I tried to use gift cards, too, starting at 12:01 PDT. It took me until 12:25 to figure it out. (Can someone please tell me what "EOD" means?)

"EOD" = Email of Death. The email Apple sent out just prior to launch date (4/24) reminding those who most probably would not receive watches on the launch date that Apple had a window in which to deliver— not a specific date.

So the Email of Death most probably meant death to some customer's notions of launch date reception of their order.

E-mail of Death.

That vauge e-mail that still gave some hope, but realist knew it was just an attempt to let you down softly...

The pattern after 3 days (admittedly short) appears to be they are shipping every other day for the 42mm Milanese. Based on that the next ship notifications will be tomorrow early morning.

And then those people will see the longer-than-usual-wait-from-Hell weekend.

- Todoist is coming

- PCalc is coming

- Mailbox is (reportedly) coming

So I'm covered in those regards :)

Yep, but I prefer to use the built-in Reminder and Mail app and save a little bit. Hopefully Apple will consider adding these in the next software update, though Apple never added the Calculator app for the iPad. One thing I like about the built-in calculator is that I can access it from the Control Center.

Today's my birthday! My ordered arrived early this morning.

Hang in there guys! Thanks for all the help.

I find PCalc's today widget is even more convenient than the control center calculator shortcut because you don't have to launch the app, it's just ready to use.

Yeah, it's an awesome feature. Problem is, I have enough widget as it is. Weather Underground, Fantastical 2, Vidgets, and Hue. :)

I should just stop refreshing now. I just had a thought to e-mail Apple and share my disappointment... but wised up!

Don't waste your time. They just read you a stock answer back
Will not get you anywhere except Frustration Island.

I know... that is how I talked myself out of it.

But seriously, I am a recent convert to the Apple religion...
Bought my first Macbook Pro less than a year ago. This entire launch has me rethinking that loyalty. I know, I know... "you'll get it eventually" and that's great. However the 'upsell' with the April 24th "launch date", the horrible shipping window, Lack of communication, crappy answers from support and the celebrity 'pre-pre-launch' has me questioning how much they really care about their customers.

This launch is very Un-Applish. I've purchased and used Apple products since 1987. Launch day used to be fun and exciting. If you ordered between one and three minutes after pre-ordering opened— you knew you'd be rewarded on launch day.

But as Apple has grown, so has the size of their customer base. So, they either need to stop the pre-order rush or step up production and have a little confidence in their product.

The ACS told me this morning that they were not expecting so many pre-orders. Therefore, they don't have the supply to meet the demand. And that, to me, means they were not sure this product would be a success.

Some of the features I can see a point in. Web browsing and email are just stupid on the watch. Spare me the dictation crap. There's a reason it's not included in the apps. ITS NOT YOUR IPHONE OR IPAD :)

You should know by now then that Apple CSRs aren't the most reliable bunch and have no information or insight on production.

Happy Birthday!

Well, it seems I got my hopes up the other day when my CC authorization went through for nothing. Still processing. XX:08 confirmation. I'm as disappointed as everyone else, but I can't bring myself to cancel...yet. If I'm still in the same boat next Friday, that may be different.

Maybe as a consolation, those of us who had to wait will not have any issues with the haptic/taptic engine.

Don't cancel, people.... You're angry just because you want the watch. Hang in there.

Web browsing and email are just stupid on the watch.

I think email on the watch could be nice, but only from a "get rid of crap I don't care about" perspective. I don't need to actually read the order and shipping confirmation emails I get when I order something online, and swiping to archive/delete them would be nice from a watch. The ability to read a quick message would be nice too. I don't anticipate drafting many responses from my wrist though.

Also, there was a time web browsing and email were just stupid on a phone. Who knows what stupid things we'll be doing a few years from now :p

While that may be part of it, I think at this point most people who ordered are angry because Apple changed the rules at the last moment and issued a delivery date window instead of a delivery date. At first, most probably thought ... OK, but I got in very early ... So I won't have to wait long. But three weeks in Apple time is a very very long time. And when they're now looking at four weeks, the resulting emotion equals anger and the desire to just forget about it and call the whole thing off. It's understandable— especially when Apple offers no realistic feedback on order status.

I think many here are also thinking that 5/8 will come and go with processing statuses remaining unchanged. While we can't predict that with any certainty yet, I completely understand those who feel they will cancel in the event that abysmal scenario were to come true.
