I went from an iPhone 4 to a HTC sensation to the iPhone 4S. The iPhone 4S reminds me of why I love apple products so much. It just works, no lag, no random reboots, no countless hours of tweaking. Love it. Here are some things that I noticed about the iPhone 4S that are improved over the iPhone 4.

- The vibration is more noticeable in the pocket.
- The speaker is louder.
- Everything feels faster.
- Less dropping of calls and 3G signal.
- More detailed photos with less noise, less distortion and more accurate color reproduction.
- Full HD video recording with amazing motion stabilisation.
- Siri <--- Seriously love this feature, feels so gimmicky till you actually start using it.
- Bigger capacity, I purchased the 64GB version.
- It comes in white from day one. =] This is my first white iPhone, had the black 3G, 3GS and 4. Quite amazing how a change of color makes a difference. I am superficial.

Things that I love about the iPhone 4S that were on the 4.

- Design and build.
- Battery life.
- OS.
- ECO system.
- Abundant accessories availability.
- Works well with my MacBook Air and iPad.

I really enjoy using the iPhone 4S. Each individual enhancement might seem small but cumulatively it results in the best user experience yet.

I agree to all your points except BATTERY LIFE!!! come on...

I have the battery problem, but I didn't know it was really a 'problem' until people started stating it. And by that I mean, I upgraded to a 4S from an iPhone 1, and my iPhone 1 had a great great great battery life, even until the day I switched, and I noticed that the 4S battery drained pretty quickly but didn't know if that was normal or not since I skipped over 3 prior generations.

But I guess it's not normal.

Move from a Droid 2, loving it so far since I'm an apple fanboy the way it is. My only complaint is the battery OF COURSE. I Got the phone yesterday, and didn't update yet due to hearing some horror stories.
I really think I'm going to try and update to 5.0.1 since I'm getting these FANTASTIC batt stats :/
34 min usage
51 min STANDBY
Battery @ 86%!?
This is UNACCEPTABLE. Tirned lots features off, etc. please help...

To be honest, I have had no battery problems on my iPhone 4S. Maybe it is because I did not do a restore from an older iPhone profile and had started this iPhone as "new". Somehow for me, the iPhone 4S has been excellent in terms of battery life. I do have the mophie juice pack plus but hardly have to use it as I am getting great battery life. For example 93% now with 50mins of usage time. Been online surfing for the last 50mins using the wifi. So yeah, I am impressed with the battery life.

Are you updated to 5.0.1? I too, started my iPhone as a new one, since its my 1st. Should I try and restore it and see if it changes anything? OR should I DEFINITLEY upgrade to 5.0.1?i

Hi, I am on 5.0.1, but I was not having issues even when I was on 5.0. I am not sure if restoring it does any good because I set my phone up as a "new" phone. Gives me the chance to prune old contacts away, update my phone list and basically not carry any "baggage" from my older iphone profile. I do know that both my wife and myself have excellent battery life on the iPhone 4S. Some people are reporting better battery life on 5.0.1 and some worse so i don't lnow how it is going to affect yours, what i do know is that apple had intended 5.0.1 to help with battery issues. Some simple things I do which could help you are as follow.

- Just because a program can access noticfication or location service or has the ability to pull data from the internet, does not mean that you have to grant it access. Use what you need only. That way you don't have to deal with a ton of needless information that you don't need and you are not wasting resources getting it onto your phone.
- Turn off things that you don't use. For example when I am at home and I know that I am going to solely use the wifi for Internet, I turn off the 3G. When I am out and I know that I am solely using the 3G to access the Internet, I turn off the wifi.
- Let auto brightness help you out, I got my slider set at about 60% which seems to be a good place for me.
- Be willing to close some resource hogging application when you are done with it. For example application that keep polling gps, like a navigation app. No reason to leave it in the background when it is not been used.
- Don't over micro manage your phone. For example if you intend to use your phone to surf the web while you are out, just leave the 3G on. It probably saves more battery than switching 3G on and off 30 times in an hour.

I am sure that there are more tips that others are able to give you but if you are truly experiencing massive battery drain the best thing you can do is contact apple. Afterall apple has one of the best customer service. Hope that helps. =]

We have used 4S for a while, I would like to see how people like it. Personally I will give 4S 7 out of 10. To be honest, its just like 3G to 3GS.

Siri... just fine.. it was interesting at the beginning, but I quit using Siri after 2 weeks...

the other features are pretty much the same as 4.

let me know what you think

I use SIRI every day, and got the phone on launch.
The phone is much faster then my 4g and way faster than the 3gs. I actually have not had problems with my battery. I have always recharged my battery every night, and my phone lasts me more than one day. For those who mentioned jumping to droid, I hope your happy. I am very invested in apps for the iphone and pad, so I would probably not jump to droid unless the IOS devices completely crash and burn. And although I certainly have not played with every droid that is out there, I have never really been that impressed.

I've had every iteration of the iPhone since the 2G. And I've always upgraded since I wanted to and also because there is also an improvement in each one. Yes, I want to have the latest and best iPhone and that is the 4S. The new specs are great, they are noticeable for everyday tasks. Also, during gaining (e.g. Rage HD), the graphics look much better. I was first averse to Siri, thinking it would be gimmicky, but I find myself using it. And not because I want to use it so I would use my iPhone. It's become just part of my everyday routine now.

Another great addition is the BT 4.0. Before all the other iPhone's just streamed music to my car stereo, never showing anything on the monitor. With the new BT 4.0 on the 4S, it began showing the Song Name, Album, Artist. Now, that was awesome.

And to add, my iPhone has no problems or battery problems. It's perfect and works as it should.

Hypocrisy at its finest.

The forums were overflowing with anger after there wasn't an iPhone5 and now everyone is claiming iPhone4S to be the best ever. Pathetic.

How's that hypocrisy? The media claimed there would be an iPhone 5 this year. They hypothesized about what would be on it.

A phone came out. It was called the 4s. It has some, but not all, of the things the media said would be on it.

It's better than the Ip4 (and any other iPhone). That would make it the best iPhone "ever". Right?

Regardless of the media hype, wouldn't an iPhone that's better than any previous vernon be "the best ever"?

If you're referring to me (or the entire thread), just don't be jealous! You don't have to make yourself believe the 4 is the best ever. They're all good, some better than others. So, yeah, no hypocrisy here. However, it seems like you're the that should be eating those words. :D
