It amazes me how the rumour mill now has to skip a few generations of phones to be mildly interesting.

It's a strong sign the iPhone 7 may be lackluster. I'm hoping Apple has a few surprises up their sleeves at this years announcement.

Same here. I love Apple and iOS but there are some things I expect the iPhone 7 to have. If it doesn't have wireless charging, fast charging and better screens, I may have to get over my hate for Android

So, possible 5" iPhone as well?

If this is in the 7s cycle in 2017.
It would mean we could get a 5.8 inch ips model this year. iPhone pro?

This paves the way of a 4.7 inch iPhone 7 and 5.2 inch iPhone 7+ .I will definitely get the 7+ then!

I'm starting to get the same impression.......

This might be a year where they do some internal spec bumps but i don't see any design changes. Or what about we don't get a iPhone upgrade this year at all and they wait until Summer of 2017? June 29, 2017 would be the 10 year anniversary........

I don't mind if Apple makes a bigger screen, as long as it also makes the bezels even wider and the top and chin really really big too. I mean like Jay Leno and Rhianna big.

And on the back, the antenna bands need to be much wider too with a hulking protrusion for the camera or anything else they want to add to make it even weirder.

It takes Apple two years to come out with a 5.8" OLED screen? I guess that's because all the other OLED displays are horrible and it takes Apple two years to do it better.

Not really - batteries have come pretty far, but Ive think we all want just a bit thinner phones this year (again) so the batteries keep getting smaller

"we" who? I was perfectly happy with iPhone 4 thickness. I'd rather get a lot better battery life than a slimmer phone. Can't really see the advantage of a 5.8" display either and I still don't see a point in buying a phone without the 3,5mm jack at this point of time.

It appears there's nothing to look for in the iPhone 7. I'll just skip a generation hoping they'll realize their mistake bring the jack back for iPhone 8. Or maybe I'll finally have a new car and buy bluetooth dongles for all the places I currently use my phone in. Not holding my breath waiting for that to happen for just a PHONE. Even less so am I going to waste a cent in lightning-enabled headphones.

At least I've replaced my macbook retina 15" with a Chromebook in most situations. Mac beats it in every aspect except for one: Battery life. I can easily squeeze 15 hours out of the chromebook compared to ~5 I can get out of the mac. Guess which one I rather drag around when I have to be able to rely on the battery to work. For the last few weeks mac's been just my home "desktop". Give me a phone with 2+ day battery, screw the other features.

Great for 2017-2018, but what about the pending iPhone 7?! (Sounds like a dud compared to the next 7S or 8 models.)

Jeez.

If there's no bezel and it's true edge-to-edge glass, then bring it on. Otherwise it'll just be a bigger, uglier iPhone.
But what about the home button? I think Apple's trademark of that round physical home button is going to stop them ever having a really good screen to handset ratio

OLED displays will allow the iPhone to have WAY thinner bezels, thus the screen could get bigger without changing the form factor size of the current 5.5

Could this be Plus model without bezel? Or maybe the entire front is touch screen? But I doubt eliminating bezel mounts to extra 0.3 inches though...

This would obviously be 2018, unless Apple wants to break the S cycle which seems unlikely. Also my guess is the extra space comes from the screen being taller vertically, possibly with no home button and a thin earpiece/camera at the top.

This would be awesome. I really like the big android phones with the glorious screens.

This would probably be the limit as to what I would want in a phone though.
