mine? Well, I'm still showing May 13 - 27 "Processing". I'm excited for the wife though. It is a good thing to be able to surprise somebody with something unexpectedly :)

YES! Authorization to PayPal Credit went through this AM and my 38mm SS white sports band :apple:watch is 'preparing for shipment'! I'm in the May 13-May 27th time frame! Milanese band is still processing and has an earlier delivery time frame.

Status just now changed to 'SHIPPED'!!!! Keep the faith guys and girls!!! :)

Im in this exact same boat. Same models, sizes, time. I did end up doing 2 sep orders though. Wifes at :08 (coming today) and mine at :14 (stupid fat fingers) and May 13-27......hope she doesnt mind me chopping her arms off while she sleeps tonight, rendering the watch useless to her. I will keep them on ice so the good doctors can sew them back on after I get mine :)

how long typically between prepare for shipment and shipped? i would like to have mine on saturday!

Took about 2 hours for me today. Are they doing Saturday deliveries? I just got my shipping confirmation email from Apple and they are shipping via UPS but I don't have details yet as to whether it will be overnight or ground or what. I don't think Apple has ever done Saturday deliveries in any launch, but this would be a good time to start! :D
