in my opinion
and
in my humble opinion.
you may also see AFAIK "as far as i know", or FWIW "for what its worth".
which are probably the least known webreviations.

whilst dropping off to sleep last night i was thinking of the apple hardware page layout (as you do) and i realised something
http://www.apple.com/hardware/
take a LOOONG look at the shape the images make... what letter does it look like? id say an N.
the numerical value of N is (go on! count), 14. 14th of Feb; valentines day. Steve Jobs spotlight example at the keynote; Love.
or maybe im looking way too deep into this? or could something most certainly be happening on valentines day after all

QCassidy352 said:I'm just curious what you do with your laptop that you consider a 1.67 Ghz G4 to have "nonexistent performance." My gf's single processor 1.25 Ghz powermac G4 runs everything more or less as well as my 1.8 Ghz G5. Now, we're not rendering video, but unless that's what you're doing (or something equivalently demanding), I really think you're under estimating the G4. I'm sure there is some technical difference between how fast my G5 and her G4 perform operations, but from a regular user stand point, the difference is hardly noticable.

I remember saying those exact words while sour-grapedly justifying the purchase of my last monochrome Mac (after my SE was stolen in an apartment break-in), a Performa 200 back in 1993. "Why would I need a color screen?" Of course the main reason I bought it was that it was all I could afford at the timehartsft said:anyone else not interested in color screens? im just looking for an mp3 player i guess- it's not like it's really that important.. prolly a drain on the battery. i kind of like the monochrome simplicity

I am the one who sold him the G5 - and My 1ghz Powerbook ran as fast (or a little slower) then the G5 in normal usage. Given the Powerbook had twice as much ram. I dislike some peoples argument that "G5 or bust" When in fact a 1.6 G5 will *most likely* be at - or below performance levels of the 1.67 G4. (the only thing stopping the G4 would be the bus) Altivec would win. Simple as that. The battery life you were talking about Silliconaddict is decent - or higher then that of most Wintel books. So the Powerbook (besides the lack of usual updates) is doing fine with the G4, Just the name is what kills it.

stockscalper said:I would much rather see the dual core G4's than a G5 - much more power, much cooler and it will draw far less battery juice. But alas, we're all hung up on the G5 for that to happen.![]()
