So your saying Apple reported 9 cases. What about the 50-100 cases that are around in the internet, instagram, youtube and even on THIS very forum? Are every single one of them fake? Do you really believe there are only 9 cases?

And Im not worried about people who bent their phones intentionally, no one buys a phone to bend or break.

Im worried about the people who's phone has bent in their pocket through normal use. My iphone 6 plus will be in my pocket for at least one year, and if people have bent their phones in their pocket after days, I feel a bit apprehensive for the long term. Bearing in mind some people use their phones for 2-4 years.

The consumer reports video is absolutely irrelevant stupid and a con.

So far approximately 100% of the bent cases have been near the volume buttons, which makes sense because the rest of the phone is pretty dam solid. So why on earth would they test the middle of the phone? We know iphones are strong, they have ALWAYS had the best build quality, we know it is a strong. We are concerned about the structural rigidity of the phone near the volume buttons, the ifixit internals have revealed there is solid reason why the structural integrity of the phone fails SPECIFICALLY at that point.

The consumer reports video was a waste of time, until they retest with the force near the volume buttons, it will not matter.

Some people still cant admit it, even though as every day passes the number of bent iphone 6 plus's increase, if this was a non issue, then it would have decreased.

The fix is quite easy though, Apple just need come out and say sorry and just add a tiny change near the volume buttons for extra strength, the rest of the phone, even the iphone 6, is pretty dam solid. They should also announce their sales figures to show with a few hiccups, the iphone is still the success it was meant to be.

Those are all tech bloggers! lol And face it, why are there thousands and thousands of people WITHOUT bent phones? Maybe some people take better care of their stuff than others do.

Oh god this hoax is still being talked about as fact?
This crap is reaching the embarrassing level of republicans talking about Obama's birth certificate being a forgery.
For the sake of the OP I'll assume he's trolling us.

Yep, I totally made it up. One side of the phone looked like a boomerang resulting in the front panel separating from the rest of the phone to the point where you could see the inside of it. I have no idea what actually caused (although I do keep my phone in my back pocket) it but I would love to be making it up.

So sorry, the one talking crap is you. You might not like it, I sure as hell didn't like it. But a hoax it ain't.

Most techbloggers I follow haven't had a problem with bending iPhones 6 nor 6 Plus. People like:

TLD
iMore
the crew at Macbreak Weekly (Leo Laporte etc etc)
Chris Pirillo
DetroitBorg
Cult of Mac
Geekanoids
Metagamers
Larry Greenberg

And so on.....

IM NOT WORRIED ABOUT THE PHONE BENDING in normal use like in my jeans and whatnot, ill leave that to the full retards but a main concern is when its dropped i wonder how it'll react then. i have a 5 and that thing is a tank, i ve dropped several times and nothing. seems like the 6+ might be more susceptible to damage when its dropped compared to previous models. i dunno

Never was, never will be.

I treat my $1000 .45 handgun with care. It has its own case.
I treat my $950 6 Plus with care. It's kept in a case.

I treat my $500 Glock 26 like it owes me money. And throw it in a range bag with other pistols when I go to the shooting range.
I have treated lesser/cheaper smartphones with less caution than I would for something 2x-3x its cost.

now i should be worried:D:D

Using a Upsized Iphone.

My daily work requires me to squat, kneel and sit on the floor repeatedly throughout the day. (I repair machines for a living and they are heavy and bolted onto the floor)

My phone is in my back pocket coz it is easier for me to do those actions which i have mentioned above.

Last i checked today on a glass table, it is still flat and straight as the day i bought it....in any case, as long as i do not abuse it, i am pretty sure if and when it bends, Apple will honour their warranty

Just another video of the bending.

Many are saying its all fake, but how can it be when Apple have admitted it, people on this very forum have put pictures up, and many many people have managed to bend it, like in the video above, they cant ALL be fake?

I think we all deep down know this problem exists. And no doubt Apple will fix this soon because the phone is actually very well built it just needs a bit of reinforcement inside near the volume buttons because thats where MOST people are bending their iphone 6 plus.

Anyway as an iphone 6 plus user, it does worry me because within days of release many many users have reported it, and like I said they cant all be fake.

So I'm just going to be careful with it. Im not going to use a case, number one it adds size to the phone and after all the hype about thinness I want a nice thin phone because it looks good. And secondly why should I have to use a case? If I HAVE to use a case then theres a design fault.

What makes it funny is the iphone 6 does not bend, or if it does very little, yet the iphone 6 plus seems to bend. People are saying oh, its metal of course it bends, funny how both are made of same material and one bends, of course you will say because its larger, but then the plus is thicker, and companies like Apple should be having stress tests during the testing phase like Samsung do.

Anyway,

You guys with the 6 plus, are you worried about your phone bending? Like I said me personally I am somewhat worried about it, not so worried that I will return the phone (I actually know some people who returned their plus because of this bend issue).

A case does more than just keeping it from bending. So if it falls on the ground and gets dented, it would be a design flaw since it should be able to withstand that. Or if the glass breaks, it is a design flaw.

It is an electronic device, which will dent, bend, and break if not used appropriate and abused. I agree, I wish it was thicker. This "must be the thinnest phone" is kind of stupid since the last time I checked, not many of us want it to be the thinnest. We want it to be have better battery which means a bit more thickness to it. I would have been happy if they kept it the same thickness as the 5/5S. Use the extra space for battery. But what do I know.

As for the case, there are many reasons. Naked, it does not have good grip to it. if you put it in some gym shorts or something it will slide right out. So many of us put a case on it so that it isn't slipping and sliding all over the place. Some of us are more clumsy than others. So they put a case on it to protect from bangs, drops, scratches, etc... Sometimes there are just accidents which are unavoidable and unforseeable, and a case may protect you from having your precious idevice broken or damaged.

To each their own. I switch back and forth between a Spigen Thin Fit smooth black case (which is pretty much just a thin shell that protects against scratches to the sides and back) for a bit more grip and a thicker case such as the Spigen Slim Armor, or the SUPCASE Unicorn Beetle PRO Series Full-body Rugged Hybrid Protective Cover with Built-in Screen Protector and holster.

In the end, am I worried about "bending" my iP6+, no because I take care of my devices and do not toss them around or stick them in my back pocket and sit on them or wear skinny jeans and let the phone start digging into my hips and applying significant pressure to it.

10 million sold in first few days 9 people complain what is the point of concern? This is how wannabe editors and news writers make money. It is a real joke

9 People?

So all the youtube vids, facebook pics, users on these forums, instagram pics, tech bloggers, their bent iphones are ALL fake?

does that add up to 10 THOUSAND?

thought not...

because you need 10 THOUSAND to make up 1% of sold iPhones that have been bent, and that 1% would still be a ridiculously low figure.

You're off by a bit. It would take 100,000 bent phones to make up 1% of LAUNCH WEEKEND phones.

Let's assume the actual rate is 100 per week for an initial week batch of 15 million phones. Roughly 10x the quoted rate by apple. If, of those initial 15 million phones, 100 bend EVERY WEEK, then 5,200 phones will be bent (through normal means, not trying to bend it like the YouTubers). That adds up to a whopping 0.035% of all those initial phones. less than 4 hundredths of one percent. Meanwhile, 3-5% of owners will shatter their screen in the same time frame...meaning you're 100 times more likely to shatter your screen than bend your phone, and that's at 10x the quoted rate by Apple.

Note that over the course of the 120-150 million iPhones Apple will sell this year, that possibly up to 50,000 of them will be bent. That's a huge pool of anecdotal evidence that still adds up to a measly 0.035%. This estimate, which is likely very high, still means that 99.965% of iPhone users will have a straight phone after this year. Though only 95% of them will likely have intact screens.

It is not that they are fake, it is that the problem in a non issue. Metal bends and for the most part stays bent unless you bend it back. How is this a surprise to any of you.

It takes around 65 to 70 lbs of force to bend it, so just avoid that. If a phone that will bend when you apply that much force is not for you then just return it.

I need to just stay off of MR for a while.

for our own sanity we all need to stay away...let the fandroids have their "gate-party" on here and we can all come back in a couple of months when the whole story dies quiet and the fandroids are too busy playing with the gap-feature in their phones....

Say that to the, now increasing substantially everyday, people who paid **** loads for iphone's and now have found theirs bent (i bought the plus 128gb, which is not cheap, more expensive than all other phones).

If the problem is this bad now, and even on THIS forum people are reporting bent iphone's.

This is clearly an issue.

Why is everyone just denying it. Apple need to come to a solution before it gets out of hand like xbox RROD, although Microsoft dealt with it well its still not good.

I think it's going to be like the issue with the plastic backs of the 3GS cracking and they will just replace them when someone has an issue.

percentage wise is insignificant....

the sad guy that runs the www.oneofthenine.com and scours daily the internet and social media for all types of bent phones including demo phones at Apple Stores has struggled to get 45 cases so far.

in the bigger picture thats 0,00045% of sold phones.

don't think Apple would even consider it a problem unless you had 10% of sold phones with bend problems....

thats a whooping 1M phones with bend problems....

I know in these closed environments like this forum it might appear that there's loads of cases of bent phones if you get one thread per bent phone......but in reality it accounts to nothing!
