You ordered late. Not preordering next time isn't going to do you any good.

I wouldn't consider 9 minutes after the site came up "late", that's actually pretty early. Apple did not have the supply to meet the demand (but they will not agree to that when you call them out on it like I did), it was not that I submitted my order "late". I'm on the later side for the first wave, as if I were technically "late" I'd be in the June shippment timeframe. If future pre-orders are anything like this one, I'm out for good! The stress and frustration is just not worth it!

Anyone here purchased the 42mm Milanese Loop on April 10 2015 at 3:10AM (EST NYC)?

Mine says mid-May which is frustrating since I ordered within 10 minutes after they started the preorders.

I have been waiting for this &@%& since Xmas and I woke up at 3am all groggy for nothing!

Yep, I placed my order at 3:10AM (EDT) on 4/10 and I'm in New Jersey (Bergen County, just outside NYC). I made the 4/24-5/8 delivery period and I'm still waiting with absolutely no movement on my watch. Did yours say Mid May from the time you submitted your order?

My email confirmation is 3:10 and I'm in the 4-24/5-8 batch. I have a hold on my credit card for the watch since wednesday. I'm in south florida.

I don't recall but now it says May 13th to May 27th. We placed the order at the same time for the same watch and we are basically in the same location.
I don't get it!

Also South Florida, but mine is 3:04:50, with zero progess..... and nothing's hit my credit card, other than the initial $1.00 temporary charge.

The stress and frustration are primarily self-induced. They gave us a shipping window when we ordered. We made the mistaken assumption that we'd be toward the front end of that window. As it turns out you ordered yours right on the cusp of being two weeks even further behind, like thiagos.

Same order time to the minute, but not to the second. And the cutoff had to be somewhere, you're just barely on the wrong side of it. The good news is this means you can count on being toward the front of your delivery window (or back of ours, if shipping ahead of schedule).

Which brings me to my last point. We're now in the middle of the 6th business day (of 11) during the shipping window, or 55%. It seems to me that xx:10 was the cutoff between this window and the next. And from my observations it looks like we're well into the 6s, 7s, and even some 8s. It would be interesting to know the breakdown of orders per minute for each minute, but I'm going to assume that by the tenth minute they're heavily front-loaded. So it looks like Apple is ahead of their promised schedule, as they've publicly said.

Still nothing. Xx:08 order in SW. Have had a $1 charge in my account for quite some time but that's it.

True, most of the stress and frustration is self-induced, but :apple:'s lack of transparency in the entire process adds quite a bit to the overall aggrivation factor during this launch. You can't say that this has been a smooth launch, even if :apple: is still within their promised delivery dates, which technically they still are. It's the lack of communication and the canned/scripted responses you get from ACS that's frastrating me and most of us that are still processing.

All of which is entirely within Apple's character.

And it hasn't been a smooth launch in terms of getting things on launch day, but they never promised that, even if they did imply that.

Agreed! I'm not frustrated at the fact that I didn't have my watch on launch day. I'm frustrated in the fact that I don't even know if I will receive it by May 8th and I think that's a fair reason to have a bit of anger and trepidation around this launch. :apple: did promise our watches by May 8th, so let's see what the next few days bring to see if our disappointment is truly warranted...

Two Canadian orders processed this morning from the other Milanese thread. And these orders were 4 hours after preorder started.

So glad that I woke up before 3am to be among the first, when people who slept in 4 hours later get theirs before me.

What ScardaNYC said above. ^^.

I will add that I called Apple and spoke with a Supervisor whom I have used in the past & trust. She said that the fastest way to order would be the Apple Store app on iPhone. The app would be first available means of ordering. Then the iPad. Then computers. In that order.

Additionally, I called Apple the day before pre-ordering and asked how to use a gift card when ordering via the App and iPhone. I was told when payment options appeared— select "other" and insert gift card there.

When I was actually pre-ordering at 12:01 PST, I tried to follow those instructions repeatedly (iPhone 6+) but it didn't work. My husband tried on his iPhone (5S), and he had no luck. He tried his iPad. No joy.

I finally decided at 12:09 PST to forget the gift card. Hit ApplePay. Done. 12:10 PST.

If anybody wants to submit that I "ordered late"— they're wrong.

You will receive it on or before 8 May.

That's kind of my point. The level of frustration / accusations of a failed launch is not *yet* valid. Personally I don't think it will be valid, since it seems Apple is tracking to deliver ahead of their promised dates.

Don't get me wrong, I'm annoyed that I still don't have a watch a week after launch when I ordered it via the Apple Store app before the web site even came online. But they haven't yet failed to meet the dates they promised, the vast majority of people receiving their watches before me either ordered before me or ordered watch configurations that are less supply constrained than this one (read: less awesome), and customer service gave me everything I could reasonably expect them to give me (i.e., the time my order went through and the confirmation that there was nothing unusual holding up my order). I can't fault Apple unless they do manage to miss the 8 May deadline.

Exactly DgAl520319! I ordered via the web and the site did not come up at exactly 3:01AM (EDT), it was more like 3:03AM (2 very valuable minutes lost there). Order submittted at 3:09AM and confirmation received at 3:10AM. Placed my order as quickly as I could without making a mistake and still got a 3:10AM confirmation. Let's see what next week brings as next week needs to be our week because it's alll the time :apple: has left to fulfill our orders as promised!

It's not that you ordered late. It's that you ordered later than all the people receiving watches before you. Concerts can sell out in minutes, tickets to WWDC routinely sold out so fast that now it's a lottery system, why can't the initial supply of Apple Watches sell out in 10 minutes?

They most certainly can and looks like they did...

Hence, my timeslot of xx:10 being on the far late side of the 4/24-5/8 delivery window it appears...

But they haven't yet failed to meet the dates they promised ....

That's not true in my case. I spoke with Supervisor "Jason," ACS last Friday. He said my watch would be delivered to me by today. I said, "You're sure about that." He said that he would be utterly "shocked" if it were not.

Jason and I will be speaking later today to celebrate our Shock and Awe party.

DgAl520319, we need to take what ACS says to us with a grain of salt unfortunately. I heard those exact same words that the rep would be "shocked" if there was no status movement on my order by this past Wednesday, April 29th. Here we are, May 1st, and no movement on my order. I think that they are told to amp up our excitement by telling us unfounded "truths" to appease us at that time. They use the word "exciting" quite a bit too (it's in the script apparantely). It was exciting last week, not so much anymore...

You are correct! In yesterday's chat session with "Tifini" and after she had my name, etc, she wrote, "How exciting! You'll be getting a new stainless steel Milanese loop Apple Watch by the 8th! You must be so excited!"

Thereafter, almost every reply contained the word "excited."

Towards the end of the session I wrote to her that I could tell she was excited about her job as well as being excited to be up at 4:00 am chatting with excitable Apple customers, and I hoped that Apple would be equally excited when I excitedly cancel my order on the 8th if no watch is delivered by an excited UPS driver by then. She wrote back, "I get your point. I apologize. I'm sorry."

Busted.

Haha! That's great! Good for you calling her out on the fake scripted excitability they keep trying to infuse into us. I feel for the ACS reps as it's not their fault but they're our first line of defense or information about our order. They have no insight into anything so why bother having them in the first place if they provide zero value to your loyal customers? They're our cheering squad apparently! That's about all they are to us.

I think most of us had this expectation when pre-ordering at 2am:

For me , the frustration stemmed from the fact that other people who have a much later delivery dates are getting their watch early and yet, here I am waiting...

So it seems Apple botched the launch for reason that they won't publicize, which add more to my frustration. I wouldn't be suprised if Apple later think "Oh snap, we can't delivery the xx model by 05/08" and pushed it to June.

If Apple had come publicly and provide some solution, even with later date, that may not change when I will receive the watch but provide closure.

As it is right now, many people are in a limbo.. will I get it on 05/0? Will it be pushed till June? And so on...

My 2 cents.

I just don't get the anger. The launch so far has been smooth. Nobody has received their watch late. I'm not sure how Apple could be more "transparent" and improve communication. Would you like Apple to issue a press release to tell everyone to clam down and their orders will be fulfilled as quoted? Is that really necessary? Unless things have changed, there is no reason for them to say anything...there's nothing to say.

For the record, I ordered at xx:03 and am still in processing.
