Has not Apple upped the price in part due to faster charge and wireless charge abilities? If so they should have at least included the faster charge adapter and cable required for these features or reduced the price to compensate. Seems very dishonest to me.

i guess i won't be taking advantage of the "fast charging" though my 10W iPad charger and 2.1amp lightning cable at work charges my iPhone 6 pretty quick.

I've been using my iPad's 12W charger to charge my 6S Plus much quicker for 2 years and have had absolutely no problems with anything. Supplying new iPhones with a 5W charger is just pathetically abysmal.

Must take courage to do that

edit: Now that i think about it, the 12W charger with iPhone/cable/etc probably can't all fit in the same size box. Apple would rather you had a smaller packaging box that you'll only touch once, than a faster charging phone

This is too funny. :D

As for the OP: you are buying a phone 'that can be quick-charged'...but to actually use that feature, you have to shell out more $$$ because Apple won't include it, for free.

It's always been the Apple way. Up-sell whenever possible.

Apple has always been the rich mans manufacturer. I don't why everyone is all up in arms about Apple charging extra for a fast charger. That's what they do and you should know that. For the price people are going to pay for the X they should include Air Pods also, like Samsung includes high quality headphones.

I completely agree that Apple should include a faster charger, no question.

However, don't many/most of us already have some kind of more powerful charger by now?

Whether it's an iPad charger or a great Anker multi-port charger that puts out lots of juice?

If you can't afford the charger then you can't afford the phone.
Lol, it’s people like you that make outright profiteering possible, your blind faith of Apple blinding you from your capitalist servitude....
Anyway, if you’re gonna make that argument, you might as well say don’t include a charger, battery, earphones etc because if you can’t afford those, you can’t afford the phone! Stupid argument
It’s not about affording, it’s the blatant profiteering when other competitors are showing them up in terms of value for money

How about when Apple only sold wireless mouse and keyboard seperate on the iMac?

Steve was around then.

How about when Apple only offered the white iPhone in the highest capacity?

Steve was around then.

How about when Apple got rid of the Disc Drive on the Macbook Air and sold it as a seperate accessory?

Steve was around then.

How about when they withheld te Super Drive to only the most expensive iMac model?

Steve was around then.

How about when Garageband was released, but about 50% of it was hidden behind a pay wall?

Steve was around then.

How about when Apple promised the white iPhone 4 was just around the corner, and then eventually arriving 8 months late?

Steve was around then.

Point is, Steve was great, but Apple was still a non-perfect buisness under his watch.

Pepperidge Farm remembers!

Accessories forum has quite a bit of discussion on this.

Looking at the iPhone X specs page, it’s says you only get a crappy 5w charger in the box for your £1000 or £1150. Really Apple?? You promote fast charging and then have the absolute cheek to include a 5w charger like all other iPhones, even the 12w charger would have been something and probably cost about £2 extra.
That’s poor Apple. Very poor indeed. Leaves a sour taste for me

But its 3 grams lighter than the 12 watt charger.

No reason why apple can't include a fast charger like every other manufacture does. Just yet another way to increase profits. I understand it's a business. But at which point do we say enough.

The problem is Apple needs their 30% margins, which would be considered insane by most other companies. This results in basically an Apple tax.

Don't buy what you can't afford is just good advice. You don't have to agree with me but Ad Hominem is neither necessary nor helpful.

30%

Apple were quite open about their margins being 40-45 percent a few years ago.

Since then prices on their macbooks have blown out massively.

Now, i understand they're a business and need to make a profit, and need to pay for that generally excellent support (vs. the pc industry) somehow.

And that's fine. What I do object to is paying that premium for crap i don't want like the touchbar.

Given how many years Apple stuck with 16gb its not a surprise. Maybe in two years it will be included.

Problem is people will still buy it.

If hardly anyone bought the X then they’d have to take action.

I don't know why. I don't even think it's that attractive. In fact I'm in the camp that thinks it looks fugly. Plus they made the OS all wonky with the gestures, and control center coming down from the top right.

Apple's arguement would probably be that the Samsung is a lower value phone, compared to the iPhone.

Well wasn't the notion that Apple users are more rich? The extra cost of the rapid charger shouldn't matter then. Double edge sword while you bend over.

I don't care as much about fast charging as much as not getting USB-C cable and adapter.

Why is Apple still pushing USB-A on their iDevices? Doesn't make sense.

I wonder if iOS even has the ability to indicate when fast charging is taking place.

On my Galaxy S8+ it tells you when connected to a fast charger.

Poor battery life?
Can't get through one full day without topping it off.

Since Apple is obsessed with making phones thinner and thinner with battery capacity suffering, we need chargers and third-party external batteries.

After 10 years of advances, we should be getting at least 24 hours of heavy usage on our devices.

Which phone? (Your case is quite atypical from most posts & experiences I’ve seen on MRF.)
