I'll post this again later. My favorite MR member at the moment :D

That's 90% of the people on this forum.

It wasn't long ago when the majority here bashed these phablet phones and called them ridiculous plates.

Even your beloved Apple bashed these phablets.

Now all of a sudden Apple changed their minds about the thumb size. I guess peoples thumbs evolved and grew. Now people here are going crazy in anticipation for the 5.5. Not even the 4.7.

Let's be honest folks and be honest with yourself. You can bash all these "ridiculous" features other phone companies have such as: large screens, widgets, NFC. But once Apple features them, goddamn. Its the 2nd coming of Christ.

Idea ...

I know it is far fetched ... but just think about it .

What if Apple would introduce both 4.7in and 5.5in phones
at the same time , and at the SAME PRICE ,
and just say "Choose Your size"

How awesome, and Apple-esque would that be ?

I know the profit margin would be less for 5.5, but it counts in just 10's of $.
It would single handedly stop the size=price comparison, and give more value to 4inch phones.

With the motion sensor getting better, I don't really think I see the need for an iWatch - I mean, I have my phone with me all the time, if I don't have it I feel like I'm missing a limb or sth. - so, why would I need another device?

What about the 4 inch model?? Please let there be a 4 inch model ( not a c model, but a flagship one)

Apple will most likely continue to sell iPhone 5s, as well as the 5c. It's very doubtful they would introduce yet another 4" design!

It would not be Apple-esque at all. Apple have always used screen size as a clear price differentiator.

My pocket is ready.
My wallet probably is not.
Can't wait for the 5.5".
Actually my pockets aren't ready, all my suits and a lot of my trousers have a custom second pocket into which the 4.7 phone probably won't fit :(

Selfishly I hope the 5.5 doesn't delay the 4.7 as that's the one I want !

My guess is they keep just the 5C, perhaps with some new less garish colours. Agreed on the pricing, the 5.5 "should" cost more

I just hope Apple streamlines the iPhone lineup because if they end up having the 5C, 5S and both 6 models, it could be potentially overwhelming.

Just keep the 16GB 5S around as the entry level and have the 6 models be the flagship tiers.

And for the love of Jobs, please make 32GB the standard storage amount on the iPhone 6!

If the line up looked like this, it wouldn't be too bad:
iPhone 5C (at least 16GB) - Free
iPhone 5S - Lowered to the current price of the 5C.

iPhone 6 (4.7") - Current iPhone 5S price.
iPhone 6 (5.5") - $100 more than current iPhone 5S price.

I hope Apple will release the iPhone 6 unlocked models at the same time as the carrier locked models. Sick of waiting the 90-120 days so that the stupid carriers have their exclusivity.

This just make me mad! The waiting period.

Is that a USA thing?

Here in the UK, we get unlocked iPhones (in Apple retail stores and via Apple website/app) on day 1.

If they make 5.5 version with same iOS features and no splitscreen and other functions like Samsung Note has, than its going to be pretty useless...

That wasn't originally the case though, since O2 had exclusivity for, I think, two years from the launch of the original iPhone.

I much prefer that there's no exclusivity nowadays.

Funny, two short years ago we were all making fun of Galaxy fans, saying they need cargo pants or send their pants to be altered with bigger pockets.

Now all of a sudden 5.5 is the perfect size.

That would be rubbish. There are a lot of people who don't like carrying tablets around. Apple has spent the last 2 years telling us how the 4 inch is optimal, which it is for a lot of people. The 5S isn't going to cut it for those of us who want a new phone.

5.5" iPhone is all mines! :D! That plus iOS 8 jailbreak...my idea phone! I see no reason for me to go back to Android for a bigger screen and more customization then.

The T-Mobile phone was unlocked, just had to activate it yourself and take the T-Mobile sim out first.

Any iPhone bought from the Apple store at full price should be unlocked.

Yea I'm with you. I would like an updated version of my 5s ... lighter, thinner etc.

I really don't want a BIGGER phone ...

Has anyone seen any definitive answers on where the 4 inch is going?

The only good news in this is I won't feel compelled to buy anything from Apple this fall for the first time in what seems like a decade ... :)

Agreed, at that point there is no really good reason to get the 5.5" in my opinion.

Regardless, I am glad to see the mho beyond the 4" version, hopefully that is!

If the fabled iWatch is also released during the iPhone event, then does that impact your decision on what size rather price iPhone you get? Let's say price point is $299 for iWatch another $299 for entry level 5.5 iPhone or $600 USD is an expensive fall for the fanboy in me. I will get a 32GB at least too so add a $100 on to that. Do you see people opting to get the 4.7 to save $$ or could we see some sort of offer if you by both.

I'm really hoping they are intentionally playing up the health/fitness monitoring crap on the watch to divert the media from some other features they have up their sleeves.

Apple has trained me to expect some kind of amazing email or phone or music integration on the new watch that will have me waiting in line come September.

I fear it's going to be about heart rate and blood sugar.

More Steve. Less Tim.

Too much to wish for? One would think Jobs still had some input and thinking into the iwatch ...

yeah...and funny how when iPad was announced, how competitors were cracking jokes about it being just a hygiene product and that it would never catch on. Now everyone/competitor has their own version of a pad oops tablet.

things change...needs change.

what you said ^^^^^^

As if this wasn't ever going to be released simultaneously.

My thoughts are as to what will happen with the iPhone 5C, and the 4" size.
Forgoing 2 separate phone markets for a purely size upgrade is going to shake things around, not all in a positive way.
