The point is not promised date! Everyone knows that Apple Watch launch was a huge disappointment. If you cant fill the first hour of orders, then you are not ready to launch the product. I cant start a hot dog stand with pack of hot dogs and tell people that are waiting and paid for to come back in a month and I will have them. Another thing, they need to treat their customers better. Tim Cook should go out public (create a video), and post it on the website and explain why they are so behind so people would feel better. Give customers more information.

They could have changed the release date to say July when they would have more than enough of ALL the variations of watches. Would you rather chance ordering in April and maybe not get it until late May because of short supplies of that model, or would you like to wait until July?

There are plenty of other products be other companies that have not had supply to meet demand. Think of the hottest Christmas presents with people trampling and fighting each other to get the last one on the shelf. I'd much rather order online and wait then fight the crowd.

Also, before you purchase, the Apple did show the anticipated shipping window. If that was unacceptable, you could either no complete the purchase or wait until they are available online or in store to make your purchase. There are many other sites that will either tell you an item is back-ordered and either not let you buy it or not give an anticipated delivery date or worse yet, let you buy it then send you an email later saying it's unavailable and will be delivered as a later undetermined date.

You also have not paid for anything until your item ships.

Are we really going to bring up this back-and-forth about delays, expectations, etc. again, and in this thread? There are more appropriate threads for that tired, old argument.

Anyway case closed. Lets move on with shipments and charges. I expect a wave tonight into tomorrow.

I just jumped into this thread, and yeah expect another wave this week.

I'm in the May 13-27th bracket. Shipping status changed two days ago, billed yesterday, got the email and text last night. My 42MM Space Gray shipped today, it's on the UPS truck, and I'm expecting it to get here any minute! Quite exciting.

:D

1. Congrats on the watch though. How is it so far?

2. Most people received their confirmation emails within minutes of ordering. The problem so far has been the failure of those people to reset expectations.

3. Turns out if you snooze (or have internet/store problems) you lose and have to wait a bit. This is not new.
1. A fun toy, which is all I expected it to be. I do find it convenient to take quick glances at my watch when texts and e-mails come in versus pulling my phone out of my pocket, and the activity monitor seems like it will be useful for me. I've had some highly frustrating software issues with the watch not pairing with the phone, but I seem to have found a work around. Definitely glad I bought it, but I certainly could live without it.

2. Generally agree with you here in the sense that it is silly to be angry at Apple now. The anger made more sense at launch time when people started realizing how long the delay would be. But I must say, for 99% of posts in this thread, I have seen not much more than anxious frustration that others have the watch and they don't, but not much hostility towards Apple.

3. Apple has never had a launch with constraints this tight and delays so long for so many. No one could have predicted ordering 5 minutes after sale, and before the website even came back up, that you'd have to wait this long.

Enjoy it! When did you order it?

Totally agree. We've been back and forth on these arguments through the history of this thread the past month. Let's stick to shipping notices and the occasional joy of someone who has received their watch. We are almost done with this shipping range, so we are also not long for this thread. Thanks for helping us all stay sane as we try and wait patiently for the watch.

The Apple employees come in here stirring up trouble expecting people to feel silly for expecting this product sooner. It's not going to work.

I don't think a video explaining low supplier yields and defective parts would make the general public feel better. I actually think it would lead to reliability fears and cancelled orders.

I wished they took a poll or survey on which watch was most popular then be able to determine demand. People seem to have chosen this model more than the others without even trying them on. Space grey always seem like the most poplular color even when it came to the iphones. Anyway back to watching paint dry:)

I believe that was the whole purpose of having the website store your "favorite" in the several weeks prior to the pre-order period. I'm sure they were using that to help predict demand by version.

Black is always the most popular color for any gadget or anything for the most part(So lets have the least of these says Apple)... Common sense...

So, is it shaping up to be another quiet day or do the waves sometimes come later in the day?

I know this doesn't make a difference but it helps get my frustration out (excuse my grammar :)):

Good afternoon Mr. Cook,

I am writing to you to express the frustration caused by the pre-order process during the Apple Watch launch.

Firstly, the pre-order process SHOULD have been live on both the Apple Store app AND online store. The demand should be no excuse for not being able to launch appropriately with adequately amounts of product.

Also, if you would like to push your loyal customers away from retail stores and instead use the app and online store, please allow all the same payment options.

In my particular experience, I had to wait 8-9 mins after midnight EST for the online store to go live which is unacceptable since that is the only way to use an Apple store gift card. I find that you can't use a gift card on the app absurd and inconsistent with the excellent customer service I’ve come to expect from Apple.

Myself, along with many other loyal Apple product users, have been waiting for our orders to be finally “processed” to no avail.

I understand this is not a life or death situation, in fact is a matter of "want vs. need," however the Apple brand survives in what the world “wants" including myself, someone who have been following the brand since my mother purchased my first Macintosh computer when I was younger.

I apologize if any of this message comes on as rude as that is not my intention. I’m just quite frustrated specially when I hear of all these stars and public figures receiving Apple Watches on launch day. What about the actual people that purchase Apple products and spending their hard earned money?

I feel like there was an oversight somewhere in the process and we are paying for it.

I would have loved to have had my watch on a once in a lifetime trip to Europe for my honeymoon, but patiently I gave up hope and instead I was looking forward to finally having it by the time I returned home but no… it’s been approximately two weeks since and still waiting. Altogether over a month since ordering the phone.

I’m finding myself turning off or changing the channel whenever an Apple Watch commercial comes on TV and I know that’s not me, but I can’t help feeling that way.

Best regards,

(A loyal Apple customer)

i assure you that having an apple watch would not have added anything to your honeymoon. hope it was awesome tho! :)

I've seen charges show up ~2:00am EST, around noon EST, or in the mid afternoon. So yes, there could very well be another wave late tonight...but who knows if the patterns hold over time as production is ramped up.

Yup, I gave up hope for a Friday delivery. I just changed my shipping address to the hotel I'll be in next week.

My order was at 00:12:54 so I'm hoping I'll get it on Monday.

For what it's worth the Apple Watch I am receiving today was manufactured the last week of April according to the serial number.
