The two Plus models have to be prototypes. We do know Apple looks at many, many concepts months and months before a final selection is made. These were probably the finalists and the winner depended on parts availability and cost. No way Apple can afford to bifurcate the Plus line like this.

I wanna try out the new Samsung Note, but I'm so balls-deep in the apple ecosystem that it makes me cringe at the thought of redoing everything!

You win, Apple, you win...

I pulled off the band aid three years ago and happy to be 'Pro cross platform'. Despite what fan boys from either side say, there really isn't much difference between Android and iOS nowadays with both having advantages over each other, they have both been copying from each other for ages now. The Note range is awesome with the new 7 series looking sweet. For me it's iPad for tablet, Android for phone, PC for desktop (I build my own) and Mac book Pro for laptop. Why go balls deep with one, when you can play the field?

As others have said, fake for sure. Modern iPhones don't have regulatory labels on the physical hardware.

So how about the note 7 with Iris, water resistance, and form factor with out benzels that stick out like a sore thumb... I think Samsumg has really upped Apple if these mock ups are right (which they probably are).

hmm.. Apple couldn't do something about the largest benzels in the industry, but true innovative firms like Spacex can start reusing rockets and Tesla adds features like Auto summons.

I envy you. I currently am typing this from my Note 7 (yes, a fully functional demo that has my SIM card in it. The benefit of being a manager for one of the big 4 telecom companies in the US.) and I gotta tell you... This phone is damn near perfect.

The fact that I use everything Google and have an iPad Pro makes me wonder why I still use an iPhone. I guess iMessage always gets me back.

Three variants of disgusting.
Apple could've made the devices slightly thicker to avoid protruding cameras with the upside of extra battery.
Three fails.

I hear you - that is exactly the way I am going - I am sticking to iPad for the stuff I purchased on the app store - but moving to an all black Samsung Note 7 - in 2017 Apple will release an iPhone that wont be close to what the Note 7 is today - I still have my iMac (Core i7), 4 iPads, 2 iPhones, etc. but will scale down on Apple for future purchases.

... might come back in the future but it would require a drastic change.

So there will be 3 versions one small two big. The dual lens is for the pro photographers I guess. I'm sure this gonna cost lots of money.

Sorry, i really don't see the attraction of a phone that small. I actually want to be able to see the content i have on my phone.

I only use my phone for calls, texts, emails and Twitter. I also don't like having to stretch my finger to reach the top of the screen. 4" is fine for those tasks for normal eyesight.

I miss the 90s where the target was the best battery life in the smallest dimensions.
As far as I'm concerned mobiles peaked at the Nokia 8210. :p

I did, they said that they are "very likely" mockups. They are without a doubt mockups! My reply said why are people considering these to have any chance of being real. That also includes readers.
Now with 3D printers anyone could do a mockup of any imaginary future device.
