I am afraid that my purchase doesn't make a lot of sense.

:)

I decided a while back that I'd get a 64GB Silver. I decided to do this just to eschew the popular gold and black, and in order to have a phone that more or less matched the appearance of my heavily used iMac and MacBook Pro.

Of course, I completely forgot that this iPhone would have a white face. Just totally forgot.

Then on checkout at 3:00 AM (12:00 AM Cupertino), I noticed they were selling a Lightning connector docking stand apparently just for the iPhone 5S rollout. Ooooo..... That looks neat, so I ticked that, too.

Then I catch sight of the leather cover. Oooooo..... That sounds neat. I'd better get that, too.

So.

Here I am with a 64GB iPhone 5S that no longer matches the iMac because I've got a black leather cover on it so that the only things showing are white.

:-/

And here I am with a marvelous little 15-pin dock that I am not using because I'd have to take off the leather case to use it.

:-/

I don't know if I've learned any lessons or not, except maybe to have a cup of coffee at 2:00 AM if I'm intending to buy iPhones at 3:00 AM.

:-/

I go back and forth with the colors every year. The Space Gray was pretty tempting as it's a nice color from what I've seen in online unboxings, but I really, really was set on the White/Silver. It looks so clean and awesome. I don't care if they say it's for girls. I like it, dammit!

Still interested to see the Gold in person. My friend is waiting on hers to ship sometime in October. It looks like it will actually be very, very nice if under the right lighting. I know if you put Gold under yellow-ish lighting it'll probably look weird, but so far in the videos it looks clean and better than I expected.

I ordered a silver for myself, but I saw the gold in person today. It's a VERY mild gold, as many others have said. I actually thought it was silver at first. Not my preference, but it definitely does look ver nice. Not flashy or garish at all.

i ended up getting the 32 GB space gray just because i didnt really like the 5 in silver/white and i haven't seen the 5s white/gold in person.

space grey really looks better in person..

the gold in person was a disappointment...

really was thinking about switching from silver to space grey...but the only downfall on the space grey is the finger id I just don't like the look of it

I have to agree, coming from silver iPhone 5 and ordering silver 5s I thought I'll give Space Grey a closer look at my Apple Store.
It really looks very good and just when I was about to make up my mind and cancel my Silver order, I took a closer look underneath Space Grey display...
To my horror the entire area around the Lightning connector was practically white from scuffs created by constant plugging and unplugging of Space Grey iPhone. There were another 3 displays available and unfortunately all of them with the same scuff marks :( None of the Silver displays exhibited the same wear and tear.
As much as I would love to get the Space Grey, I don't think I will now.
Why didn't Apple made a Silver with black front...

Got the white/silver. I thought it looked slick. I've had a black 4 for the past year and a half and felt like doing a white phone this time. I'll probably be mocked by some of my more "bro-ish" friends but whatever.

Got my space gray 5S today. It's beautiful. Really though, it is.

I loved my white 4S but I wanted to change it up. Glad I did. I even ordered a clear case so it can be seen while being protected.

Screw them, white does look slick. I loved my white 4S and never got crap from anyone about it.

Plus, seems more people are getting white now. Black seemed more popular for the 4/4S.

has to be space grey for me. i had a white 4S for 2 years so won't be getting the silver 5S and not really a fan of the gold 5S. I just don't like gold in anything.

1. Space Grey.
2. Silver.
3. Gold.

SPACE GREY FTW!! I really like that one. Although I liked black/slate more than space grey, I am really impressed by that color. And it is far better than silver or gold. Coming from an iPhone 4, I don't miss the cool dark black/slate look I saw in person (Apple Store :D) cause the space grey finish looks similar at the side.

Space gray has nearly 50% votes. Winner! I made the right choice. :D

It really is an amazing looking finish. Better than the slate, in my opinion. I love contrast, though. Apple went back to it's roots for the space gray.

I bought a 32gb silver. contemplating if I should exchange it for a gold. I haven't seen a gold in person because the nearest apple store is 300 miles away but I keep getting seduced by the hype :\

(but I do adore the classic silver mac colors and prefer to match to my rMBP)

It's exactly as you say, all hype. The only reason the "Gold" is getting so much exclusivity is because the quantity for it is so low and it's a brand new color... but I have seen it in person and anyone else who has seen it in person can tell you that it isn't really "gold"... it's more of a very very dim subdued yellow...

I predict there will be a lot of disappointment on this forum when posters receive their gold iPhone 5S in November.

Silver iPhone 5S is aesthetically the most pleasing of the 3.

I think they're all pretty good choices, but I went with Space Gray this time.

I had a White 4S and I didn't feel it was "feminine" at all, like some threads have been talking about. I considered getting the Silver/White again this time but wanted a change. Since I was split with the last purchase about getting Black, I went for it this time.

I just don't feel I'm "hip enough" to rock the Gold iPhone as a mid-20's male in the business world. I think it will sell really well with suburban mom's and college kids though.

Silver/White

I went with the awesomely clean & pristine Silver/White this time around, after having had black for my previous 2 iPhones.

Could have had a Gold/White, even had it in my "Ship to store" cart; but I realized that I was just riding the hype machine, and went with my gut desire of a Silver/White.

To each their own!

I don't think you'll be disappointed. I went with my gut with the White 4S and never regretted it once. I think you made the right decision by not buying into the hype and choosing what you wanted.

I got the gold 64gb and I LOVE it. It's my first iphone and my expectations have been met (though, given my previous iDevice experiences, I didn't doubt this!). Also, everyone who's seen the gold loves it because it's a subtle gold. Very nice on the eyes.

I have the gold and I love the color - I got a 5s because they offered the gold color- had the other 2 colors been the offerings - I would have stayed with my iPhone 5 in black.

My favorite colors are brown and gold so for me I didn't care if I had to wait until Dec to get my hands on a gold 64gb Verizon one - luck for me my son who has a lot of experience ordering at preorder initial openings helped and secured me one at 12:05am.

I had originally ordered a while/silver 5s but then i cancelled the
order in favor of a space grey 5s.

I felt that the space grey reflected my style more. I like that it is the original color of the phone. Also, i considered how each color will display content. The black phone simulates a seamless integration of the screen to the surrounding phone because the hairline black line surrounding the screen is the same color as the rest of the phone.

The end result is that you're more immersed in the content.

Switched to the gold. :)
