No one at Apple CS will say that directly to me. Bands or not... You don't have a preorder when you can't get supply ready before "launch" day
watch! its currently out for delivery! So I am a 42 MM SG order with confirmation at XX:08 still in processing hell. Is anyone else in the same boat as far as confirmation time? Seems to me that Apple is up to the XX:05s as far as fulfilling orders....based on what I have been seeing.
For SG it looks like on average the 04:'s are being finished up and are working on the early 05's.

Charged yesterday and "shipped" yesterday with a UPS tracking #...hopefully here tomorrow (VA).

You are so lucky!!!!! I am in VA as well, I ordered mine at xx:08 and im in the May window but no changes yet.
Not worried here since I'm in this May 13-27 window. Still about 2-4 weeks before I truly panic!!!
I didn't order until 10:46am ET. Got 4-6 week window on SS BSB. Getting more concerned that it is going to be closer to the 27th now. They're just on the 4th minute as of this morning. Of course, there were probably more orders in the first hour than the next 12 but very concerned.

Why concerned when it is still in the window given? Especially ordering almost 7 hours after they started...
I'm in exactly the same boat. I think the shipping activity in the next 2 days will be crucial - it should give us a good idea of how long our wait is going to be. I wouldn't be surprised if official estimates started getting much more specific by the end of the week.
Because I want it sooner, but yes you're right, I'm not concerned that they will not meet that window.
The average consumer, and myself included, would find it crazy you have to wait over a month to get something that you ordered mere hours after it went for sale. But I did hit "order" haha! It's all good.

I guess you'd have waited & released it in December, with a stockpile of 20 million.... meanwhile, they pushed it out asap, and will use jit to actually, you know, make exactly what people want, as they want, & not stockpile anything as they'll have near 100% sell through.
I know you THINK you have a better grasp on the logistics surrounding a wildly popular product being released than a trillion dollar company does, but...

I ordered a 38mm SS WSB late Saturday evening for a birthday gift (June birthday) and it's gone from 4-6 weeks to 3-4 weeks in 48 hours.
It's got to be bands causing these issues for most people (except space gray/space black, maybe).
I chose white intentionally because it is shipping faster than black.

The link band I ordered my husband around 1am PST on preorder eve hasn't changed from its original 4/29-5/12 window.
