yes so i am hoping for sat sun charges and anyway i am not getting my watch before monday anyway even if tim cook wants.....lol

Nah, you are right. Looks like 5/19 Delivery date at the earliest. I am XX:12:22, so SURELY we will get through the 12-13 min mark at LEAST this weekend I would think/hope.

Upon placing my order on April 10th within 15 minutes of orders being open I never in my wildest dreams would have believed anyone if they told me I still wouldn't have the watch more then 5 weeks later.

Yes it was shocking to see that 4-6 week , 13th-27th window. But I still didn't believe it would take that long.

The dark reality is setting in. I'm now beginning to wonder whether I will even have the watch within the expected delivery window originally provided by Apple .

I pre-ordered because I wanted this watch by the 24th of April. When I saw the delayed window I still placed the order because I love Apple products.

I have had several big events and occasions pass since the 24th. I feel that Apple could have handled this whole process better.

If it comes out that Apple intentionally constrained supply to build demand then I fear my image of Apple and the products they create will be forever tarnished.

Finally went to preparing for shipment. Mine got held up from a bank screw up.

11:12

Not in time for my birthday tomorrow but I'm happy I don't have to keep logging into my apple account to check every hour.

Why don't you take your watch over in the corner and play with it since you have nothing useful here to say........that is if you can afford one.

I don't think he meant it to be malicious, I thought it was funny and reflective of how some of us are constantly checking and expecting miracles...

Don't worry, man! Next week you and I will have our watch. Funny you mention that...when I saw the 4-6 weeks on April 10th, I called BS on Apple's part. I am a little taken back that they really meant it. This felt like I backed a kickstarter project.

what time are we at now?

I cant imagine that they would have intentionally constrained supply to create demand. It makes more sense that even with focus group and research data, entering a new market is uncertain. They can almost guarantee how many people are going to order the new iPhone so it's far easier to manufacture the correct amount. From an investment standpoint, its considerably safer to be prepared for the lower end of your spectrum and adjust accordingly. Right now I think they're just adjusting.

That's some douche-baggery right there.

Let me clue you in on a bit of information that you clearly are unaware of: I have ordered two. I ordered a stainless one for my wife that has already arrived, and a space gray one for me that has yet to ship. My post, therefore, was actually in reference to me as much as was about so many others in this thread. So, take a deep breath, step back, and relax. There is absolutely no reason for you to be such a tool.

I don't think he meant it to be malicious, I thought it was funny and reflective of how some of us are constantly checking and expecting miracles...

Exactly.

Some users think that Apple constrained supply to build demand, and of course according to Apple they have a had a supply limit caused by a faulty product.
Here is another Theory:
I think they are producing based on orders! Apple basically didn't know what version of Apple watch would be more demanding. Apple usually has limited variation in products. For example the iPhone and the iPhone Plus, the iPad is only one product (just one) with different storage capacities. This is how Apple operates to increase revenue to the max.
So lets say they make 300k of each Apple watch model and they end up stocking all the models. But in reality some models might not even have a 1k demand versus others might have a 1mil demand. Apple is all about pure profit and minimum loss. They had no idea which model would sell, so they simply didn't make any stock, everything is being made now based on demand. This is the Apple methodology and that's why they are number one in sales, because they minimize the loss.
Just a thought no offense. I am a huge Apple fan and owner.

I do agree that you would think that a company with Apple's resources would have been able to get a little closer with their estimates.

Keep in mind though that Apple is for Apple. What would cause more disruption to their stock value? A slow rollout of a successful device or a billion dollar buy in to a device that flops? It's possible they just picked the safer of the two and the early adopters are the ones paying for it.

in the end customer loyal as us we all have to suffer....

Again, I agree with you. That's part of being an early adopter though. I remember buying into every new cell phone and PDA technology since they started rolling out decades ago. You always end up fighting some sort of hardware, software, or in this case, economic bug.

I kind of agree with both of you, but I think things could have been done differently, for instance:

Pre-orders could have been placed in April as they did, but clearly stating the product wouldn't start shipping until July. That way they have a conservative count of demand. I thought they half-ass tried to get a count by doing the "favorite" option but that wasn't very successful.

Something feels like was overlooked in the process... I could be wrong.
