When a month has passed, instant gratification shouldn't even enter into the conversation.

I have been patiently waiting and am quite annoyed at this point in time. Apple said prior to the preorder, that the watches will be available on the 24th.

Before 12pm PST, there was no communication that some combos would have a 4-6 week out the gate. This would have allowed people to order a different one if they wanted as the orders flooded in and every moment was crucial.

When they said it would be available, they never said "delivered" by the 24th. They would start to ship by the 24th, which is what they did. They said they would be available for ordering on the 24th, which is what they did. Not once did they say that someone would have theirs in hand on the 24th.

I'm not trying to be an Apple apologist, but there are a lot of misconceptions in this thread (mainly born out of frustration for what people don't know), and the fact that this is now the 9th thread staying that this is a failed launch.

It's rather hilarious.

BL.

If the date provided when you submitted your order said 4/24 then you should call the company. If it said June, its been 4 weeks, its still May, and you really shouldve gotten the anger out of your system by now. Maybe go for a jog or take up meditation or something.

Fwiw, my watch arrived 9 days ahead of its shipping window! ;)

Apple is under promising and over delivering IMO!

Demand was simply higher than supply. Apple seems to be doing a great job at catching up to this considering the massive scale of the undertaking.

People here act like that Apple is out to lunch while millions of watches are just sitting idle in a wearhouse somewhere.

I just want my watch. I mean come on.

People are getting their leather loops they ordered separately. Shouldn't Apple's priority be to get the orders out to people first who ordered the watch with the leather loop bands first?

What a joke.

I could not agree more. In the same boat with a XX:03 ordered SS with LL and still waiting...and waiting...and waiting.

What about people that walk in to Maxfields in LA and buy the same watch you ordered on the 10th and they get it in one day. CRAZY.

This is what is frustrating the most to me. Maxfields seems to be getting stock in everyday, however we are all waiting months to get the watch, and what is with the limit of 20, of course people are going to be reselling them, so if they wanted to prevent that they did not.

Let me grab the violin, and let's try this again.

The fact that there are 9 (more like 90) threads saying it is a failed launch MAKES IT A FAILED LAUNCH. When a large portion of your customers are upset, you have failed - whether or not you believe their expectations are unreasonable.

This ^

I can't stand Apple's white knight squad.

This is exactly what I was about to say.

We can pick apart whether Apple met their promises based on delivery date. But the reality is, this launch has cost them a significant amount of brand equity with their most loyal audience. And that's a big deal for a company who prides themselves on brand equity.

Such a smooth launch right?

Taptic failure, non-existent bands, doesn't work with tattoos, etc, etc.

I don't think I would call it a failed launch, definitely a sucky one though.

I gave up and just bought one on Swappa. Yeah I paid $100 over retail but I've been enjoying it now for a week. ;)

Apple is now losing confidence amongst us die hard fans. Sorry but this launch is pathetic and their lack of communication only makes it worse.

Just because you gave us an obscure date range doesn't excuse you from keeping contact with us and letting us know the production activities. We pre-ordered 1 MONTH ago.

If you manufacture new product 100 widgets and promise to start shipping them on day X. It's not a failure that 500 people ordered your widgets;)

You look at the time it took you to produce the first 100 widgets and give people an estimate on how long it will take to get the next 400 widgets shipped out. Shipping them faster than those estimates, is not a "failed launch"

The only real failure here was not being the first 100 in line!!

Says someone who has a watch.

Im not exactly a white knight, i hated a few things theyve done, but if youre told your estimated delivery date is "June" when you hit "Submit Order" and its May, what more communication are you looking for? .

"Yup, still June!" - Apple.

I was a little annoyed when I ordered, but like the thread title said, its been four weeks.

Reading all these goofy threads is making me embarrassed for even feeling annoyed in the first place. We're all adults here posting tantrums like 8 year olds.

I'm a die hard Apple fan like most here but some of you really can't see beyond that to notice the abysmal customer service Apple is providing. There is no way to defend the fact that some can order certain models and receive them in a day when others, mainly the links and modern buckles, continue to wait for a single watch to ship! Don't give me the supply and demand BS, no supply of these models has even existed!!

Shouldn't Apple's priority be to get the orders out to people first who ordered the watch with the leather loop bands first?

That depends... did you order your watch first or did they order their band before you ordered your watch?

Honest question.
