Why do you all go back and forth between Bluetooth and wifi?

not back and forth between them, more like back and forth toggling each of them for different purposes. toggling saves battery life, only have it on when you need it and your phone will last much, much longer w/o a charge :D

Interesting. Thanks for the info. I can imagine it would save battery but before the 4S, I didn't worry much about the battery since I could usually get through a day. Getting through the day has become a challenge though.

Even so, (since I'm a stay at home mom) I usually have plenty of opportunity to charge my phone during the day either at home or in the car. I think I'd go crazy having to remember to turn bluetooth and wifi on and off;).

So do people who do this not have much of a chance to charge during the day? I'm honestly just curious. Thanks!

By far, I miss 3g unrestrictor and lockinfo the most. It was amazing having my todo list and calendar stare me down every time i turned the phone on instead of having to go into the apps. They would actually do their jobs then haha. I also miss being able to tether my wifi ipad

But I can live without it if a jb never comes, it would just suck.

Can't get it back on soon enough! I've dozens of great paid JB apps I find crucial to getting the most to the iPhone....dying to get a decent skin on it as well...vanilla is so duuuuuullllllllllll!

I never realized just how crappy youtube videos look without 3gUnrestrictor/my3g... i mean holy crap why compress it THAT much? it's pretty much unwatchable.

The Cydia Store will lose millions of dollars in sales if the iPhone 4S isn't jailbreakable so there is ample incentive to get the job done.

It is possible that somebody has had an exploit for the iPad 2, but held it until after the launch of the iPhone 4S so Apple wouldn't be able to patch it.

We'll see.

All the people complaining about the lack of activator do realise there's very cheap solutions, right?

I picked up a Griffin headphone lead that has an inbuilt mic and a button akin to those on stock iPhone buds. You can use it with the cans of your choice. Picked it up in a sale. Cost around £4.

All the same click tricks apply as with stock headphones - click to pause, or answer call. 2 clicks to skip forward, 3 to go back.

Why you'd bother jail breaking for that feature when it's much more cumbersome than a sub £5 cable is beyond me...

this was my hope too, they've done this before and i completely agree with this tactic. i think the phone/ipod touch jailbreak community is a lot larger than the iPad jailbreak community.

I still have an iPhone 4, but when the Facebook update bricked my phone and I had to restore anyway, I elected to just upgrade to iOS 5 which was only a few days prior to the public release. I thought the jailbreak would not be this long either and hence I figured I'd only be without it for week or two MAX!

So missing my jailbreak badly and when my BF and other friends have theirs jailbroken still, I miss it even more. Realizing I cant live without SBSettings, LockInfo, TetherMe and BiteSMS and a few others! I really hope they get something released soon or I might have to try out the tethered version. Some things like TetherMe for instance I need for work to tether my iPad when at customer sites so in addition to it just being annoying, it's also making my job harder! :(
If there was a way to donate to get the job done faster, I would be one of the first in line to do so...

They certainly make enough to make it worthwhile maintaining....hopefully a reasonable % of people support the software developers rather than stealing everything they can get their hands on!!

Well y would u miss mywi it's built in!

Automatic fast connection over Bluetooth, for one thing.

Your WiFi iPad will automatically tether to your iPhone, quickly and seamlessly.

----------

What I miss the most is iBlacklist.

I got Spammed via SMS from "applebeta.info" at 4:00 AM, which is why I am awake right now. iBLacklist would've stopped that.

Also miss SBSettings and MyWi. I have a tethering plan at AT&T but I miss the instant Bluetooth connection between iPad WiFi and iPhone when I leave WiFi coverage.

Hmmm I am not going to guess any numbers, but how many iPhones are out there? Then between ads on the Cydia store and people actually buying apps. I'd say the do pretty good. Maybe not millions, but I am sure it's decent.

Didnt comex just come out and say that he made $55k just in donations the first year Jailbreakme was released? And that is donations alone...imagine what he could do if they charged a small fee for jailbreaks! While it may not be significant, I think it's a pretty good salary for a teenager (or young 20-something).

They certainly have every right to do with what they want and I'm certainly grateful for the work that they do and time they put into jailbreaks, but I really wonder if they have ever taken a good close look at the business potential here.

I'm pretty sure when speaking of 'Activator", people aren't thinking about just skipping tracks and pausing music. You can use activator with different combinations of swipes, button clicks, etc. to launch apps, turn on the LED light, or pretty much launch or activate anything your phone can do.

I swipe the status bar right for my SBSettings, left to open "Messages" app, double click on status bar to launch iblacklist, hold volume up button to launch Vlingo.

Activator is what allows the above and is much more than simply controlling your music.

I am hurting waiting for the JB. Honestly didn't think it would take this long.

I don't know how else this can be said without sounding rude, but be prepared to wait until Christmas time. The iPhone 4 jailbreak took about 5 weeks from the time the phone was released until the first untethered jailbreak was released. Given the difficulties the A5 is producing ... well, you get the picture.

I'm not saying it will TAKE until Christmas, but if I had to guess, I would say don't start getting your hopes up until Thanksgiving.

How dare you to say that to him??? It have been a whole 10 days since the 4S released, the JB should be already 11 days old by now... what a disappointment.

;)
