I got the Modal dual layer case from Best Buy. It doesn't add a lot of weight or bulk to the phone, and it has textured edges for grip.

I've never used a case on any Apple portable and I've owned just about all of them since the original iPod, but I did get the black leather Apple case for my 6 Plus. I'm a little leery about the wrap around glass. Seems like an edge impact could crack it more easily than previous generations. I'm trying it for now. If reports of naked 6 Plus experiences seem positive over the next month or so I'll probably ditch it.

I have a thin clear flexible case on mine. Better grip, adds protection, not too thick and you can still see nice gold phone. Perfect for me

It's an insignia case that cost $14.99 at best buy.

Using mine naked. Don't like the way it feels in a case. Too big. And the oow cost is too high so I got AppleCare for the first time. I'll just be careful and enjoy the phone.

The whole case thing is left over from antenna gate, when Apple provided those side case things for free to help with the antenna problem. Generally, though I've never understood the need for or purpose of cases, unless you work outside in construction or something, or otherwise need some rugged protection due to your daily use. But if you have a typical office job or inside job, I fail to see the need.

Because I drop my phone a lot and don't want it to break? Duh

Took mine out of the leather apple case last night and an hour later pulled it out of my pocket and slipped out of my hands onto tile floor. Results being this.

I have an indentical chip on the rear corner of my iPad mini...Had a quick date with the concrete garage floor...It was in a slip case, but wasn't zipped! Doh!

You guys are nuts. I never used a case on an iPhone before and did't want to on the 6 Plus either. But it only took me one day to realize that just wasn't going to work. It's like the 6 Plus is just trying to jump out of your hands at all times, especially if you need to rotate it back and forth or do photography with it.

I got the Apple leather case and it is good for an everyday case, makes it a lot easier to handle, doesn't add much bulk to the form, looks and feels nice, and makes the camera lens flush. But I'm considering some kind of super grippy case for when I want to take it out shooting photos or video all day.

ditto.....

i don't want one either but both iPhone 6 and 6+ are so slippery

i would love a nice clear case as I'm in love with the design

As somebody who has a couple of toddlers running around I can appreciate the protection a case can offer. Plus no matter how careful you are accidents can happen. Also some like to keep their phones in as mint condition as possible for resale.

Personally I don't do cases either. I buy AppleCare+ for my phone and let that be my protection.

no wonder why you have so many toddlers running around, you don't like protection much eh?!?

why not try to take care of your things? btw, if you buy with amex, you would not need applecare - don't waste moola, put it in college fund for all of those kiddos ruining around! :D

100% agree. Just got the 6 plus Friday and it's one slippery phone. It's the combination of the rounded edges and the aluminum body. You just can't get a firm solid grip on the thing. I know....that's what she said)!! I got the black Apple leather case (silver phone). It's a nice combo....very minimalist....adds almost no extra bulk....but is "tacky" enough to get a secure grip on the phone. I'm waiting to see the Tech 21 cases too.

For those saying "why do you need a case if you're careful and don't work construction?"

I hate cases, I much prefer rocking my phones naked, but I've resigned myself to using them. I rocked my iPhone 5 naked, and as a result, I'm on my 5th iPhone 5. Was sitting in the car for a couple minutes talking to my girlfriend, and sat the phone between my legs. forgot it was there, got out of the car and my iPhone hit the puddle and died. Incidents like this have happened over and over. Had my phone in my sweatshirt pocket, hopped out of the car and it flew out and broke. One...after...another.

Got a case, have had my phone for over 6 months now. Dropped it probably half a dozen times in situations it would've broke otherwise.

I was going naked with my 6, but I'm most likely getting a case for my 6+, kind of more slippery.

I paid with Amex what do they offer compared with AppleCare

I've always been a case guy and the Apple leather case is terrific on the 6 plus. Perfect grip, minimal bulk and top quality. The black on black combo looks amazing.

Have you tried out the midnight blue on the gold? I would imagine it looks pretty nice.
midnight blue on gold looks fantastic! a user on here had that combo and it made me want to go out and get a midnight blue case for my gold 6 + that will arrive tomorrow.

They simply add another year on to Apple's default one year warranty to the phone which is fantastic in the event of a hardware failure, but it does NOT cover accidental damage (water, drop, etc).

I don't know, I've had times where I've stood up and forgotten the phone was in my lap, or when I've gone to put it on top of my dresser and missed, etc. It's easy to drop it and all it takes is one wrong angle and the screen is shattered.

My current iPhone is protected by a Trident Aegis case the perfect blend of silicone with a hard plastic back. The only draw back might be the solid colors it comes in. Right now it goes for about $35 but I predict in a couple of months they will be down around $20 online.

These are iPhone 5 cases:

Thanks that is good to know because I also bought a imac last year which I was going to purchase apple care before the 1 year in Oct. but I might not do that now and save the money.

I actually just filed a claim with Amex for my iPad Mini which crapped out a few days ago (was purchased in Jan 2013). I'm hoping they'll cover the $209 cost to swap out for a new one, which was the diagnosis/next step from Apple. I didn't drop/damage the iPad...it just...stopped booting up suddenly.

If I remember I'll let you know how it goes.
