My story is very similar to yours. I'm a long time early adopter and purchased devices on launch day in the past without issue. I even work in IT so I'm use to the ridiculing from coworkers.
I'm pretty close to considering cancelling my order as well. Some of the "magic" of this device goes away when it takes so long to get it.
Unfortunately when Amazon releases their watch you can guarantee they will be selling something on the screen every moment they can. "What time is it? Time to buy the latest Kindle!"
I am not saying that Amazon will be the answer. I am saying that somewhere out there will be a company that is capable of coming up with comparable products and will get them delivered on time like Amazon. I bought one Kindle just to have something cheap to play with on the beach. It is not the competitor Apple and we need. That is the REAL problem. Apple knows they can do whatever they want and we will still buy because nothing out there is close. Android is s__t. I don't care what you say. When Apple gets a true competitor in the current market we may see REAL change.
