Don't stress - My email was 12:05:33. When I chatted with a rep they told me "5:33". I was just charged and moved to prep for ship.

They are probably referring to the minutes and seconds after pre-orders went live. 12:05:33 and they said "5:33".

Does the UPS tracking number come in an email from Apple?

I think it does but you have to enable it as a preference somewhere on Apple's site. But even so the tracking number shows up on the order status page first.

Apple will send an email when your order has shipped. This email will contain a tracking number. However, I have MyUPS and I was notified (by UPS) of my tracking number 12 hours before I received the email from Apple.

As a side note, I didn't have to change any settings on the Apple website to get the shipping notice email from them.

This is the one thing I have learned from this. No truer words have been spoken.

While very polite, they aren't as informed as they need to be. Not saying it's their fault necessarily. They're just not privy to answers to the questions we have.

I wonder how many of these people are temporary or contracted out to meet demand during a new product launch.

That's a good point. They would have to right? To Apple's credit, there's someone available to answer me through the chat interface every time with virtually no wait.

There has to be tons of people asking questions about their orders which would definitely warrant extra staff.

I'm frustrated that before I clicked submit it said ships 4/24-5/8 and then the confirmation screen said 5/13-24. I understand they were going fast, but c'mon.

Me too, and this is something I haven't really seen brought up. I even went back after placing the order to see if it possibly had changed from the time I chose the watch to the time I paid and it was still 4/24-5/8, yet my delivery window ended up being 5/13-5/24.

YES! Mine just shipped!!

My email confirmation came at xx:05:47

New York City area

Credit card got charged late last night and changed to preparing to ship soon after.

The tracking number isn't even working on UPS's site yet, but there is always a delay on that. Don't know what the ETA delivery is yet.

YES I'm so excited! I'm also pissed off at how bewildering this whole launch has been. Why is mine shipping now when so many xx:04's and xx:05's haven't even been charged yet?

So much for the theory that it's time + location. I'm in NYC too. Xx:05:19. Only thing that might be unique is that I have two orders. One for me and one for my dad. The second order was in the :06 range.

Except in our case, they're about to get to zone 7 and they announce overhead that there are no seats left and we will have to wait while they build another plane.

I just want to quote this for effect, because this is the best way I've heard this described yet. ^_^

get those surfboards ready for wave #1

Has anyone been crowdsourcing data here to get a range of time in the day when these 'good waves' usually happen?

Honest question: would you prefer they don't list an expected delivery date at all? I'm not sure the alternative - actually holding an item in the middle of the transaction - is totally fraud proof.

I just think given the systems that exist today, there isn't a perfect solution for the kind of demand that exists on these preorders, and all they can do is 'try'.

Why do people keep calling the reps, I don't think there is anything they can do! Unless it's past the date you were suppose to receive it!

Unboxing green apple sport with my friend, so jealous lol

Based on the discussion, looks like I've got quite a few ahead of me still...

As I've seen many others state, I'm one of those whose wife is currently wearing her watch. She didn't even want one until I convinced her and told her I'd order it for her on the 10th!

I normally have to convince my wife that she needs a new electronic device. This is the first time I've seen her genuinely excited about one!

My card got the pending charge 33 hours ago, still processing and no MyChoice info. I'm an :06.

I just talked to a representative through their chat support. They confirmed my order was confirmed at "8:22 AM PST" but we can assume that is "xx:8:22" because my email confirmation is at "xx:08".

Still processing though. Waiting...

No, I think it is important to have a date listed, I just think they must have the capability to hold the item as you bring up until the transaction is complete, and if not, release it. Even if that isn't what they are doing, I checked back a minute or 2 after I placed the order and it STILL was listing 4/24-5/8.

Now if only there were as many SG watches as they have chat people...

Fellow AL resident here. Jealous lol. I'm less than one minute after you. Hoping for some update before the end of the week. Only time will tell.

Until then I am very much enjoying the Apple Watch shipping saga :p

sorry to be a buzzkill but I don't think a Pending Charge is the same as a charge. I got a Pending Charge on my AMEX for the White 38mm I ordered last night immediately but my status is still processing. :(

That's interesting. My wife's watch got the pending charge a few days before shipping. And..my CC company didn't report the official charge until the day after I received the watch.

A pending charge right after ordering is the authorization... Apple making sure you're good for it and the CC works... That will fall off after a couple days. Then when you get the next pending charge... Then you're good to go.

Sadly that second charge hasn't happened yet for me... And to also say that the first charge is variable. Sometimes it is the full amount, sometimes it is just AppleCare if purchased and sometimes it is only for $1

You'll get it soon, I've been watching these threads for a while now. I didn't think mine would move until at least early next week, was surprised when I got back from lunch and checked and it was preparing to ship.
