Why do people blame Angela?
She's in charge of the Apple Store. She's not in charge of the production of the watch. How is it her fault that the demand is much higher than what Apple can supply?
Yes, it's Tim Cook or the guy who is now COO who needs to step up and explain to the public what's going on with the painfully apparent production delays, esp regarding models that are in short supply or not really available at launch.
OTOH, Angela isn't helping herself either. She was left dealing with a dissatisfied customer base because of production delays which are not her fault, and she could have stepped up and made lemonade from lemon by taking charge of the retail situation. Instead she's coming off as indecisive and not forthcoming.
In the end, I have the feeling this will turn out to be a storm in a teapot that will soon blow over, but it wasn't a good day for the Apple executive team. Remember the me.com rollout disaster, and the Apple maps problems? Steve Jobs and Tim Cook looked decisive and strong after those incidents, quickly apologizing to the public, firing those responsible, and taking steps to remedy the situation. In this case, nobody is admitting publicly that there is a problem -- which is the problem.
