What would be the usefulness of a removable cable? I'm puzzled, as I have 2 HomePods and don't really see a use for removing the cable.
I wish they weren’t permanently attached to that power cable.
I have seven HomePods. Not once have I cared or thought about the power cable being attached.
Ditto with my table and floor lamps, clock radio, TV, toaster, coffee maker, etc.
Do they work with the cord removed? They aren’t, it’s removable
The HP minis are not even bought at their current price. I doubt that new and more expensive versions will sell better.Even lesser microphones, speakers and older wifi gen and leftover batches of A-chips. Price increase 15%.
Why?Removable cable... removable cable... (*thinking to self + fingers crossed*)
Imagine if someone invented a rechargeable battery that could be put into speakers this size!I have seven HomePods. Not once have I cared or thought about the power cable being attached.
Erm…no, you plug it back in?Do they work with the cord removed?
I have 8 and need 6 more. Once you hear seamless music from room to room, you’ll never want to go back.Maybe if they were more portable you wouldn't need seven of them.

How about fixing the software before releasing new versions. Mine are quite fond of skipping songs every 10 seconds.
And that's what we're trying to say: it's permanently tethered. I guess for some people that's fine. I think two of them would be great on our deck in the summer -- except there are no electrical outlets out there. Even moving the minis from room to room requires first fishing for the cord and then plugging it back in somewhere else. If it had a battery (and I have two other wireless speakers about the size of the minis that do -- and that last up to 30 hours), then I could just carry it to wherever I needed it. But I guess if the mini is aimed to be part of a smart home system (rather than just a Bluetooth speaker) then it sort of makes sense that it would need to be continually plugged in.Erm…no, you plug it back in?
No. If you've removed the cable from a HomePod mini, you now have a slightly oversized, oddly-weighted tennis ball.Do they work with the cord removed?
