My SD digital copy from Despicable Me Blu-ray says 4K, but it’s only 1.52GB, SD![]()
it's possible. the 4k movies are likely using h.265 which has a different compression scheme.

Interesting...mine still say 4K. iPhone 7 Plus iOS 11 GM.Same for me. iPhone and iPad.
It's not that. Digital codes on discs only let you redeem SD copies. That's why he can only download SD.

It does when iPhones can take 4K video.4K does not really make sense on iOS.

The codec being used for 4K video is not supported until iOS 11, tvOS 11, macOS High Sierra, so, unless you're running a beta hold your horses people!Still on iOS 10 here and mine went back to HD. Must be an iOS 11/10 thing. We should all be the same on Tuesday
Apple is rolling out updates over iTunes, ATV 4K will arrive on the 22nd, so give it time, and not every title is going to update to 4K, depends on the studios, ...so many titles still show only DD5.1, but both ATVs will do DD+ up to 7.1 channels, but no Atmos, unless apple gives us a pass thru option...see this: https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/immersive-audio.2066271/page-5#post-25043772How about the audio. No quality improvement over DD5.1 ?? Come on, this is 2017. Apple had all the time in the world refresh their library with 4K and HDR. But the audio remains the most ancient 5.1? How about Dolby Digital Plus, or True HD, or Atmos? Duude!!
This Vudu UHD list should give you a good idea of what's available digitally. It's not a lot and most of it are recent releases. But honestly, I don't think 4K UHD makes that much difference in older catelog titles. A bunch of older films came out in the last few weeks that didn't have UHD digital versions - blade runner, e.t., fifth element, close encounters and T2. I'm not convinced those titles are worth getting in 4k.
And of course it doesn't include all of the current 100+ 4K UHDs. Here's your list.

Spiderman Homecoming looks to be in 4k as well. Technically, that's a Disney movie.
It does not when the screen on the X is barely bigger than 2K and it can only output 1080p via HDMI.It does when iPhones can take 4K video.
You mustn't have redeemed a digital copy in years![]()
Fortunately there already exist a website to tell you exactly that:That's what I'm worried about. How do you tell if a movie is "true" 4K? In other words remastered in 4K with a 4K transfer (or shot/rendered in 4/8K)?
Strewth, I've just compared the US and UK prices for John Wick and it works out more expensive to rent and buy in the UK than the US. US rental = $2.99. UK rental = £3.49. US to buy = $7.99. UK to buy = £7.99.
The question is why is the rental price for UK more expensive?
Any chance this list can be alphabetized? I see it's the only one being continually updated. Thanks!http://forum.blu-ray.com/showpost.php?p=14083346&postcount=61
Apple is still updating (so the list hasn’t been stagnant), but they already have more 4K than VUDU, FandangoNow, and Amazon.
Give them some feedback and explain that you won't buy from Apple but from VUDU instead since of this very reason, maybe (just maybe) someone will listen if there is enough people that care.Wonder Woman - UHD/4K, Dolby Vision HDR, DD 5.1 ???
VUDU UHD, Dolby Vision HDR, DD+ Atmos !
WTF Apple?
Apple used to set the standard for quality audio with music, but, when it comes to movies, they are lagging behind!!!

That's true. I've never bought a blu-ray but a friend has tons and used to let me redeem digital movies with his codes. Their are all SD digital copies.
Do we know if this will be 30Hz or 60Hz 4K? Will I need a special HDMI cable to get the full 4K?
No possibility of YouTube offering 4K via the AppleTV? I mainly bought this so I didn't have to deal with Samsung TV's dumb features... It is so very slow and buggy.
Each country in Europe has their own VAT rates. In the EU, the minimum standard VAT rate allowed is 15%.Tax. VAT, value-added tax, across Europe is 25% and is displayed in the price, not tacked on during checkout
TVs don't play at variable rates yet, but they accept multiple fixed ones. All TVs have fixed frequency input on HDMI until HDMI 2.1 and that standard is too new to be available on any TV. So your Apple TV will display at 30 or 60 depending on the TV input. Most likely 60.
