I am a little unsure too.
The Problem is, that I have skinny wrists (150mm) but I am very large and have big hands.
Photos taken too close does not show the watches size correct.
I dont think that the actual 42mm looks too big, but its hard to find nice fitting bands.
42mm with sport band for example is not wearable with 150mm wrist.

Here You can see:
- Series 4 44mm Space Black with link bracelet
- Series 4 40mm with Sport band
- My actual 42mm SS

Ok! I exchanged the 44mm aluminum for 40mm SS...

and

.... I just ordered the 44mm SS!! The 40mm has to go back! Looks like a toy on wrist, out of proportion with my hand!

Just got my Watch series 4 today, as it was released late - 28th in my country... 40mm, it is my first watch and it's great.
What do you guys think about the size? Will check out bigger version tomorrow at store, but IMO this one is nice - comfortable and still readable.

The 40mm looks good... I think 44 would look kinda chunky for ya

If I were you, I would go with the 40mm, I went with the 44, but I have bigger wrists, my hands are only medium, but I think it needs to correspond to the wrist more than the hand.

Just received my Nike 44 anyone who had a 42 before will be totally fine with this. I have very skinny wrists for a man and it fine.

This is absolutely false information. If you like/want a comically large and unproportionate watch on a small wrist then yeah, it will be fine. It seems the majority of people just go with the “bigger is better” and convince themselves that a 44mm watch looks good on them

Almost funny and comical to see some of the 44mm Watches around the wrist, here in this topic

A lot of them are really too big, as if carrying a mini-computer around the wrist :D:D

In my honest opinion, a watch should be subtile.

Not that someone is looking at you, like:
"hey look, there is a mini computer walking by" ;)

I thought the 44mm could be too big for me (coming from a 42mm), but it's a really small difference in height. Glad that I have taken the big one!

It looks really big on pictures, but really nice on my wrist.

:( Meanwhile I'm walking around with a disproportionately small 40mm!!!! LOL, first world problems, heh!

... Save the 44mm for the ones that truly need it!!!!!!

Watch looks great. Perfect size. Also the color goes well with your ring and blue jacket.

Also nice ring and car. The display on the C/GLC looks woefully outdated. Something I think they fixed with the 2019 C and 2020 GLC.
[doublepost=1538748311][/doublepost]I went with the 44 too. Love it. Looks great with the Space Black Apple Link Bracelet.

Similar to me. Go with 44mm
[doublepost=1538749057][/doublepost]Another pick with the 44. The problem is these close up shots with the wide-angle lens make the watch look bigger than it is on the wrist.

I keep going to Apple shops and trying them on - the big one is too big and the small one is too small. Of course, it comes down to personal preference but secretly I want a 44mm but don’t have the wrists to rock it :)

Although the same is true for diver's watches. Rolexes are also 44mm and Breitlings are often over 50mm.

I have a couple of "luxury" watches, and yea they're under 40mm, BUT it's used to tell time, and as an accessory..
But I think > 40mm for an AppleWatch, or smart watch in general is acceptable, especially when consuming data. The data on the 40mm, although legible appears cramped, whereas the 44mm presents it in a more relaxed display.

But your wrist is never 150mm ;-)
I think your wrist is ~175mm?
[doublepost=1538774565][/doublepost]I want to share my size guide tipps:

- do not trust photos too much, go into the store and take a live look. At home judge with a mirror and not photos.

- A watch can fit your wrist, but its not only the wrist. Are you a large person? Are you skinny? Do you have big hands?
A 40mm watch on a skinny male wrist can look perfekt on a photo, but in reality, where you have orher things in the world to compare the size too, the watch can look small.

- People (male) with 170mm or more wrist size should have no Problem with the 44mm. Even smaller wrists can fit it.

- at the End its some personal taste. What do you want? Do you want to hide, that you are wearing a smart watch or do you want the watch look very subtile?
Than the 40mm might be right for you.
You have no problem with a visible smart watch, or want to wear it even as an jewelery? Than the 44mm might be right for you.
[doublepost=1538774778][/doublepost]Oh I forgot:
- A small perfect fitting watch on a skinny wrist can make a wrist look more skinny than it is. You see a skinny person with skinny wirsts, you are expecting a little bit bigger sized watch.

This is the 40mm .. wondering what you guys think about going 44, perhaps too much for my wrist? It’s hard to tell even with the two together. Indecisive, at the moment.

I’ve always hated Mercedes’ Command system. That to me has been outdated since it came out. Can’t wait to try the their new mbux display.
