5G iPods, PowerBook Updates?

Thanks for checking in on that. I wonder if that means the updates will be avaliable the day that they are announced?

Yikes! And the e in Steve is the 5th letter in the alphabet - 5 - and I'm sure Steve said "gee" at some point in the keynote so that must mean G5...

hey everyone i had another dream about PB last night; my parents took me on for a shopping day in New York (for a guy who lives in manchester, UK thats quite something)

and i asked my mum if i could buy a PB here cuz its cheaper and the reply was "no! wait! G5's are coming out soon"... yea. i probably need help :D
 
This is sad... (not as sad as the dream about shopping in NYC for a PB)

But checking Apple.com, MacRumors, MacMinute, and ThinkSecret have now become part of my morning routine. It's almost automated.

I do the same thing but my routine extends through the entire day. :)

mine too. I mean I love Apple, but now I check here and the Apple store like 4 times a day lol
 
Either someone really likes toying with us just for fun or apple slipped up again.. Either way, someone's goin for a long talk with their boss.

I'm all about the PB support group on Tuesday.

When that new PB does come out...I'll be real interested to see how sales go. Seems that most people are very anxious to buy, and almost prefer the upgraded G4 over the G5.

Reading through another forum, there was mention of changing the name to something other than the desktop's line (G3, G4, G5) so that people don't get so antsy when those are upgraded, but the notebooks still seem so far behind. - As soon as we hear of G5's...that's it...G4's are only second-best and not worth the money you'll throw down on a portable.
 
Get ahold of yourselves, people. This has become extraordinarily pathetic, even compared to the usual G5 crazy talk. I want one as much as the next person, but let's try and keep the baseless hysteria to a minimum.:)

It was you noelister. I hadn't seen that anywhere until you said it here. Then it started popping up everywhere. I have been combing the news heavily too.
 
I have been thinking about the G5 vs G4 debate and I can tell you the G4 will be faster at the same clock speed but I won't be happy until the dual core G4 arrives in a powerbook. There is just too much lag on a mac with a single processor. My dual 1.42ghz system flies compared to my Tibook 1ghz and its not just clock speed. OS X just needs a processor for itself to run and a second for apps. Better yet give me a dual core G5 at 2ghz. I don't know why they have'nt come out with a dual processor 17in powerbook. Its big enough, and can hold an extra large battery to make it work. I would buy one then for sure.
