So, the pricing will be like this?

iPhone 5c: Free
iPhone 5s (8 GB): $99
iPhone 6 (4.7 inch, 16 GB): $199
iPhone 6 (5.5 inch, 32 GB): $299

all with 2-year contract.
No. Then 4.7 with 32GB would be same price as 5.5 with 32GB.

iPhone 6 across the board base 32GB.

iPhone 5c (16): Free
iPhone 5s (16 GB): $99
iPhone 6 (4.7 inch, 32 GB): $199
iPhone 6 (5.5 inch, 32 GB): $299

No. Too many SKUs is a bad thing. It's best to limit them to good product lines.

If you're talking about actual SKUs... Apple already has a ton of them. 3 iPhone models in various colors, capacities and carriers.

What is that... 18 SKUs just for the iPhone 5S? And that's just in the US... there may be even more SKUs for international models with different carrier bands.

But if you're talking about the product line... Apple only sells four iPhone models today:

iPhone 5S
iPhone 5C
iPhone 4S
iPhone 4 (internationally)

Adding one or two more models won't be that bad. Apple would still have one of the leanest and cleanest product lineups. Easy to understand.

Now... try to explain the Samsung "Galaxy" brand in 3 sentences or less :)

That's one confusing product lineup.

We Know apple

They will give us the 16 GB for $299 and 32 GB for $399

They're smart enough to know we are suckers :apple:

Well, with iCloud as cheep as it will be.. ($48/year for 200gb) I probably will go with the 16 .. maybe 32.. and just use iCloud for most of my storage.. I would do that anyway to share my content between my iPad/Macbook anyway.. why spend an extra $100 on just one device when I would upgrade in 2 years (50/year) and only benefit one device? Better to spend that $48/year and get 200gb for universal device access.. IMO anyway

Most of my space is photos.. the new system seems to work well, and I can keep most on the cloud now.. and some select photo's and music lists on my phone..

I don't game much.. Games are the biggest hogs next being video/photos/music

I stream all my video content though... so I don't count video at all..

Samsung is coming out with new phones and tablets faster than my mom can make hotcakes.

They could do a new
iPhone 5Cs 4" with TouchID A8 SOC. 199/649 (you wouldn't recognize leaked shells)
iPhone 6 4.7" with A8 SOC. 299/749

To really drive people to the new iPhone 6.

Ditto. I think 5.5 is going to fail the "fits in my pocket comfortably" test. I'm not even sure the 4.7 will pass that one, honestly.

Yes clearly Android and Windows users can't fit their phones in their pockets.

This is why I enjoy watching Apple compete in this space.

While every other manufacturer on the face of the earth rushed to offer big screens and make them mundane offerings, Apple understands managing customer excitement and expectations and are going offer the same thing as a premium.

lol can Samsung now downgrade their screen size to try and emulate that?

There's nothing exciting about larger screens anymore. But Apple will market it to where their users will have an orgasm about it. The rest of the world is already there dude. Look outside of the bubble when you get a chance.

Thank you for your permission. Unless this new iphone is really revolutionary.

Somehow I doubt that. iOS just got third party keyboard support which has been available on other platforms for years now.

The problem with the cloud that Apple always forgets about is my 2 GB data cap imposed by AT&T. If I could stream everything, I would be fine with less on board storage. But as it is, it would cost way more than just a tier of iCloud storage for me.

An extra $100 just for the privilege of a larger screen? Is Apple having a laugh?

I paid £629 for my 32GB 5S and that was a stretch. I couldn't justify paying £729 for a 32GB 5.5" model for a bit of extra material.

I hope this rumour stays a rumour and doesn't materialise.

Larger televisions cost more money. Larger computer monitors cost more money. Larger iMacs cost more money. Larger MacBooks cost more money. Larger iPad costs more money ($100 more, to be exact!)

If Apple is releasing two different sized iPhones, it wouldn't be a stretch at all. While I can certainly understand why you personally have no need for a larger display, I'm not really sure why this concept seems so outlandish to you.

Exactly. I've had the iphone for a while, and I feel like I'm watching the world pass me by.

Yeah, if you want a bigger cheeseburger, it costs more too.

One big thing I want to know about these new phones is resolution. Rumors have it that neither of them will offer more screen real estate than current models (just a blown up UI), in which case I don't really understand the point of the 5.5 inch model.

$100 bucks more...

I can live with that.

it's all a hoax for more money

why would Apple continue to sell the iPhone 5S though if they could simply sell the re-branded iPhone 6C in its cheaper to produce plastic shell with dated 5S components including the "brand new" Touch ID. Give people that dont want a 4.7 inch device the awesome "new" 6C while other people can take the premium iPhone 6 device.

its simple. rebranded iPhone 5S in a cheaper to produce shell and dated hardware for the same price. people would be like omg it got a new name it must be amazing

This may be a phone I will wait to buy in the store instead of pre-ordering. I need to get my paws on these two to see which one works best for me. I'm fairly certain it will be the 4.7" model, but you never know.

because they still have tons of them out there that need to be sold.

You are dreaming if you think any of the new iPhones will come standard with 32 GB. Its a nice dream, but still a dream.

You're probably right, but I really wish they would make 32 the standard. Honestly, 16gb wouldn't even be that bad if they could just find a way to give us an even 16. Losing nearly 3gb to formatting, system data, or whatever the reason is, really kind of socks it to us.

And for those wondering why we need all of that storage, it goes beyond having tons of apps. There are those who don't have unlimited data, those who don't stream their music and just want a device in their pocket that stores their music. Or videos. Or pictures. Or all three. And for those who do like downloading lots of apps? Having to pick and choose which apps they don't need this month sucks, especially when you consider that when you delete an app, you ALSO delete the app data (unless it supports iCloud, which several apps still don't.)

We're past expecting Apple to include expandable storage, but it would be nice if they'd throw us a bone and give our storage options a good upward shift. 32, 64 and 128. Save the 16gb for the budget models, because 8gb (remember, you're not getting a full 8) is a complete joke.

Good point. Pretty much if you want a bigger ANYTHING it costs more. This really isn't a novel concept.

I agree. How fricking awesome would it be to have one terabyte?
