Worth pointing out that this happened on Tuesday November 10th, but police only releasing details now.
I’m surprised that a high value cargo like this doesn’t have an escort vehicle in addition to the “security guard”.

Seems really pointless to do this, Apple will just brick the devices and they will be worth no more than the sum of their parts. A lot of risk for not that much gain in my opinion - also it's immoral and criminal.
The Thieves were too smart by half. They probably forgot about the bricking potential.

GENIUS advertisement totally devised by Apple itself! Think about it - M1? Apple seen as the victim? The only thing I would have added to this advertising campaign would have been "The perpetrator was dressed in a Santa suit..."

100% this. The thieves aren’t concerned with serial numbers or anti theft measures. £500 for an iPhone 12 Pro Max for example. People will jump on it and the boxes will be sealed as well which would help with the sale as any prospective buyers would be convinced they were genuine.
Yep. Amazing how people are over thinking this.

(Shout outs to another Headz fan)

Well we know who was behind it...

Not before they track their locations, though.

What can you do with a bunch of devices that can be locked out with their serial number?
Arent they all unusable?
Theoretically if they can sell them with payment upfront (and dupe their customer), or get them out before the lock happens, they have a chance... but yeah other than that it’s slim chances haha

The amount of people saying theft is stupid because the serial numbers are tracked and locked out from activation so the products are worthless don't think too far ahead.

All nice and well but that doesn't come into play until whoever buys these products tries to activate them. At which point the thieves will be long gone with the money after having sold legit Apple packaged & sealed Apple products to whomever.

Thieves still make the money.. whoever they sell to are the ones who are screwed with the worthless crap so yeah..

Good and lucrative heist I bet
