Other 5 a.m./7 a.m./8 a.m. sucks

8am is perfectly fine with me! Work from home and I’m up by 6am no matter what time I get to bed!

Staying up till 3am then getting back up 3 hours later sucked!!

I totally agree. I am so grateful to Apple for this new pre-order time. I hope this will be kept for a while or long term. Thanks, Tim.

West coasters have literally had it good every single year until this year, with a midnight pacific preorder date.

3 am for east coasters year over year has been a tall order too,



FWIW- I don't get why they don't just do like 10pm eastern / 7 pm pacific on a Thursday or that Friday, something less disruptive to one's life, when everyone is off work and settled

Actually, I know why-- because people will do it regardless its part of the Apple jumping through hoops game that they enjoy seeing unfold

Or because everyone from LA to SF is in their cars from 4:30 pm PT to 9:30 pm PT, and buying-while-driving is illegal and unsafe?

Depends on your perspective. I'm west coast, and I HATED having to stay up until midnight to order, because I'm an early to bed, early to rise person. I'm up at 5am every morning to go to work anyway, so the new times are perfect for me, finally!

Don’t want to wait for a delayed shipment date that may get bumped up like has happened in the past / isn’t unheard of, so no point in worrying or moaning again until this time

I think they use these odd times to cut down on order overload. The servers would probably melt down if it was during the day….

Much prefer the 3:00am east coast time. I usually don't go to bed until around 4:00am, so getting up for 8:00am is no fun.

No matter what time they pick, 25% of the people will hate it, 25% will love it, 50% are "just tell me when and I'll be there"

Sometimes I have to get up at 330am to catch a 6am flight, sometimes I have to take a redeye. It is what it is. It's one day a year. NBD no matter what.

I wasn't thrilled with the change but surprisingly it worked out perfectly... THIS YEAR. I think demand is low so it was quite easy to get on and get my phone ordered. Additionally for us... hubby opted out of upgrading his XS to the 11.... Next year he'll probably decide to upgrade which means back to ordering 2 phones and if there are significant changes... then more demand.... etc etc etc.

I get up every morning at 4 a.m. anyways.... but 5 a.m. is my workout start time... that got pushed back and my workout shortened this morning. But I've got a green phone on the way!
